Dip nails done... everything was fine but he must've rushed through curing bc it's streaky and matted despite two topcoats of gloss. The card machine almost insists on a tip unless you select you paid the tip in cash. Uhmmm my nails could've been better cured but I've already spent my $55 (including tip). My best friends sister and mom loves it but I'll try another location next time. ETA I am annoyed with how mottled my nails look. read more

Magic Nails is the best salon in the Columbia area. We have been going there for years and will not change. The nail techs are all great, friendly and do a great job. Management is great and everyone is always friendly. Many of the customers know each other from the salon and it's always nice to chat with the staff and other customers. It is such a comfortable setting. They know your name and your preferences. Whether you get gel polish, chose dip or go for acrylics you will not be disappointed. Pricing is standard for the industry and not overpriced. They also perform wax services and you always leave looking your best. I see some complaints but you need to communicate what you want and if you are not happy. If there is something I do not like or feel needs to be corrected, I ask. Communication when having your nails done or waxing is key. If you don't accurately communicate it is hard to make someone satisfied but even if you aren't sure on what you want or the color/design they will give you suggestions and help you find the color and look you are looking to achieve. Cut my fingers, messed up the shape of the nail, and I'm not even sure if they gave me the color I asked for (it's similar but questionable). Overall my hands hurt, and I hate that I paid for a service that was uncomfortable for the entire duration. The people were nice, but I was definitely not given a great service by my specific nail tech. Also got the top coat on my finger not just my nail. Now I have to fix that too. Oh & none of my nails look the same in thickness or shape. :( Edit to update: My nail has chipped on day two or maybe three of having them done. Badly too. For dipping powder I have to say this is not normal for me & really feels like my nails were improperly done. read more

This is going to be the longest review but Hands down one of the best salons in Columbia! I was struggling to find a good place that didn't have just more of the usual and with a good technique. First of all the staff is so friendly and accommodating , and they gave me a free margarita ! Not only the manicure and pedicure were excellent and thorough, but they can do whatever you want , whatever nail inspo you bring , which is a big + for me. Christian's hands were godly! he provided a heavenly pedicure, you can tell he has a ton of experience! Tina is really friendly and she did a beautiful work, I got so many compliments on my nails. The prices are adequate to the quality of service you get. Unlike other places who will charge you an arm and a leg and give you a plain gel mani and bad service. Their selection of polishes , techniques (foil , chrome , rhinestones, etc) and pedicure options are exceptional! So this happen! I get a pedicure every two weeks and I have been going to the same nail salon for years. I should have stayed with my routine. I went to this nail salon because it was recommended and it is closer to me. First of all is the most expensive nail salon I've ever been to , more expensive than any other Salon in the area. I added a picture so you could see the end result. Let's just say I literally got laughed at, by someone I know. And I didn't even point out the pedicure to them. They literally look down at my feet and said I hope you didn't pay for that. I didn't ask for their opinion. It was just that bad that they noticed. Got my nails done a week ago with gel polish. Three of them have peeled completely off & others have chipped. They also aren't fully painted to the cuticle, leaving them to look grown out after only a few days. I'm not please & wont be returning for manicure needs. Do not get me wrong this place is amazing. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because it is very expensive compared to my usual place I go. The service was so quick and they were very nice, didn't talk much. I just got a mani pedi and it ran em $50 for regular polish. But it was very nice and bougie so if you're up for paying a little bit more than usual then I would highly suggest this place. read more

We called for an appointment for a pedicure for my husband and were given an appointment for thirty minutes later with the lady who had been recommended to us, Kelly. When we came in, we were greeted politely and were taken right away. He absolutely loved it, both the pedicure itself and the care given to his legs as well. I went in for a pedi. I was greeted right away and didnt have a wait time. My only thing was the guy had way too soft of a touch. He barely trimmed my cuticles, and nails. He also went way to fast. I came while there were two girls having a pedi done. It seemed like they had already been there for a good minute and I was done before their pedi was even over and I got more than a basic pedi. read more

There's nothing worse than telling someone exactly what you want, and you getting the total opposite. Then, when you tell them it's incorrect they insult what you like/how you like to have your nails done and you have to fix them yourself. I'm frustrated that I even paid for the service but there's no way I was going to sit there for another hour to get a half-ass job for someone to fix my nails with an attitude. I guess it's time to find a new salon. Don't bother with this place, it's just another one of those places that does what they want... not what you want. Great experience! I came in late and they fit me in and didn't rush me. I'm particular about my feet and they really scrubbed them and got them perfect. Staff was friendly, understandable, and didn't pressure hard for up charge services. I came during closing time and they were really cleaning well, which was comforting to see first hand!
