My best friend and I were in town visiting her daughter at UGA. We decided to try a restaurant that doesn't exist back home. I'm giving it 4 stars because the food is healthy and fresh. Flavor however, is lacking. I was underwhelmed. That's the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars. I didn't realize the broccoli would be cold. That also threw me off. It was empty when we arrived and we were served immediately. The environment was a bit stale but only because the place was empty. If you enjoy minimal seasoning, you will love it here. I liked it, but I didn't love it.

Tofu with Black Bean Salad (served cold) and Kale Salad (served cold) over Salad Greens

This is a local chain that has a second location in Athens and one somewhere in Atlanta. It's a fast casual bowl place, but unlike a lot of these it really emphasizes Southern style flavors. It's also notably vegetarian and vegan-friendly. Indeed, in addition to green or grain options to start my bowl, various side options that were mostly plant-based, I had two very different protein options. Considering the tofu which was described as being flavored with nutritional yeast and tamari, I thought that this would either be really basic or mouthwateringly delicious. It turns out that it was lightly blackened and quite addictive. My kale and bean salad were also quite good. This is a nice place to eat inside or outside. The parking lot is small and was quite busy while I was there but there are no other businesses immediately around and there are other parking spots. My big negative was that the salad I started my bowl with was really not much, and the size of a bowl for the price was not quite what I'd hoped, particularly for this being in a college town. The stuff in the bowl was interesting and delicious and quite good for most diets.

Like a healthier Chipotle! Lots of delicious, fresh options! My bowl was so delicious! I loved the unique combination of flavors and unique offerings. The only thing that I didn't love was the peach tea.

This place is like a Chiptole but healthier. From mostly vegan and veggie options with alternatives like chicken and pork, you can't go wrong here. I placed an online order and picked it up and the only reason I knocked a star was because they messed up my order. It would have been okay if I had not been picking up for my co-workers. They gladly fixed the issue and I got to keep the wrong order too. I love their chicken, sweet potatoes and their brussell salad! I did not care much for their mac and cheese, it seemed a little sour. I will be back to try more options.

This was an amazing stop for Vegan take out while we were in Athens. I came for moral support, but I was also intrigued as to what Vegan options are available. Apparantly the Fritters Plate is the best one. After some hesitation and needing to read the various choices, I ordered the Pork Plate. Two scoops of a mashed sweet potato and a macaroni and savory long cut green beans and the pulled salty pork is heaped on top. A nice looking 'to go' bowl. I wanted my sauces on the side and received a scriracca red blend, and an oily Ginger concoction. The red one is much better. Maepole is a great sounding name for serving up comfort foods. A quick use of a clean RR and we are back on the road. I had a filling Maepole meal once we got home.

Eating the boxcar again w chicken instead of pork, tasting great as always. Will always choose this over the fast food that I have by my work

Stopped in on a Sunday morning and it was not crowded so able to grab some tables for our group…read more The employee greeted us at the counter right away and we were able to place our order and get our drinks to sit and catch up with each other. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time with our large order and since it was quiet it gave us good time to chat. All of the food came out hot and prepared as ordered. The eggs were cooked perfectly and I enjoyed the waffle since it was more savory with the breakfast sandwich. My kids both loved their fries and sandwiches they ordered. Said the fries were cooked great and had LOTS of toppings. The chicken on the sandwich was also tender and juicy! They really also enjoyed their order. We were visiting the area and wishing we had one in our area as I could see this becoming a go to place.

Idk why but I was expecting a sit down restaurant. I'd had it saved in my list of places to check…read moreout but didn't really read through the reviews before going. I wanted a raw experience, not influenced by others. So I was a bit deflated when we walked in and it was counter-order setup but that's okay. There seemed to be only one person working. She was really nice and helpful but surely busy, which was fine, but as we were leaving the crowd started hitting and I wondered how well she could manage that solo. I could be wrong though, someone may have been in back and I just couldn't see. I ordered the Overhard Egg, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Melted Cheddar, Mayo Waffle with Spiced Tots (nice). Hubby ordered the Super Cluck with Maple Glazed Chicken, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Cheddar, Sriracha Mayo, Sunny-Side Up Egg. Mine was good, his was super yummy, just the right amount of heat and sweetness. Oh! I also gotta mention the REAL Vermont Maple Syrup. That's very much appreciated over corn syrup garbage. Nice touch! We both had regular coffees. I would've liked a decaf option, since I'm a bit intolerant to caffeine but I can drink it. The coffee had good flavor. I think maybe having the creamers in disposable individual ramekins is probably just extra work if not for to-go orders but that's whatever. It's a cool place and I can see why it's popular. The food hits and if I lived closer we'd probably frequent this spot. Worth checking out if you haven't been.

No reservation, waited in nice open lobby, seated relatively quick. Server was very nice, entire staff was hustling with purpose. Food was great! Tater tots for the appetizer. Kids burger looks to be an adult size and delicious. Kids chicken tenders are very tasty. Fries are legit. Salad was good. Nashville "hot" but not really was good! Definitely recommend and would go back when in town.

As it is, I'd still give them a 4.75 stars for such a lovely experience. I would still say you NEED to eat here if you are here on Sunday! Just be warned to wear not slip shoes! They actually take reservations for Sunday brunch, so that's already a plus. When we were running a bit late, Indie was truly a joy to talk with, and she made the change without a hiccup! Once we got there, she was even more welcoming and got us seated in no time. Before I explain my concern, let me make it clear that we will certainly be back when we visit Athens! The location is so close to the UGA campus it's a no-brainer. There was plenty of street parking around, including handicap, so it's easy to get to. While the front entrance is almost hilariously plain and non-descript, the interior is really beautiful!! I felt like we walked into a The Great Gatsby. My daughter was tickled by the ever-changing ticker sign over the bar. Everyone loved the stained glass and deep colors. Even the bathrooms were like being at Grand Central Station in the 20's. And the food!!! We tried all the classic Southern Soul Food staples, and they did NOT disappoint! From the fried green tomatoes, to the shrimp & grits, to an enormous French Toast, they put their foot in it!! Bravo! I have to note that the fried chicken is truly crave-able--crispy, juicy, & flavorful!! The fried green tomatoes were cornbread crispy and delicious! Fair warning that they do have a bit of a bite to them, so check with your littles. We appreciated that they offered egg whites in any dish with eggs, but I wish there was a non-pork substitute for some dishes. There's a vegan selection, but it's just not the same, so we didn't try it. Maybe next time! I lived my goat cheese omelette, and the portion was big enough I got to take some home with me. Just wonderful food all around. The beignets were divine! And it ended up being my daughter's birthday dessert/app. And then we just kept ordering more. Cannot say enough great things about our server--and my mind goes blank because I wish I could remember her name!! She was great the entire time for our whole 9-top group. She kept the waters filled, she cleared plates along the way, she was welcoming and engaging, and we just all enjoyed being here because of it. While we waited for some of our party to arrive, we were directed to a beautiful lobby adjacent to the restaurant. Unfortunately, the floor was exceptionally slippery--like an oily kind of slippery that is not conducive to an 88-year-old using a walker kind of slippery. I was a little worried for my F & MIL. The elevator is so far from where we needed to be that it wasn't worth the risk, so we chose to go up the 2 steps at the front entrance. Luckily for us, everyone was able to move around with care this time.

Highly Recommended, Unfortunately Not Impressed…read more I visited Trappeze Pub after it came highly recommended, so I was looking forward to having a good experience. Unfortunately, my visit was disappointing for several reasons. I asked to sit outside because the weather was really nice. However, after being seated, I waited about 15 minutes before anyone came to take my order which turned out to be the same male host that greeted me. My server came to take my order and said I forgot about you. What made it more frustrating was that the restaurant was not particularly busy around 2:00 PM. Once my order was taken, I had to ask for basic things such as cutlery and more water. I ordered a burger and fries, and typically the server will ask how I would like the burger cooked, but that question was never asked. After finishing my meal, I eventually had to get up and go inside to pay my tab because my server never returned to the table. The food itself was fine, but the overall service and attention to detail really took away from the experience. When a restaurant comes highly recommended, expectations are naturally higher, and unfortunately, this visit did not live up to them. I hope this was simply an off day, but based on my experience, I left feeling underwhelmed.
