Iced Matcha latte with Lavendar, pistachio muffin with no pistachio's
    Sherrice B.

Trying to up my coffee game and leave Dunkin & Starbucks alone. I walked in Madi's at 2:00pm and it was packed... students on laptops, people working. Almost every seat was filled. I want to come when it's less busy so I can take my pics and just be to myself. Not sure when or how I will accomplish that. They had some delicious looking pastries. I ordered the iced matcha latte with lavender. I don't see any lavender and it could use more sweetener. I also got a pistachio muffin, which is stiff as a board.it has walnuts in it and lots of green dye. It taste ok but needs some real pistachios Not sure if they heat anything up or you have to ask. It's just so busy I just wanna get out the way! I was excited to try this place and even more excited to leave. I think I just need to find the perfect time to sit back and relax and this experience didn't provide that this go around. I'll try again ..

Food 5/5 Lattes are good. I've ordered lavender (norm for me) and a blueberry bliss, which was different for me, yet tasty. Service 4/5 Friendly. Ambiance 4/5 The interior design and layout of the coffee shop what keeps me returning. They have ample seating and outlets. Due to this, it is quite busy, but people are rotating in/out to find seating. The patio is lovely, but the wifi does not connect out there--please address! There are two unisex bathrooms as well.

This place was great! Came here with coworkers and had our meeting, which was nice to be in a good space. It can get crowded fast. Note- some of their coffees can be sweet but their pastries are great and decadent. The lemonades are sooo nice and so are their specialty lattes. They also have a pretty heavy pour with their espressos so keep that in mind. Overall, love the place and can't wait to come back and study here!

    Iced Cinnamon Honey Spiced Latte

This was my first time at Madis Coffee and I went with the Iced Cinnamon Honey Spiced Latte. When I let the cashier know I was deciding between a couple of drinks, she was very helpful in narrowing down my choice for today. The latte was excellent, not too sweet and just the right amount of spice without crossing into that candle-like flavor. I usually prefer coffee drinks on the less sweet side, so I asked the barista if the standard recipe would be balanced. He assured me it was, and he was completely right. I enjoyed it exactly as served. My friend ordered the Iced Matcha Latte, which unfortunately was not to her liking (she mentioned that she prefers the matcha at Café Maiko). The cafe itself is bright with lots of natural lighting, spacious, and inviting. There are plenty of tables, both high and low, along with a good number of outlets. It makes for a great spot to catch up with friends or settle in for some work. I came on a Saturday morning and even though there was a line, there were still open seats. I would say about 80 percent of the customers were getting work done. The wifi password is written on the chalkboard, and the music is kept at a comfortable volume that blends nicely with the ambient chatter. There is also a lovely outdoor seating area that is pleasant for getting some fresh air. Just note that the wifi is not as strong outside, and on this windy day I found a few stray leaves and specks of pollen blown into my drink (yumm free extra seasoning). For amenities, there are two restrooms that are easy to spot thanks to their bright yellow doors. Overall, I left with a very positive first impression. I can definitely see myself returning again and again for conversations or to buckle down and study away.

I ordered an orange blossom iced latte and a coffee cake. The orange blossom iced latte's presentation was very nice, but the syrup wasn't mixed well and the flavors did not go together, which might've been my own fault for ordering it. I would not recommend getting a fruit flavored latte. My friend ordered a salted caramel latte, which was way too syrupy and artificial. The coffee cake was quite sweet but pretty good overall. The store has a lot of indoor and outdoor seating and is clean and cute.

A very café with very nice ambiance. Free wifi and the chai tea latte was excellent. I enjoyed sitting by the window people watching and reading. The light coming through the front windows was so pleasant. Joined the rewards program while you there in anticipation of returning.

Super yummy blueberry latte! I was in meetings nearby for a few days and became a daily visitor at Madi's during my time in Philly (as well as most members of my team). We never encountered long lines, had great service, and the inside is very cute and modern!

I ordered the iced matcha latte and a French toast muffin. One of my favorite things about this spot is the ambiance--huge windows let in plenty of natural light, and the soft background music creates such a calm, relaxing vibe. It's easy to see why so many people come here to work on their laptops. The iced matcha latte was not only grainy but also quite bland. That said, it actually ended up pairing well with the French toast muffin, which was rich and sweet enough to balance it out.

Great snacks and drinks, super friendly staff! WiFi on the patio was iffy, but views of the cityscape were lovely.

I've been wanting to come here since it opened and I'm so happy I finally made my way over. It has great outdoor seating, including street seating and patio seating and a lot of indoor tables for sitting and getting some work done. The coffee was fine, but nothing too exciting. I also tried the egg and cheese which was ok, but also nothing too exciting. It was a bit dry and missing some sort of fat (maybe some extra butter or more cheese). The service was good and friendly. It was really cute inside.

Peppermint mocha, biscuit Latte, spinach pastry

Good service, great vibe. I love how much space and seating they have! Both lattes were excellent. The food was not great though. The spinach pastry was dry and the blueberry muffin was too sweet and hardly any blueberries.

We ordered our drinks on the walk there and we hoped they would be ready when we arrived. When we walked in the time changed to add about 15 min on which was a bit annoying however we were not in a rush so we calmly waited. I got the hot matcha latte and it was really good. I like only a drop of sweetener bc I like to taste the matcha. I like it served temperature hot (not warm)- and this drink arrived exactly the way I like it. Would def come back for another one. My bf got some kind of coffee w cardamom in it (sorry I forget which kind - I'm not a coffee drinker and they all sound the same to me ha). He really enjoyed his drink. He had a BOGO coupon so we each actually got 2 drinks. I planned to take my second one home but the drink was so good I drank both of them ha. Will def be back again.

It's the fanciest looking coffee house I ever visited, there's outside seating which is nice and the inside is lit up with warm yellow lighting throughout, very spacious with tables and wicker like chairs. It seems like a great spot to meet up with a friend or to visit, find a corner read or work. It looks like a family establishment, as I noticed there were children behind the register, a young man, maybe 10 years old took my order and did a great job doing so! Bravo! I purchased a vanilla hot matcha latte and a pistachio milk cake, the total was about $21!!! This price was expensive, visiting establishment like this often is not feasible to my budget but there's so much more I need to try so I'll be back. The matcha was amazing, actually the most authentic I've tried!!! And the pistachio milk cake was delicious, being a person who literally puts milk on cake lol, this was amazing!!! It wasn't too sweet and the pistachio gave balance! The slice is enough to share or split for 2 servings, which is what I did. Bottom line, I'll be back! I'd love to try their coffee and another pastry and possibly sit outside on a nice day. Please visit and enjoy!!!

Avril 50 was a regular stop in my patrol days and I loved walking into the shop. Always the wonderful aroma of brewing coffees and chocolate dancing with other exotic smells and the smells of fine papers and magazines. It always felt to me like stepping from West Philadelphia into a magical pocket of Europe. As it looked exactly the same, I wondered if anything had changed in the past 22 years and as soon as I crossed the threshold, I found that it was the same - like stepping back 22 years, yet somehow I was that much older. The proprietor was still there, still the same and looking no different - something that confirmed my belief that this was a magical and wonderful pocket paradise tucked away on a small West Philadelphia street. A brief catch-up chat, a shopping bag of fine teas and a perfectly brewed double-espresso to takeaway later; I stepped back into the bright Fall sun of West Philadelphia. I found myself smiling as I sipped the espresso, happy that one of the best things for me in that neighborhood has remained unchanged for others to enjoy and to continue to discover. It will not be another 22 years before I make my way back - that is for certain.

I'm still not entirely sure what the shop is supposed to be but it was an experience going there for sure. The coffee is self serve and there are several different selections, each with a short description up on the wall. I'm not sure if they do anything fancier (lattés, etc) but I doubt it. Nonetheless, if I were a student at penn and needed a coffee this is where I would go.
