This is literally the best place for south indian food in Calgary and definitely better than anything in Edmonton. We have been regular customers for over a year and I am surprised at how their quality never wavers unlike most indian restaurants. Moreover the people serving the food are very pleasant and it is another big reason why we keep going there. The must trys at this place are the idlis, medu vadas and dosas. The idlis are the softest, reminding me of the ones my mother makes. The vadas are super crispy on the outside and super soft on the inside. And the dosas are always lovely and so are their sambar and chutneys! The only thing that they can work upon is the decor. Although, it doesn't me bother too much. read more

I am a repeat customer, I'm a vegetarian and a foodie. My obsession with dossas began when I went to India. I have tried a few other dossa/south Indian restaurants and they have either been very greasy or not flavourful enough. I live for spicy food, and the Hyderabadi dossa definitely satisfies! I go straight for that because I've been told it is the spiciest one. My wife has tired a few different ones and they have all been delicious. I always top it off with a falooda, always hits the spot!! I really wish this restaurant was presented better eg. better location, décor, presentation..... We are from California and on a visit to Calgary. We are used to good Indian food in Northern California. So it was with a little trepidation that we went to this place. The place was small and was not crowded when we went. The staff was friendly. In fact we later found out that some of the staff had worked in Indian restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area. We ordered Dosas. They came with coconut and tomato chutneys and sambhar. All were good. Ordered Mango Lassi as well which was also very good. The food was comparable to any good South Indian food we had back in California. The prices were reasonable and portions were sumptuous. Will definitely revisit if we are here again. read more

I had chilli chicken( it was little spicy for me) and idle sambhar and it was so delicious. One of the best authentic indian food i had after such a long time. We're from out of town and wanted to try this place after seeing it in yelp. The food is great, very authentic South Indian cuisine, and so flavorful. The service is also great. Try the buffet in the weekends, it's a good selection. You judge the restaurant by the food and the excitement that the owner puts into it, not necessarily the atmosphere. We will be back over and over for sure - everything on the menu looks worth a try and the dosa presentation in various shapes is a great touch! Found this place by chance on Yelp, with only 2 reviews, but had to try it and it is what I would call an undiscovered gem. The food is so reasonable that even though we live NW, we will make the trek again and show our friends - in fact this place is so perfect for sharing, I would bring a party of friends there to try as much of the menu as possible. I'd only tried dosa in northern Paris and didn't know we had a south indian restaurant in Calgary. Had the chicken tikka dosa, MC Combo (idli, dosa and medu vada) for appetizers, the dosa was soft and crispy at the same time. Had the meen khuzhambu fish curry as our main and it was all lovely. All the baking/breads were so tasty and everything had its own distinct flavour. Instead of having a typical dessert, we had the uppam (sp?) fermented rice bread with coconut milk - it was seriously incredible.
