I have been going 4 years and never liked anywhere else they are not to expensive and very nice

I made an appointment for fillings a week ago with the owner of Magic Nails, and at that time, she didn't mention any issues that seemed out of the ordinary. Today, when I arrived, I was seen by a tech named Brandon who knew nothing about me or that it's been a rough season in my life. He immediately said, "You look tired. Why do you look tired? How come?" Not the best start, but I tried to make small talk. Then, out of nowhere, he tells me, "I can't do because you need a whole new set!" I was shocked. How is it that other practices can perform the work? Never again. I may as well add that Tina had formerly done my permanent makeup. Beauty mark turned blue and spread, lip liner completely faded and eyeliner turned blue. Biggest waste of money. Huge regret. read more

to say that I won't be coming here would be an understatement. I just moved to the area and I was looking for a place to get a full set of , French tips, and alI do my own nails, but I decided to treat myself and go to a salon, I was wearing a long skirt with shorts underneath, this information is important to the events that occurred after. they started with my pedicure and I had a gentleman do the service, I chose a basic pedicure package, I had my dress up to my knees to ensure that it would not get wet the gentleman that did my pedicure continued throughout the service to pull my skirt up. I originally thought maybe it was getting in the way, so I tried not to think too much into it that being said during the he would also open my legs in a way that took me off guard, to rinse off any scrub left over also he did this when lotioning my legs, I thought this seems a little bit much, but I'm sure it's nothing to worry about finally what did it for me was at the end of the service. He stuck his hand under my skirt to "wipe something away" I use that with quotations because of the manner that he stuck his hand under my towards my bottom. I was a little disturbed, but decided to continue with my full set of acrylics, the same gentleman did the full set for me. I was wearing press ons prior to coming in, and he peeled every single one off, which was extremely painful and very damaging to my nails I told myself maybe they didn't offer so it is what it is. It was relatively quick, but I will continue With the service. He asked me what shape I wanted, and the length and I said, medium taper square, anyone who gets their nails done know what that is supposed to look like and I did not walk away with that. he clipped the tips and they were way too short. I said it was fine because I do have a toddler so it really isn't that big of a deal and I really didn't want him to peel off the tips to redo it. He applied the acrylic and there was really no issues with that. I did notice The acrylic seemed thick and lumpy, but I figured that would be fixed with the drilling, he was very aggressive when filing my nails so much so that I was convinced my nails would just fall right off, when it came to do the French tip he did the usual white polish and took a brush to even it out and create the shape that I was looking for, but anytime I would put my hand under the nail lamp the white would bleed, I asked him if he could fix a couple fingers, and he seemed very irritated with his body language and the tone of his voice I just decided to deal with whatever I have and I'll fix it at home. The service was $100 for both the basic pedicure package and full set of acrylics. Super disappointing and the more I look at them the more I find things that are wrong. read more

so like basically the price is too up in the sky for real. But anyways I had gone there to get my nails done right and they messed me up. For real. Like they all were really friendly and nice. BUT TELL ME WHY MY NAILS ARE CROOKED. Or is it just my stupid ahh fingers. but anyways yeah. My toes and eyebrows were on fleek though so Ill give yall like a 3 or two. read more

I paid 45 dollars for gel nails which are supposed to last longer and two of them snapped off in the first few days of having them I used to go to a really bad place and I paid 25 dollars and even those crappy nails lasted. It's a good thing I can fix them with nail glue because otherwise it would have been a complete waste of money. Very disappointed. 2 stars. read more

I haven't been to Magic Nails probably since I was in high school a million years ago. That said, I took my friend's suggestion and stopped in to get my nails done. John did my nails and he was SO good and very nice. He was not rushed, was very detailed oriented and asked me tons of times if I liked everything. He shaped them perfectly - which is hard to find in this area where everyone wants boring square nails. This was my first time getting gel nails and I love them! I also got gel polish and stamping, which I didn't even know was a thing until I came here. The salon was clean and a lot bigger than I thought it would be. They had tons of pedicure chairs that looked brand new. I feel like Magic Nails is light years ahead of other area nail salons. They had tons of polishes, tons of design ideas and were just more up to date on current styles and products compared to other places I've been. I will definitely be back soon to get a pedicure. read more

First off, the person doing my pedicure showed me prices and I chose the regular pedicure, nothing fancy. She did the pedicure barely doing the bottom of my feet. When she was done she said $50!!! I got a mani/pedi and a haircut done here recently. Thamie is one of the newer nail techs and she did a good job on my nails. Nothing extraordinary but she did do a really cute hello kitty nail design on a couple of my nails which I just adore. See pic for visual. Thamie was also really sweet and fun to converse with. Prices were surprisingly expensive for a nail salon in this area. I paid basically what I paid while living in Sacramento, CA. manicures are $14 and pedicures are $25 but if you get both done its $25. the quality was up to par so I would return for my next nail service. my mom gets her hair cut here regularly by Tina. I'm really paranoid about people doing my hair but I gave her a shot since my mom recommended her. it was all going well until it came time to blow dry my hair and tina basically ditched me to help another customer so thamie dried my hair. however, it wasn't a fabulous round brush blow-out like I am used to so my hair was a mess afterwards. i usually have to tame my hair with the round brush or straightener to get it to look decent. also, bc she didn't style me she didn't even check to see if my layers were alright, which they weren't. the cut was cheap ($25) but I wasn't satisfied with the service at all. I almost cried lol. I will not be getting my hair cut here again. read more

My mother and I (along with friends that we later recommended) have been coming here for almost a decade... and unlike many of the nail/beauty salons around, this one hasn't become more decrepit. Tina, the owner, remodels or redecorates the place every couple of years. The current decor exudes a warm, earthy, spa-like ambiance that really puts us at ease... none of those glaring neon lights and white-washed walls like other places. This place is immaculately clean! This is the only place I know that uses a completely new set of tools for each client, which are then put into a tube, labeled with a number, and stored to the side of the waiting room. That way, when you come back, you just let Tina know your name or number and they'll use the same tools ONLY ON YOU. I know hygiene is a big concern for a lot of people so this was top notch in my book! The salon offers nail salon services, hair cuts (done by Tina), waxing, tanning, facials, and permanent makeup tattooing (done by Tina). If you don't know what the last option is, google it. I personally haven't tried it but my mom's friend had her eyebrows and eyeliner done and it looks great on her. I usually make appointments with Tina, but have been just as happy with the other employees (Ben and Tom). Everyone is very friendly and I like that even after almost a decade of coming here, I still look forward to getting my nails done. Oh, and the prices are reasonable. Not as expensive as a dayspa but a couple of dollars more than the mall. Totally worth it, in my opinion! I don't get my nails done very often, and the few times I have were in big cities, so I might be judging this harsher than other reviewers. Also, I think I just happened to get a particularly bad manicurist, because from what I heard/saw around me, the other ones were much better. I came in and asked for a manicure and was asked numerous times if I wanted a pedicure. Nope, just a manicure. Pretty much the only thing the manicurist would say to me every few minutes was "...so you want a pedicure too? Only a few more dollars." I tried thinking of different ways to say no: No, I had just gotten one, I don't have time, no I really don't want one. I told her I wanted my nails very short. Like, "lesbian who's doing work on the basement" short (I might have left that part out). She sort of sanded them and then went on to whatever steps happen next. As I said, I don't get my nails done much, so if I were more of a regular I guess I'd know to jump in and tell her to go shorter. I suppose I'm used to being asked if the length is alright. Their selection of gel polishes was pretty good, but the one I picked out ended up really thin on my nails instead of the very opaque look on the sample nail. The manicurist had to do three coats, I almost had her do a fourth. By the time she realized that I really wasn't going to get a pedicure, she seemed to just want to get me out of the salon. When I paid, she either overcharged me or the sign was incorrect or she charged me $7 for removing a bit of clear nail polish from a couple of my nails. read more

The manager today laughed at my face , as I realized that I was an hour early to appointment that will schedule at the wrong time. With no one in any seats, laughed and said 5:30 no mistakes. Honestly I don't give idiots money especially when your paying 45+ for nails. Work on your attitude, infront of my kids showing them your disgusting attitude. read more

I had been to Magic Nails in the past and had been very satisfied with their services. However, when I got a manicure for the first time there in over a year, I was so taken back by what happened. The woman cut the sides of each of my toe nails and then yanked the small sliver of nail out of the base of the toe. I told her it hurt and she simply said "so sorry". The toes were sore when I left and I hoped they would feel better. That did not happen. The first few days My toes throbbed and I had to soak them in warm Epsom salt water to get relief. It has been over a week and the large toes are still hurting. Now I am wondering what long term damage this may have caused. I will never return to this place as a result. read more

So today my sister and I went to get a full set and we spent $60 on these nails. We have been here before a very long time ago and have been very pleased. It's $25 for my sisters and $30 for mine Bc they were long. I told the guy that I wanted them short and he told that they were going to be short when he went to go file them. They didn't. Almost all of my nails were crooked and I can't even type with them because they're bending in. Each one of my nails are to think and bumpy. I stood under the dryer and was probably there for a good 20 minutes and as soon as I took them out they were fucked up. I am not happy. They were very aggressive and kept jerking my hands. I bring my girlfriend here whenever she needs her tanning and nails done. Unlike other salons, the environment here is nice and peaceful. The decor and ambiance of the place put you at ease. I highly recommend this place. Tina is a fantastic manager and she really caters to her customers. You can also get your hair done here and eyebrows tattooed as well. Try it! You'll love it! Mood set when walked in for my APPOINTMENT (not a walk-in) was that they had not idea of what I wanted, I had to re-explain to two different people. The person I made the appointment with (Tina) was not there and I had to take a young man that did not make one remark to me the entire time, he only motioned with his CHIN to put my nails under the light (was getting gel nails). I had been there in the past for a fill and a repaired nail; that particular day all was pleasant. I thought I would return for a full set. Mistake! I had a pedicure on April 18, 2017. The provider used a sharp tool and dug deep under my nail on to my nail bed making me wince with pain and then polished them. On May 14th the tip of my toe showed an infection and had a hard large white spot on it and even the sheets touching it at night caused me pain. I took my nail polish off and my nail was black. I ended up in Robert Packer ER, they had to open it up and remove the puss that had accumulated. I was surprised it took that long to fester, but the doctor assured me many infections do. I was diagnosed with paronychia of my right great toe. I'm not able to take antibiotics and I have to wait it out and watch for further infection. Soaking it three times a day in warm vinegar water, applying topical antiseptic and covering it loosely with gauze and unfortunately I can't wear closed shoes. It proved to me quite a costly pedicure! read more

I came into the salon today and asked the owner who usually does my eyebrows if she can do it for me. Today for some reason she was very rude and told me to come back in an hour or two or come back later tonight. I was anxious because I have a holiday party to go to for my job and I just started working there and wanted to look my best. I told her that I work at a hotel and that the general manager would be there at the party and I begged her to do my eyebrows. She told me no and in the meantime she was cutting a customer's hair and that customer was the only customer. The customer jumped in and told me to come back later. I asked the owner if she was the only person that does eyebrows and she said yes. She kept telling me to come back in a few hours. I told her it only takes 5 minutes to do my eyebrows but her and the customer told me to come back in a few hours. I almost cried because this was a place I trusted to go to and she broke my trust. I left and walked two blocks and called the place and asked them when can a person come in to do their eyebrows today and the owner told me 10 minutes . I was shocked and disgusted with this information since in the salon a few minutes earlier she told me to come back in a few hours. I then revealed I was the same customer she turned away and she sounded cold on the phone. I hung up without saying another word. I will not come back. read more
