Perfect roadside stop for those camping during wetter days or on a rural Alberta travels. We stopped here after packing up from camping for brunch. Basic grill items (my cousin really loved her fish burger) and a huge variety of hearty breakfast options. I went with my classic choice Eggs Benedict with potatoes chunks (there was an option for shredded). Decent size of meal but nothing spectacular about the breakfast. Looking for simply solid food, this is the place to go in this part of Alberta. Next door is a flea market of sorts (only noticed it as I was driving away but that could be fun to check out first and then go for food afterwards before heading back to camping). I appreciated the ramp along the side of the building as the stairs up were really tough on my knees. Lovely staff and calm atmosphere within the restaurant. I'm sure I'll be back again when we go camping next year.

A small little cafe just off the intersection of the A-12 (on your way to Stettler) and the 835 (which leads to Buffalo Lake), the grill is a nice rest and good food. On my visit today, I tried the Erskine Burger, which is a 6oz patty overwhelmed with mushrooms, cheese and gravy. And it was excellent. The patty was perfectly cooked, homestyle, not a frozen thing smashed into tastelessness. The patty was juicy, flavorful and cooked right. The mushrooms held into the melted cheese were great and the layer of gravy made it a real Canadian treat! The dining area is small but can fit a crowd of about 20. The staff is very kind and answered our questions and explained everything. Prices were very reasonable and we had lunch on a budget of about 28 for two people which is very good these days. I will definitely be back. If you have a chance to visit the Erskine Grill, I strongly encourage to do so. Happy travels, and happy eating!

The Bistro is a bit easy to miss - it has a modest storefront, and looks a bit dark from the outside. When you walk inside though, the business has a nice cozy feeling: wooden chairs and leather accented tables, as well as big comfy lounge chairs and 2-person booths, highlighted by local artwork on the walls. It's a counter-service affair, and you can order coffee and espresso drinks, milkshakes and floats, plus an assortment of soups, sandwiches, salads, sweets and ice cream. They also do a breakfast first thing I the morning for the early risers and office crowd. The staff is always super friendly, and quick to clean a table or help where they can. Basically everything is made-to-order, so you're going to get fresh food. An average lunch typically runs me about $10, a bit more if I opt for a latte instead of a pop, so the value is great too. This is definitely a place to check out if you'd like a change of pace from the fast food and pricey restaurants otherwise nearby. I understand they also do catering and they're pretty accommodating.

Tollers Bistro's food is certainly worthy but since each of its previous five ratings are fives, I'll go against the grain with a four, as there is always room for improvement. Located in a small strip mall, it's a high ceiling open space that lends itself well to safe dining. Tables are nicely separated and booths have guards between them. However, there is no sanitizer available at the entrance and I noticed the waitress seating customers without masks, so a little more effort regarding patron's safety would be nice. The food is excellent. Great menu, lots of choice and really interesting. We did some sharing, fish tacos, sweet potato fries, and cauliflower bites. Fish was battered, not normally my favourite, but was light and really tasty. Maybe the best sweet potatoes ever and the cauliflower bites are a meal, lightly breaded and tasty, maybe too big to be shared with just two people, most of ours came home. Staff is friendly and attentive. Waitress didn't know the beer list and suggested I "go look", which is fine but there weren't that many to remember. She did, however, bring us a takeaway box without being asked as she noticed the cauliflower bites still lingering on the plate. I can agree with the previous fives, but there is always room for improvement, at Tollers it's just some attention to detail. Great spot!

Today we were in Camrose so we stopped in for lunch. The first thing we noticed is that the café has the ambiance of Ikea. That's good or not good depending on your preferences. It certainly has a clean feel to it and you can see into the bakery through some glass doors. On the menu everything seemed to be the same price at $17.50 in 2022. I ordered the Lefse Wrap with beef. It was okay. The Lefse itself was quite good but the beef wasn't anything special. Still, it's a nice size and seems to be popular. At first I thought it was expensive but then I discovered that each meal includes dessert. With the dessert included the price seems reasonable. It's not a dessert like pie or anything large like that but any baked goods under the front glass counter is included. I had the Lingonberry chocolate puffs and I got two served with cream. The presentation was beautiful and they were delicious. Service was first rate. The young lady was pleasant, cheerful and seemed to genuinely appreciate our business. Coffee came with refills. This is a destination café and makes for an enjoyable lunch. I recommend it. Oh and they sell lots of Swedish themed gifts from Swedish flags of all sizes to mittens.
