They coordinated a tow truck for me, even got me a discount on the tow, and had my car repaired and back on the road way faster than I expected. As a basically broke college student, affordability matters a lot, and they were incredibly fair and affordable with the repair. The whole team was super friendly, always answered the phone, and made the whole situation way less stressful. They even offered me a comfortable place to sit and work on schoolwork while I waited, plus gave me a refreshment. If you want a trustworthy, kind, and affordable place to get your car fixed, Martinez Garage is the place. There was a driver at my house within 20 mins (worked out well, I realize, bc he had just unloaded a tow a few miles away.) They were competitively priced as I had called a couple other places already. Alex, the driver, showed up and was courteous, funny, competent, and easy to talk to. He loaded up the car quickly and I met him at the garage where the car was being repaired. I would certainly use them again and am adding them to my contacts in case of a future emergency. :)

However, on…read moreI-565 near Huntsville, I observed one United Towing truck loaded with a disabled vehicle well off the shoulder with lights on, but a second United Towing truck was parked with the rear end extending into a live traffic lane during peak traffic. Under Alabama traffic laws (AL Code §§ 32-5A-136 & 32-5A-137), vehicles stopped on highways should be positioned off the traveled portion of the roadway so there is an unobstructed width for traffic to pass safely. Because the second truck encroached into the lane, it forced vehicles into other lanes and caused drivers to brake abruptly, creating a dangerous situation for motorists. This wasn't just inconvenient--it was unsafe. I support tow operators and the services they provide, but proper placement and awareness are critical for safety. I hope United Towing reviews this incident with their team and emphasizes positioning vehicles completely off the roadway when possible. Forcing drivers to change lanes abruptly, rather than having the option to slow down, almost caused a five car pile up with me right in the middle of it. Do I support saftey of tow truck drivers? Yes. At the extent of violating the law and placing others in danger? No. The tow truck obstructing the lane was unnecessary in this particular case and was very unsafe. Please explain to your drivers that not all situations require a lane to be obstructed for the safety of your drivers, especially when it places others in harms way. Thank you. Reference: Alabama's "Move Over Act" (Section 32-5A-58.2) requires drivers to vacate the lane closest to vehicles stopped on the shoulder displaying lights (including wreckers/tow trucks) or slow down if changing lanes isn't safe. Under Alabama Code § 32-5A-136 and § 32-5A-137, a vehicle may not be stopped, standing, or parked on the traveled portion of a highway when it's practicable to stop off the roadway, and when stopped there an unobstructed width of the roadway must be left for free passage of other vehicles with clear visibility.

After driving it for months with no issues, I noticed a slight issue which I thought may have been due to an alignment or balancing but was informed that it could have actually been an issue with my transmission. I contacted Nance and not only did they ensure the transmission was working correctly but they went above and beyond to diagnose my issue. Everything is running smoothly now!! Id definitely recommend them to anyone with a transmission issue.

Exceptional quality rebuild with attention to detail !…read more Unsure just why the impeller hub that turns the transmission pump broke off on the torque converter wrecking my wife's torque converter and pump on her 1999 Toyota Sienna! However, she did have 258k miles on it:))) ~ Contributing factors had to be her driving the grade on Cecil Ashburn Dr. with overdrive ON! And a synthetic fluid about 10k past recommended service interval. To Daryl Nance's credit he did state after getting in there to confirm the damage, "the rest of the unit was unhurt". Meaning, we could replace the torque converter and pump and place the van back in service. Of course, the risks are getting the pump pressures up to normal for daily in town driving again we could run into the weaknesses inherit in a transmission with this age. So, we opted for the complete rework! Never meeting Mr Nance before we did know he was a member in good standing either the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association OR ATRA since 2012 http://www.atra.com/shopfinder?ShopFinderLocation=35802 *** He also came recommended after a relative ask what we we're going to do with the van. We told them we thought of Nance Transmission. The next day our relatives co-worker had reported in unrelated conversation of her most recent great experiences there! (A nice coincidence but more than enough to confirm this is where we need to go if we are keeping this van.) Work flow was about a week out... so we got "in line" in this busy place! ***We wanted to place no pressure on them for turn around to allow time for a quality repair. One month later our vehicle is in service in great mechanical working order. The battery, air intake and all bolts and nuts for all mounting accessories were placed back just where they go! No sloppy rush to slam it in! Conclusion: If you come to Nance, you are dealing with a highly ethical, highly professional, extremely meticulous and skilled, second generation business - all run by a family that gets along with one another! All this is rare to find in the transmission business! A real gem! And they don't try to do it all... just transmissions! (Although we did replace our rear main oil seal on the engine since the transmission was removed.) Fair - Honest - Trustworthy - Professional - Highly Skilled - Capable and Qualified !
