Turnover is high.
The building has very thin walls. We know when neighbors on either side are home or in the bathroom/ shower. We awaken to the neighbor's alarm clock every morning and can smell their coffee. We can hear when a neighbor opens the closet doors. We can hear the conversations.
Pulling out of the driveway is really dangerous.
The upper building is on 2 bus lines on one of the steepest hills in Seattle, so the buses strain to make it. You might need white noise or earplugs to sleep when the buses and big trucks run in the wee, early morning, no matter what the on-property guy tells you. He says it doesn't bother him, but sometimes he can have 5 people living in his apartment, 2 are toddlers, so we probably have a different idea about noise. The weekends can get loud with the drunk, partiers yelling in the parking lot.
The appliances are very cheap, banged up and outdated. Management has been moving appliances around and "fixing" things with one broken part after another. The cabinets are really cheap. The design of the kitchen is so bad that you can't open the dishwasher door all the way down because it hits the refrigerator door. The replacement refrigerators (not new, small, no ice maker) won't open all the way so you can't use the bottom drawer. Bring your microwave. Original Formica from the 80s in really bad shape. Our bleach spotted, older carpet should have been replaced when we moved in, but management wouldn't do it. The carpet padding is like sand under the carpet.
The bedroom doors do not have locks. This is not a good place to have a roommate- Better for a couple because the closets and storage are arranged so poorly. The large closet is made well, but the small closet comes off the track . We have a great view. read more
