To make a long story short, we approved what was needed to fix the oil leak and the catalytic converter they said was needed. $4800 was quoted and paid when they completed the repair. About four months later we were back for the oil leak which had gotten much worse. They claimed they replaced something related to the oil filter connection. At this point we lost all confidence in their company and we went to the Honda dealership. After hearing Honda's $9,000 bid to fix, we decided to buy a new car and end this nightmare. Christian Brothers should have been honest with us and advised us to not fix this car and buy a new one. They care more for their profits than they do customers. If I could give zero stars, I would have.

I sat on a stool at the bar in front of the window and watched the technicians at work. CBA provides a complimentary inspection with pictures and video of the car, as well as a detailed report of the condition of the various parts of the car. Wow! The techs were thorough and their uniforms were still clean in the afternoon! Hmmm. Maybe they change if theirs are dirty? After payment for my new battery and its installation, Devin had a yummy surprise for us. Never have we had such a great experience at an automotive shop! My…read more2019 Ram 8HP70 transmission that pulls my camper was leaking fluid bad and I needed it looked at pretty quick. Knox at the front desk told me they were to busy that day but to bring it in the next morning for a free inspection and estimate for the repairs. The next morning he took it right in and almost immediately came out and told me it was a leaking coolant line and as that was included in the inspection there would be no charge for the repairs. I had some fluid in the truck because I knew it was leaking and they installed it for me and refused any payment. I've taken this truck to the mountains twice pulling my camper since the inspection and repairs and it has ran perfectly. If you are traveling and have a transmission problem this is the place you want to bring your vehicle to. You may have to rent a vehicle to continue your trip while waiting on repairs because all of the locals know this is the best place to come for your transmission repairs and you probably won't be first in line. You are still better off in the long run because you will get a quality repair.

Several weeks ago I had to drive down to Birmingham. About 30 miles north of my destination, my…read moreengine began to run extremely rough and I had barely enough power to maintain safe freeway speeds. It was still running so I was able to nurse it back to Huntsville. When I got home, I searched repair shop reviews and found Harding Auto Repair, which had good reviews and was fairly close to home. I brought the car in and asked Chip to take a look. After a couple of days, he called me with the bad news. The engine was shot. Zero compression in the #2 cylinder probably due to complete failure of the rings, which meant rebuild or replace. Chip was totally straight with me. A rebuild, he said, would be massively expensive even if I could find someone to do it. Replacement was the best option. After dong some research, I found a company in New Jersey that could ship me a used engine for a very reasonable price. I asked Chip for an estimate on the cost to remove and replace the dead motor. He gave me a very detailed estimate and thoroughly explained each charge to make sure that I understood what he was doing. This allowed me to determine whether the car's value would justify the cost of the repairs. On that basis I gave him the green light. He had some other jobs ahead of me so it was a few weeks before I got the call saying he was done. Allowing for a lost week due to the bizarre snow storm and subsequent icy roads and frigid temperatures, he delivered well within the time frame he promised. And the car? It's running great! And my wife is happy that she has her car back full time again! Oh, and the bill. Chip presented the bill and said he couldn't find the estimate he had sent me. I pulled it up on my phone and we compared the two. The estimate came in about a couple hundred dollars less than the invoice. Chip honored his estimate and adjusted the invoice to the estimated price! I cannot say enough good things about Chip and Harding Auto Repair. He does good work, charges fair prices, delivers on time, and is as honest as the day is long. I am not planning to have another major break down, but if I do, Chip will be my first call!

I took it out and put it on a charger. After I put it back in the car started fine, but no matter what I tried struggled to get to even 10 - 15mph. I feared that I had somehow fried an engine computer and was dreading a massive repair bill. I managed to get the car to Hill's. They're always busy, so it took a few days before they could look at it. I was really plesantly surprised when they called and said that all they had to do was install a new battery and clean out the mass air flow sensor. The bill was well below $200 and I had prepared myself to have to pay around a $1000. It's running great now. This is the way capitalism is supposed to work: good service at fair prices and happy customers who feel they have been served and not screwed.
