I have been traveling to Madrid from the US for work for two week stints about every other month, I happened to find this place a few trips ago and love it. I introduced it to my co-workers and now it has become a regular spot we go to multiple times each time we come. For me, it is nice to have a place when I am traveling here by myself that I can walk into, order to take-away, get my food in less than 10 minutes, and then either go back to the hotel if I have to get some more work done or walk over to Retiro Park and people watch while enjoying my food! When I have co-workers with me, we do try to sit in and eat together, which is also a nice option.
The oatmeal chocolate cinnamon cookies are worth 5 stars on their own. I have tried almost all of the smoothies at this point and have enjoyed them all. The nomanches de pollo sandwich and sobrino consentido salad are what I tend to gravitate back to, but I have tried other items off the menu and really enjoyed them all. I think the waitstaff there recognizes me now (probably can't help it when a woman who orders in half English/half butchered Spanish comes in every other day for 2 or 3 week periods every couple of months), and I have always had friendly interactions with them all. Overall, a great spot that I am happy to have found.
One thing that would be much appreciated as a person who is still working on their Spanish - have at least one menu translated into other languages :) I have ordered a number of items and enjoyed them all so far, but if I knew what everything on the menu that would be very helpful!
Another suggestion would be to open earlier! I would love to have their smoothies and other breakfast options when I am in town, but they do not open until 9am which is after I am already working. read more
