The candy selection is always great but the soft serve is unreal! I got the vanilla and maple twist. Highly recommend!

Madeleine's is such a fun Swedish candy shop (now with a little soft serve window a couple doors down!!). I've been visiting here since they opened and I've found everything to be clean and relatively reasonably priced. The staff are also incredibly friendly. Keep in mind that this store is very small, so it can feel very crowded depending on the time/day you visit. If you are a fan of soft serve style ice cream, I do recommend checking out Madeleine's, as it's very tasty and portions are large (I ordered the smallest size!)

This is a lovely new addition to the south end, and Boarding Boston's Back Bay neighborhood. Madeleine's features candy imported from around the world. I took away one star ONLY because it appears to be fairly recognizable chocolates and gummies. Of all the candy they offer, most famous is by "BUBS," which includes Banana Caramel Ovals, Tutti Frutti Foam Diamonds and Licorice Skulls. These are famously difficult and expensive to obtain, requiring FDA forms, and a customs broker. THE DEAL: when you want to try a new kind of sweet treat, stop by and see what's popular Internationally!

TLDR: Great selection of candy and sweets, but the swedish candy comes prepackaged. Expect it to be on the pricier side. They also have soft serve, which is both delicious and more reasonably priced. Super beautiful space, and super nice employees! -- I frequently visit this candy shop at least once a week as it's the only way to get my steps in this winter (I live in southie, so I make the commute by foot) AND because my sweet tooth practically compels me to spend an exorbitant amount of money on swedish candy. So, I feel like I have formed a strong opinion about Madeleine's. First, it's colorful, it's beautiful, and it's incredibly welcoming with the way they have been decorating for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Feels like I'm in Stars Hallows. They always have a new candy of the week to try for free at the counter, which is also a fun way of distracting me as I tap my card again and again for a (10 dollar) baggie of bubs. Yes, ten dollars for a baggie of PRE-packaged swedish candy. That's where this place loses its star. Week to week the mix of candy can change, and often times I'm left with candy that I don't really want. But is it worth it as a midweek pick me up? Yes, sometimes. BUT they also added a soft serve window that rotates flavors by the seasons (maple is my favorite), and you have the option to add a generous amount of bubs for only $2. The ice cream is much more reasonably priced. That makes a visit here worth it. This place is a must-stop in the south end area if you have a sweet tooth but expect it to be on the pricier side.

Swedish candy grab bag is at the front! I didn't love the selection they had and it was expensive compared to the other international candy they had that was pay by weight. Self serve, good experience. Street parking.

My husband and I stopped here before going to the airport. The workers were kind, and the shop itself is very cute. Great for a quick treat!

Läderach took over 34 of Godiva's leases in the U.S., after Godiva closed all of their brick & mortar locations. We tried a few of their chocolates but ended up going with the milk chocolate hazelnut to take home! Very delicious. I also got one of the truffles/bonbon to try: pralines pravé Trinidad and I'm excited to try it later. Our total was ~$16 for both items. They have a lot of options to choose from, which I love! Everything seems to be well made & tasty. One of my favorites we tried was a strawberry chocolate & seemed like they used real sun dried strawberries to make it. Highly recommend trying Läderach if you haven't yet!

Today i walked by the location at prudential and there was a gentleman outside with milk choco - hazelnut bars broken up for samples. I said "hey i love that particular combo" so agreed to take a sample. Went back about 20 min later with the lady and bought a a broken chunk from their large slabs. I honestly don't have receipt but forget if it was 4oz or 8oz haha i ate it already. It was 16 bucks. The lady opted for a fudge cube pralines pavè Trinidad. They checked us out gave us nice bag and packaging and we were out. The choco sampling did it for me expensive yes but it was so clean and good. I'd get it occasionally in the future. Don't be afraid to ask for samples, they'll gladly let u try (at least the big slab ones) not sure about the Bon Bon style ones.

And in Boston, I did just that. Levain is perfect and in my selfish definition, the BEST chocolate chip walnut cookie out there. We managed to visit twice to get our fix. Altogether we ordered the Cookie Milk Latte, an Iced Chai Latte, 1 Black Iced Tea, Raspberry Pistachio cookies, the OG Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie and the vegan version. The cookies here make me drool every time. They are a mound. The chewiest pocket of cookie perfectly baked. Every bite feels like heaven. The raspberry pistachio was a fun summery add, it tasted berry-good with creaminess from the pistachio. Service is quick, line up and someone will help you; everything moves pretty smoothly. And they have outside seating available as well as 4 bar stools by the front window. Thank you for existing Levain!

Honest thoughts: The cakes were indeed beautifully crafted, but $13 was overpriced. The cake quality didn't meet the steep price. The cafe was self-service and some furnitures were quite worn out. From their ig, I saw the price tag was ~$9 last year. It was aggressive to raise $4 within a year.....It would be more reasonable to charge at or under $10. *Autumn Leaf $13 * This seasonal special was my favorite. Spiced sponge and pecan crunch were wrapped inside the subtly sweet maple mousse, with a hint of banana flavor coming through midway. The spiced cake tasted like fall. *Geometric Apple $13 The geometric apple is their bestseller but I found the flavors didn't match well with one another. The outer layer was cheesecake mousse, while the center was filled with apple compote, caramel, and chocolate cake. The cake was quite sweet, and the sourness from apple put me off. The chocolate crunch inside was too hard to eat.

I picked the geometric apple; made of cheesecake mousse, apple compote, caramel, dark chocolate crunch, and a chocolate sponge. I can happily say the dessert tasted as good as it looked. All of the layered flavors worked well together resulting in a delicious treat. $13 for one dessert is a splurge to me, but it was worth it. Service was fast and friendly. Would love to visit again and try a different item.
