Casual and simple but tasty food. You order at the counter but they bring food to you with serve yourself coffee. Good daily special- eggs cooked to order perfectly. French toast was good with log-cabin type syrup on the table. Great crispy bacon and the biscuits & gravy.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I like a nice local breakfast spot where the people serving the food know the locals who eat there. It's just a nice casual place to grab some coffee, eggs, and meat for breakfast. Nothing fancy here. Self-serve coffee station, and your order at the counter. They do bring the food to your table, though.

Awesome small mom & pop type diner. Good size servings & good pricing! The biscuits were amazing! Also the fried egg & bologna was great!

Open kitchen for all to see!

November marked six months since this local  family owned and operated restaurant opened in a former garage that's been transformed into a clean, warm and welcoming spot that's fast becoming a popular place for locals and visitors. Mae-Maes Joint in Foley serves fresh made to order breakfasts, burgers, sandwiches, and more. It's located at on the SE corner of County Roads 65 & 12 at 8690 Co Rd 65 and is open from 6am to 2pm Tuesday through Saturday and closed Sunday & Monday with breakfast available until 2PM.  I have been there on multiple occasions and have tried quite a few of their menu items as well as brought a number of friends and neighbors and everyone has enjoyed their experience. The only thing that heard, other than praise, from any of them was their eggs weren't fluffy enough. I guess I'm not the only foodie critic but I don't get scrambled eggs so there's that. :-)  What I have gotten is fried eggs, egg biscuits, breakfast platers, biscuits & gravy, French toast,  BLT's, all the meats and cake of the day and everything I've had has been hot, fresh and tasty. They give you generous portions at a very reasonable prices and always with a smile. The  coffee is also good, and I'm picky about my coffee, and there's juice and other drinks available, including sweet tea. Just order and pay at the counter and they'll bring your order out to your table fresh and hot.  I'm not a categorizing the food here typical "home cooking" or "gourmet" but I will call it "comfort food". I know that's kinda personal, granted, because the nostalgia about food, in general, is mostly specific to an individual, or to a specific culture. But as someone who enjoys everything from home cooking to gourmet, and loves cuisine from around the planet, I always leave Mae Mae's pleasantly filled and comforted, so yeah comfort food. :-)  Mae Maes Joint also has a Facebook page where you can connect with them and see their latest updates and posts of daily specials too.  https://www.facebook.com/maemaesjoint/ Coming in 2024 their adding a fry room with lots of new menu offerings including seafood, chicken, fries, okra, and a whole lot more. Don't forget to give them a LIKE on Facebook to keep up with daily specials and news.  On a personal note, It was sad day when a local iconic restaurant, Biscuit King, shuttered its doors in July and, for me, their huge cathead biscuits were fantastic. But alas, the scratch made buttermilk biscuits here are some of the best I've had and are fit for a King. If that wasn't enough to make me a fan their sausage gravy is excellent and makes for the best biscuits and gravy around, so I'm a super fan :-)  Bottom line: If you are looking for a cozy and delicious breakfast and lunch place with good food, service and friendly folks in Foley, check  out Mae-Maes Joint. Highly recommended!! https://www.facebook.com/maemaesjoint/

On a recent boys day out I took a few of my Buds to check out this new addition for Arizona BBQ,…read moreyeah you read right, Arizona. Colt Grill BBQ & Spirits just opened in downtown Foley, AL, and I was curious to see how their smoked meats and Western vibe would fit in with our Southern scene. This place is a big deal for Foley, it's set up in the historic Foley Bakery building, a 100-year-old landmark that's been closed since 2007. The building, at the corner of North Alston Street and West Laurel Avenue, got a major facelift over the past year, and now it's home to this BBQ joint downstairs, with apartments and an office upstairs. Colt Grill started in Arizona, with four locations there, Prescott, Prescott Valley, Cottonwood, and Village of Oak Creek. Foley's their first venture outside Arizona, and they picked it because they loved the South's charm and Foley's small-town feel. Walking in, the place feels cozy yet upscale for a BBQ spot. The exposed brick walls and custom furniture, sourced from the owner's family of furniture builders, give it a warm, authentic vibe. Brenda Marie Clouston, the owner, has a background in interior design, and it shows. The setup is pretty unique for the area: you order at the counter, but there's a full-service bar where bartenders bring your food if you sit there. My buds and I grabbed a table, but the bar looked tempting with its lineup of bourbons and signature cocktails like the Foley Bushwacker and Colt Margarita but only one pal took advantage of the spirits. And they have happy hour :-) The menu's got all the BBQ classics, but it's not just ribs and brisket. They smoke nearly everything pork, chicken, turkey, even their mac-n-cheese over oak hardwoods. I went for the sampler platter to try a bit of everything that included baby back ribs with campfire sauce, pulled pork with Kansas City sauce, brisket, smoked turkey, and a turkey brat sausage. The meats were tender and packed with smoky flavor, and the variety of sauces let me mix it up. Classic sliced white bread was served with mine but we tried the jalapeño cornbread, which was a standout, spicy but not overwhelming. The guys got a brisket plate and a pulled pork sandwich. They liked it but I thought the brisket could have been a little moist and tender. Overall the food was good and I will return. Service was friendly, though it got a bit hectic during the lunch rush. The staff was hustling, and you could tell they're still finding their rhythm since opening in early this yesr. I liked that they give back to the community every "Cowboy Cookie" sold donates a portion to Secret Meals for Hungry Kids, a local charity. The atmosphere was lively and the Western decor made it feel like a little piece of Arizona in Alabama. Bottom line: Colt Grill's a great addition to Foley. It's not just another BBQ joint, it's got heart, history, and some seriously good food. My buds and I are already planning our next visit. If you're in the area, check it out and come hungry! However, we unfortunately weren't impressed with the flavor. Presentation wise, very fun and cute. The mermaid tail was presented with everything I got except I didn't get the mermaid tail gummy/charm on my sundae, a bit odd haha. The mermaid tail was $8 but really it was beautiful! The vanilla ice cream however, was not great. It tasted like imitation vanilla, like vanilla extract. Not a fan at all. My husband got a milkshake with m&ms and gummy worms. Mix ins were great... but the ice cream again was just OFF. It didn't taste like a normal chocolate ice cream and we couldn't figure out what was off but something was. This is how much of our items we decided to go ahead and toss due to flavor just not being what we expected. I think this is a fun place for kids and a fun experience, but I don't think I'd go back just because of the flavors

Since its establishment earlier this year Milkshake Momma is fast becoming a favorite spot for locals and tourists with their comfort food, unique atmosphere, and over-the-top milkshakes. Founded in Ladonia, Alabama, as part of the Southern Roots Country Store, Milkshake Momma has quickly gained popularity for its delicious comfort food, over-the-top milkshakes, and lively atmosphere. The restaurant's was founded by a group of friends who wanted to create a place where people of all ages could enjoy delicious treats and create fun memories.  While Milkshake Momma currently only has one location in Orange Beach, AL, the restaurant is now offering franchise opportunities to interested entrepreneurs. Milkshake Momma's menu features a wide array of unique offerings, including epic FREAK Shake milkshakes, old-fashioned milkshakes, banana splits, cones, cups, freak donuts, mini donuts, cobblers, and cheesecake and cake by the slice. Their food menu also boasts a variety of tasty options, such as burgers, hot dogs, salads, and funky fries. I've got my eye, for my next visit, on the Outlaw Chili Dog which is a hot dog, topped with mustard, house-made chili, onions, slaw, and pickles, it sounds delish. Also when I'm not being my regularly cheery self I'm coming back for a Cheer Up Buttercup, which has a  Peanut Butter Rim, Vanilla Milkshake or Sundae, Topped with Slice of Cheese Cake, Reese Cups, Reese Pieces, Pretzels Carmel and Whipped Topping, that sounds cheery :-)  I had my first Pistol Pete shake that was quite  enjoyable, and by the way they use Blue Bell Ice Cream here, and I do like their stuff.  Bottom line: Milkshake Momma Burgers and Shakes offers a fun dining experience with its unique atmosphere, delicious comfort food, and over-the-top milkshakes. The staff is friendly and the wait is reasonable, give it a try!  Hours: Milkshake Momma is open seven days a week: Monday - Thursday: 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM Friday - Saturday: 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM Sunday: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM To learn more about Milkshake Momma, visit their website at milkshakemomma.com.
