I ordered: Chicken tikka masala: it was amazing. The sauce was thick and the dish was packed with boneless, tender chicken, peppers and onions. It is the perfect amount to share with another person. The spices were incredible and really tasted authentic. The spiciness level was also perfect. Basmati rice: I was quite surprised of the portion that they give. It is a really big and deep bowl filled with rice. It tasted great pairing this with the tikka masala sauce. Garlic naan: the naan was incredible. You can taste the fresh garlic on it. Overall, I was very satisfied with the quality and quantity of the dishes. They are all reasonably priced and I would love to go back here. My only issue was that the dishes did not come out as hot as I would have liked. It was all warm but could've been hotter.

Let me tell you, this was the most favourite and talked about dish during and after. And believe me this was enough to serve 4 people a good portion, trying the three dipping sauces give it an excellent flavour, but try it by itself first! Also, ask for a knife, J know were are post COVID, this is one of those dishes that you tear off, though my wife cut her piece with a spoon, we got a knife after that. The food came quickly, and our additions and requests were handled quickly and efficiently by the staff. Now to look at it all the curries have the same sort of look you them, I assure you, each and everyone had a delicious and different flavour. Dining in Canada for over 20 years now, I have found that restaurants have reduced the heat on dishes, this is not so at The Rock Fort (IMHO). I did not order the Mango Lassi, but was told it was delicious. The Lamb was the spicy dish, the other couple are Asian, and they were enjoying the spice level of the lamb dish. The meats were tender, moist and delicious, the Naan was so good two more were ordered to help sop up the tasty sauces. The restaurant has tables and booths , both were clean and no issues were found. You can have a view of the kitchen to watch the chefs cook (glass partitioned). We look forward to revisiting this restaurant to try different Dosas and I really want to try their Kabobs. Try this if you have not been there, it is worth it!

This place comes highly recommended for their dosas (which I had never heard of) so we both ordered the butter chicken dosa and a coconut rice. We were both blown away by our meals! The presentation is really fun, the flavour was mind blowing, and we had more than enough to eat for an excellent price. We got to meet the chef afterward, who was incredibly friendly and told us about how dosas are made and what spices he uses. The decor may be a little wacky, but I didn't really care. Our server wasn't very helpful in giving any pointers about what we should order, but luckily you now have this review to help you! The downside was we had a bit of a wait because they were short handed in the kitchen. However, the chef was very gracious and the food was worth the wait. Come a little early if you're starving.

Do not think that the kitschy decor will detract or diminish the food experience....!!!! The restaurant is clean and will definitely give diners lots to talk about too. The food is delicious and portions are good. The dosa masala is huge, crisp and very good. We had onion pakora, chili paratha and a chicken biriyani to round out our dinner. I could have absolutely gourged myself and not left anything but we took leftovers home which I was super excited to eat. Prices are reasonable and will make this one of my go to spots for Indian food for sure! Spicing is good and flavours are really very good. My favorites were the dahi puri and the aloo tikki chaat. Dahi Puri (5/5): uses puri shells filled with a creamy yogurt and chutneys, the flavors just blended so well together Aloo Tikki Chaat (5/5): crispy potato patties topped with chutneys, perfect mix of sweet and tangy Pani Puri (3.5/5): weren't as flavorful as ones I've had in nyc, also used to them coming premade with the chickpeas inside Butter Chicken (4/5): not as flavorful as i would've liked, but pretty standard and comes with a lot of chicken! Garlic Naan (4/5): very buttery but still could be softer Vada Pav (4/5): their signature dish with deep fried potato patties inside the bun and topped with spices, which were very delicious. I'm just not the biggest fan of super heavy foods but I think most people will like this one. I was also surprised by the buns because they feel very Western, almost like buttery brioche buns. Pav Bhaji (3/5): pav buns with vegetable curry on the side, I would probably prefer naan over the pav (maybe I'm just more used to it), and the curry didn't stand out to me. We probably left the most of this dish uneaten. Overall, very delicious and would definitely come back if I lived here! Every dish was also around $10 USD, which is much more affordable compared to nyc where these dishes can be double the price. Would love to try the bhel puri and tikki chole next time!
