I highly recommend this place. Found thru Yelp of course. I don't know is she was the owner but she was very welcoming and helped me choose what we wanted as appetizers. We chose the mini Meat Pies and cheese bread. The meat pies are quite yummy- has a tiny kick but a good one! :) We bought one medium pizza- I forget the name but it was like a meat lovers with game/ sausage/ bacon and of course pepperoni. We ate there. They have fountain soda. It's a small place but VERY CLOSE to the WW2 museum. We were kicking ourselves that we didn't go there for lunch the day before when we were at that museum so I wanted to spread the word to other museum patrons. Plus EXTRA HALF STAR (5.5 stars!)-- because they give a military discount- THANK YOU!

I enjoyed food. One suggestion for one of the items. Service was good. I ordered takeout. I have not had the chance to sit down and eat but it was clean.

Exhausted from the day we decided to order in. Listen, pizza is a staple and a must try in every single place you visit. When you're traveling with little people (cheese). I like veggies and a protein and I NEVER get the same thing twice. Corn...nope! Artichoke...nah. A good crust with some chew; spicy sauce; fresh basil YeS. Hold the yellow squash and cranberries please. the website said 1 hour; it took like 15 minutes. We were impressed with how fast it was. Accurate with the order and a great pie. Okay NOLA... this one is a hit. I think this is a hit. Definitely a memorable pie

I ordered delivery, so I can't speak on atmosphere or service yet. But, for a $20 personal sized pizza, I just would have expected more flavor from the ingredients. Pretty bland which could be due to the onion not being cooked and cut too large..or perhaps their sauce is milder than most. However, I will say, that all ingredients are fresh, and the pizza crust is seasoned perfectly, with great fluffiness AND crunch..better than your regular pizza place by far.

Not one bad thing to say about our post Krewe of Boo hangry visit. Luckily, we arrived before the Krewe of Boo bash goers stampeded in. It wasn't that bad on the folks who came to eat, but it was building a crowd. We enjoyed our visit. The restaurant itself is on a corner. Your parking options may be limited, but we chose to use the WW2 Museum parking garage. So there's that option. It is small, with limited tables and seating. Pizza was really good. I haven't heard a bad word from the locals either. So stop when you can. Tip your wait staff. Reasonable on the prices.. the drafty odor on the way to the restroom... is my only warning. ‼

Summary 5/5 Food 4.5/5 Better than I expected Service 5/5 Friendly and fast Ambience 4.5/5 A staff member, at The National World War II museum recommended this place and it was less than a block away, making it a short detour from our day there. Nice little place, kind of a hole-in-the wall feel. Clean, quiet, nice decor, friendly staff and a slightly wobbly table. Our server Raven was very nice and the 10" pepperoni pizza we ordered was hot, crispy, good flavor in the sauce, pepperoni, and crust. The cheese was not as "cheesy" as some others, still It was delicious and just the right size for the two of us. As we were leaving, the owner, Matt, stopped by to chat and told us about the improvements he had made to the restaurant. If you have a craving for fast, hot pizza in a friendly atmosphere, this would be a great choice. Highly recommended.

Did not have high expectations for this place at all...but MY OH MY???? This place was SO GOOD!!!! My gosh, the fresh and crispy pizza was mind-blowing. And especially for the price they are selling this at??? WOW. The quality of the ingredients to the dough, is remarkable. While I wish there was a bit more cheese & jalapeños on my breadsticks...hey, that marinara sauce made up for it--I don't know if I've had a better tasting marinara sauce yet???? Super chill vibes here--it's a pizza place but one that is a unique gem and just absolutely BANGER.

I love good pizza spot and after our museum outing this place was walking distance from where we were. The pizza was fire, the service was great and the garlic bread was also delicious! I would definitely come back and try other pizza options on the menu.

Little did I know when I stumbled on this place years ago, I would be living near it some time later! Late night spot, popular casual ambiance. Busy lines but they get you through and with your food quickly and half the cost than some food, wine and drinks than the other bars or restaurants on this stretch. Anything you get from here is good!

10" Margherita Pizza

Alright, so I ordered a Margherita pizza for delivery. The whole thing. Mozzarella, tomato, fresh mozzarella, basil, oregano, parmesan, garlic herb butter sauce. Sounds decent, right? But then I got hungry-greedy. I went for the thin crust and then started adding shit: pepperoni, mushrooms, roasted garlic. And you know what? The pizza was... fine. Actually, it was better than fine, it was good. Too good, maybe. It felt gourmet, which isn't what I was looking for. Sometimes you just want a fucking pizza, not an experience. Even the small thin crust was a beast. And with tip, this thing came out to nearly thirty-five dollars. Thirty-five bucks! Look, does Magazine Pizza beat the hell out of Domino's or Pizza Hut? Obviously. It's not even a contest. But if you're just some person who wants a simple, cheap slice of pizza? This ain't it. This is for when you're trying to impress someone, or yourself, and your wallet is feeling masochistic.

Margarita Pizza

A decent pizza with some shortcomings that remind me of the 90's. I stopped in for a quick bite to eat and ordered a Caesar salad and a Margarita pizza. The salad was standard fare, nothing too special to write home about. The pizza was tasty and savoury but there's a bit too much grease that collected on top and underneath. I'm not sure if Magazine Pizza is aiming for the Pizza Hut/Chuck-e-Cheese deep dish style pizza of years gone by where napkins became transparent but I think it detracts from the rest of the experience. I would order from here again next time I'm in town to try a different pizza and see if it's the same.

Ordered a pizza to our hotel (Eliza Jane) and it arrived promptly (great service). After a fun evening exploring the city and enjoying a few drinks at the hotel bar, it was the perfect, delicious finish to our night. Highly recommend!

Yes it's a small Italian deli and shop but it's also the home of the original muffuletta sandwich, opening in 1906. I hate olives, but I was converted by this sandwich. It's the perfect ratio and the bread is simply exquisite. If you're in New Orleans, you must stop here.

I…read morenever ever write reviews because I believe they hurt small businesses and feeds the egos of the ignorant, but that being said this place pissed me the fuck off with their service. I come to central deli whenever I'm with someone not from New Orleans due to the fact their muffuletta is quintessential! I would like to reiterate nothing was wrong with the food , great food purely with the lady taking orders. I got a classic half muffuletta and a "glass" San pellegrino. The lady then told me open glass is prohibited in New Orleans , I retorted with "o really I didn't know that , since when?" Before I could finish The lady then yelled with "SINCE FOREVER, IM SORRY YOUVE BEEN TO BAD BARS WHERE THEY SERVE YOU GLASS ITS BEEN ILLEGAL SINCE THE 50s" which isn't true the city changed the law in 2001. She then proceeded to open my glass bottle even though I told her I didn't want it open, so I the asked if I could get another one since she was in rage mode and didn't understand that she just contradicted herself. As I asked for the second San Pellegrino, she then takes the first one and goes "NO PROBLEM THANKS FOR THE FREE DRINK", and starts to drink the San Pellegrino infront of me as I check out, making thirst quenching noises like "AHH". As I leave she can't help but remind me for her free drink again. I'm pretty sure the management witness this whole situation and I hope they do something about, that lady doesn't realize what hospitality is and needs to be fired. I did nothing to her and I bet I wasn't the first she has blow up on. But in my eyes absolutely unacceptable.

I'm not an authority on poboys, but I've been told this is not really a traditional poboy and that it's more of a cross between poboy and bahn mi, with all the pickled vegetables. I know I love bahn mi, so I was sold. It's tucked away at the back of the bar, which is already pretty small. But the service was so friendly. I placed my order and then went to the front of the house to grab a frozen Irish coffee. There's one six people ish table and some small bar space in the Killer Poboys area, so I sat by the bar solo until my sandwich came out. I got the grilled shrimp poboy-- it reminded me a lot of the grilled shrimp sandwich from Num Pang, which is an NYC institution I miss dearly. But the bread is much softer and plentiful. The mayo and the overflowing pickled carrots makes it a messy experience. For Gulf shrimp, the fishy taste was almost nonexistent, a testament to the good seasoning and grilling. I wish we would all be so lucky to have late night bar eats like this.

If you are reading this, which of course I know you are, BE PREPARED FOR A LONG WAIT! If you read…read morethe whole review I'll give you the best tip on how to skip the line (insert shushing emoji) and don't cheat by skipping to the end! Hands down, the best po'boys in all of NOLA. Everything is made from scratch (except the bread, which they source locally), and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My personal favorites are the Surf & Turf and the James Brown. The Surf & Turf gives you get the best of both worlds (shout out to Hannah Montana). Look it up kids. You get the slow-cooked roast beef with gravy plus fresh Gulf shrimp. Shut the front door! The James Brown is just as incredible: juicy BBQ beef, pepper jack cheese, fried shrimp, and a hot sauce mayo. Bring napkins - you'll need them. Pro tip: go with a group and order a few different po'boys to share. You'll want to try everything. You made it to the end, so here we go. I feel like gate keeping (look it up old-timers), but I'm going to be generous because I love y'all. In order to skip the line, go to the bar area and find a high top or seat at the bar. A seat always opens up quickly. It never fails. You can order from the bartender and the service is top notch. Cheers y'all!

Parkway Bakery & Tavern -- 4…read more Okay... let's start with the bread, because baby in New Orleans that's where it's won or lost. And THIS bread? Yeah... they did that. Soft, fresh, easy bite. Not that hard French bread that have you pulling and pulling like you in a workout and your jaw about to lock up. As a born and raised New Orleans girl, I'm real particular about my French bread because the bread will make or break your sandwich. I don't know if they bake it in-house or source it, but whatever they doing... keep doing it. Now before I even got the food, let me talk about ordering because that was a little journey. I ordered online and initially had some issues. I actually had to go through Google and search to even find the right website. It wasn't super easy to register or navigate at first, but once I got to the correct site, it was smooth sailing from there. I placed my order, got a time window, and they gave very clear, precise directions on what to do when I pulled up. Now pulling up, I did have to go around the corner to get into the drive-thru situation, but when I tell you... they have a SYSTEM. Very organized. Cars lined up, steady flow, and it looked like business was booming. There's artwork outside, multiple stations, and everything just felt like it ran with purpose. I walked up to the first booth, told the man my name, and he already knew my food was ready. Directed me to pull up to the red light where pickup was, no confusion, no chaos. They don't play. They stand on business and I respect that. Now the food... The shrimp were nicely fried, good size too. Not them little tiny ones where you gotta search through the sandwich just to find one. Every bite had shrimp, evenly distributed, and seasoned well. That's how it's supposed to be. The sauce was good too. It had that New Orleans style BBQ feel to it, kind of like a BBQ shrimp sauce. Messy in a good way. Now the roast beef... Flavor was there, but texture-wise it leaned a little dry for me. It wasn't juicy like I expected. It did say it comes with pepper jack, but I didn't really catch that flavor. Granted, I did add onions and mustard, so that could've played a part. Overall though, it's still worth trying again. Next time I'm probably going to order it as-is, no changes, just to really get the full experience the way they intended. But yeah... Parkway definitely earned a spin back.
