This place has the best chicken teriyaki meal downtown. I also get the chicken fried rice when I'm here too. I think the food is fresh and seasoned really good. I love their teriyaki sauce and the people are nice! This is definitely a cute little sushi spot!

This place is incredible. We were greeted with miso soup while we looked at the menu. We ordered a baked roll of fried roll and two fresh rolls. The fried roll is absolutely perfect of all of the fried rolls I've ever had because it was perfectly fried but then the fish was still fresh and raw on the inside. The baked roll was to die for and the too fresh rolls were just so unique and refreshing definitely would come back to this place again if we were in LA.

Great pregame sushi spot near Crypto.com Arena. Perfectly located in Downtown LA, right outside our favorite sports venue, this has become our go-to pregame meal when we're in the mood for sushi. They're used to the sports crowd, so they know how to get you in and out quickly--plenty of time before puck drop or tip-off, depending on what you're there to see. The name recently changed due to new ownership, but the food, service, and overall experience are still just as solid as ever. If you're looking for no-frills, no-fuss sushi at a fair price, this is a great option.

We came by on a Sunday night around 7pm after reading the glowing Yelp reviews earlier in the day, and I'm so glad we did! We were sat immediately by the super friendly staff. The menu is pretty extensive, so it took us some time to look through everything, but the wait staff kept checking in to make sure they weren't keeping us waiting. We ended up going with the Amazing roll, the Legend roll, the 3 Musketeer roll, and the Big Boss roll (one from each of the four categories). Honestly, everything was delicious! The standouts were the Amazing and the Legend. The Amazing was so fresh and drenched in this light cilantro sauce that is to die for. The Legend was creamy and saucy and packed with flavor. The vibes inside are cool, just a local sushi spot feel with chill music and large windows to satisfy your DTLA people watching dreams. Not sure what the parking sitch is like as we are local and were able to walk over, so keep that in mind if you are not local to DTLA that parking is probably a challenge. But between the amazing food, great prices, and stellar service, I will definitely be back to try more rolls and their spicy miso ramen!

I've eaten at this sushi restaurant before, but I think it had a different name. Must've gone under a new company. I was hesitant to try this place, because the last time at ate here (previous sushi restaurant), it wasn't good. Glad I gave this new one a try. It was delicious. The interiors looks similar to the previous company.

Yummy speedy sushi! The veggie egg roll was not great, but our sushi started arriving quickly, and that was great. I highly appreciate the spicy salmon roll, the Amazing roll, the crispy rice with spicy tuna, and the 3 musketeers tempura roll (a deep fried roll). My coworkers also liked the Outlaw roll (it has baked scallops, not my thing). We also had giant bottles of Sapporo and Kirin light.

Went here with my friend around 3 on a Sunday and luckily it wasn't too busy so we got seated immediately. For a restaurant in the heart of LA, and a bit contrary to its "edgy" name, Mafia Sushi is decorated in a way that allows lots of natural light and gives out such a quaint and serene vibe. The music was gentle and thus allowed easy conversation. All the staff were very friendly and sweet. Not only were we greeted and seated immediately, all the orders came very quickly. Everyone was attentive, and condiments and water were always filled without the need to request. The food itself was indeed the star. It's easy to tell that the ingredients were fresh, and all the cuts were thick and juicy, making each and every bite a satisfying experience. LB SUN was amazing. Not only was the plating stunning, resembling both a seashell, and also a setting sun, the taste is superb. It had a unique sweet and creamy texture yet light and also hints of chili. To contrast with the creaminess of LB Sun, FANTASTIC 4 had a more refreshing taste with 4 different seared fish on top of 4 different salad. The light tang and sweetness of the salads complemented so well with the thick juicy cuts of fish. Out of the 4 salads, the cucumber was my personal favorite because it leaned more on the sweeter side while my friend really enjoyed both the seaweed salad and the octopus salad. The SCORPION KING was also on the refreshing side with the flavors leaning on the light tanginess. It was built to look like a scorpion, too! Such a cute touch to highlight the name of the dish! Last but not least, the PUNK has a similar favor profile to the LB Sun with its sweet and creamy sauce. However, it's not heavy at all as there were plenty of fresh veggies as well as the soy paper to balance out the creamy sauce. For the nowadays, the pricing at Mafia Sushi is also incredible and very affordable, especially considering the location (DTLA), the portion, the quality of the food, and the attention to details and flavors of the chefs. If you're in the area, definitely give them a try!

This was super close to the Pico metro stop just one block away, and it was spacious and nice atmosphere. Menu is extensive. Foods were pretty fast, but size is a little small imo. Presentation is not bad, could be better. Flavor is a little light, including both the wasabi and ginger. Fish was fresh. The rice-free rolls were interesting, I like the one I ordered but not sure if it's worth the price? Also couldn't tell the mango flavor at all, which was why I ordered it. Maybe it's just how much it normally is in LA. We still enjoyed it, but I think even their specialty rolls didn't seem too interesting to me. I think they could go even more creative with stronger flavors and incorporate more fruity take on the specialty ones.

Expansive sushi menu with all of the basics as well as some others to please everyone, including ramen and other uncommon dishes at other sushi restaurants. Fish is fresh and reasonably priced. Handrolls were a little underwhelming but the nigiri is great.

This place recently changed ownership but the selection and quality is as good if not better than the previous business. They have an excellent selection of sushi, sashimi, hand rolls as well as various plates such as katsu. The eel avocado hand roll was fantastic. Service was stellar as well. Great spot to grab a meal before a lakers game.

What an amazing gem of a restaurant! The customer service was great and the food was delicious. We got the edamame to share. I enjoyed the chicken teriyaki and my husband got the spicy chicken ramen. Everything came out quick and hot. This place was a short walk from our hotel and well worth it. Highly recommend!

A Hidden Gem Near the Convention Center! I'm so glad I found this new sushi spot just a 5-minute walk from the downtown convention center! The sashimi was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the service was genuinely warm and attentive. It feels like a completely new place compared to before the ownership change -- the entire menu has been revamped, and there are so many creative and special dishes I can't wait to try next time. Definitely a great addition to the neighborhood!

One of the best sushi spots I've had a in a while actually. We didn't really do any appetizers and went straight in for the fish. Started off with a couple of hand rolls, we did the crab hand roll and O toro hand roll. Crab hand roll wasn't as impressive, I've had better to be honest. I didn't let that experience ruin it for me because the toro hand roll was delicious. I think they add a piece of mint and it complimented the hand roll. Very crunchy nori wrapper and good rice to fish ratio. For our sushi we started with chu toro tuna, salmon belly, and halibut. Super fresh melt in your mouth quality. Halibut was interesting with the truffle, first time definitely won't be the last. We ended it with red snapper and black snapper. Absolutely amazing, I think the black snapper or the red snapper was slightly charred. It was so good. To say the least, this restaurant was worth it!

When I made reservations on the phone I asked about the latest reservation and confirmed 10 pm - however I asked if I could sit at the bar and they said not at that time since they closed at 11. When we arrived, there was a couple coming in at 10 and sat at bar...maybe just miscommunication but tha could have prevented us from consuming our food quick and skipping on alcohol since the table we got was not the best. Sushi felt very fresh and there's something about the way they make the rolls that feels different about other places (not sure if in a good way) Great staff and sushi chefs- they were super fast moving from one course to the next one.

A lot more focus on creative cocktails and drink pairings instead of just sake or wine. This is a great place to try Japanese whiskey, they even have little lockers where regular patrons can store their expensive bottles they've bought for when they return, and you are welcome to grab an additional drink and chill in the space afterwards if you'd like.
