It started as a great boba tea lounge with Japanese cheesecakes, but now it's more of a random pastry shop selling whatever the owner brings to the shop to sell. I miss the original vibe, but I kept coming back. Lately, though, the boba teas have been hit or miss, it really depends on who makes them. At this point, they're just not worth the price. What really bothered me today was seeing an automatic gratuity added to my receipt and the staff didn't mention it. The girl serving me didn't let me know about it, so I ended up leaving an extra tip on top of that without realizing. When I asked her about it, she said she didn't know when the policy started and that the automatic tip doesn't go to her, just the extra tip does. So either the owner is stealing from the staff, or she's is lying to get extra tips. Either way, it didn't seem right. I've stuck with this place through all its changes, but the lack of honesty and transparency is a deal-breaker for me. Sadly, I won't be coming back. I will definitely not come back for mediocre boba tea that comes with a 15% automatic gratuity.. SORRY!!

I wasn't even sure at that point she would show up. She would not respond to texts. In the end, I had to cancel party at least one week before due to Illness. she never gave me any money back. Zero customer service, hard to contact. She told me 'this is never happened before'. Really bad communication and even worse business practices. Buyer beware.

Rock Star Pastries immediately caught my eye due to the wonderful reviews and pics of Jessica's work posted here and on her website. Although Jessica's website stated that she preferred to have orders in weeks before, I crossed my fingers and sent my request several days before my friends and I flew into town. I guess crossing my fingers worked because Jessica was down to do my order! I wanted to avoid having your typical X-rated bachelorette cake so instead I requested to have a simple cake with an edible image of Zach Morris and AC Slater on it. Jessica had some really fun ideas for this cake, such as adding 80's inspired decorations, which got me even more excited about this cake. When she delivered it, the cake definitely exceeded my expectations. She did an awesome job on capturing a look from the opening credits of SBTB. All of the girls were in love with it, and the bachelorette's face lit up when we surprised her with the cake. It seriously took us half an hour of admiration and picture taking before it was time to cut the cake. That proved to be a little difficult since the bachelorette said it was too cute to cut apart. The flavors of the cake I chose were 4 layers of red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting between the layers. Covering the cake was a vanilla butter cream frosting with fondant as the top layer. Let me tell you, this had to be one of the best red velvet cakes I've had so far! The cake was also moist and the cream cheese frosting was not too sweet either. Over the duration of our stay, all 10 of us managed to finish this cake, which was good to feed roughly 16-18 people. Overall, Jessica definitely did a wonderful job on not only decorating the cake but managed to deliver a delicious and reasonably priced cake. My little one immediately noticed the glitter and pink from across the way, so we had to pop over and try some boba and desserts. I ordered my usual, the orange chicken, with brown rice, the rice, vegetables, and even the chicken were tasty. However, the chicken was a little uninspired. I say this because I like my dishes with plenty of sauce. However, this one had very little sauce; it was almost dry. My friend had to send back her side dishes of broccoli and mashed potato. The broccoli was hard, almost cold. The mashed potato was at close to room temperature. To their credit they did let her keep her honey chicken and brought replacement sides. I was originally going to keep this four stars and chalk it up to an off day. However, the cleanliness or lack thereof in the bathroom forces me to write this down to three stars. We waited for an extended period without anyone acknowledging our table or even introducing themselves. Eventually, I had to ask another employee if she could find someone to help us. A server finally appeared and told us he would be with us shortly, but we continued waiting. When he eventually took our drink order, he did so with a noticeable attitude, as if we were inconveniencing him. To make matters worse, more than 10 minutes passed and our drinks still hadn't arrived. At that point, we decided to leave. Restaurants get busy, and most customers understand that. What is difficult to understand is being ignored, receiving poor service when asking for help, and then waiting even longer for something as simple as drinks. For what was supposed to be a birthday celebration, the experience was incredibly disappointing.

Overall the food was great but....service was definitely lacking. When we entered we were the only people there but the employee was on a FaceTime call with 7 or 8 other people. She propped up her phone and they just kept talking in the background. She seemed like she was either having a horrible day or just hated her job. Didn't greet us, couldn't really hear her at all, seemed bothered that we came in at all. She was more interested in getting back to her call than actually helping. This is the…read moreexperience I had with them: The day of my cake tasting (two months before my wedding) my parents and I told Tina's Original Cakes that we wanted a cake similar in size to the cake on the display (picture attached, the big one). They told me that my package included with the venue did not include that size, but that they were going to add cardboard to the cake to make it look bigger. They said they did that all the time, and that it was not a problem. We said awesome, that works. So fast forward to TWO DAYS before my wedding, and they send me an IM (they don't even call me) telling me that the "owner had not approved the cardboard upgrade, and that what they told me the day of my cake tasting was incorrect. That if I wanted a bigger cake, I had to pay for the upgrade." I told them they had to honor what they said since it was in the contract, and they weren't giving me any notice to find another vendor for my dream cake. However, they refused to honor the "cardboard upgrade". After speaking back and forth for a while, they said that they could do the height "2 inches less" than what I had requested, but they failed to mention that it would be 2 inches less for EACH TIER, not in total. I also paid an additional $50 to not have the top tier with any cardboard (they said they would put cardboard to make the cake look bigger, but the cake didn't look bigger to me at ALL (picture of my wedding cake attached, the smaller cake). It also looks slanted and it tasted dry. And when we compromised on the "2 inches less" they sent me a picture of what the height of my cake would look like, but my wedding cake did not look like that at all (picture attached, cake with IM conversation). The day after my wedding, I told them I wanted a refund and that I wasn't happy, but again, they also refused to work with me on something that they clearly messed up in. Hence I just wanted to let everyone know (especially brides) that this place does not care one hoot about customer service and they won't honor what they promise. The owner also refused to call me when THEY were the one that made the mistake. They added additional stress that I did not need so close to my wedding day. And the cake of my dreams turned out to be something completely different than what I had in mind. Luckily every single thing on my wedding was incredible and all vendors were amazing except for this bad experience. If I could give 0 stars I would!
