5 stars have never been more deserved. After going to the same Burbank barber shop for over 30 years, I just happened to try out Made Well. I was blown away at how clean everything is here. I guess I was conditioned to believe that an old school barber meant dirty bathrooms and a dingy shop combined with subpar customer service. John and all of the barber here are super professional, kind and really talented. My 7 & 8 year old kids loved their hair cuts and the nice way they are treated while getting a haircut. No politics blaring out of a tv here, just chill music and cool vibe. I will be back here every two weeks for a hair cut. read more

I had an appointment for Saturday morning with Arsen at 11pm. I booked it on Monday in advance because I was getting married on Sunday. (During the call to book my appointment they asked if I was the Jonathan that had 3 no call /no show but I let them know it wasn't me. ) I show up at 1030 but they were still closed (posted open hours are 10am) I waited until 1145 prior to leaving and called multiple times during my wait in the parking lot. I had to go to three different barbershops before getting a cut from a random barber for my wedding. These barber give the best haircuts but really let me down. read more

It all started back in July...it was the day before 4th of July. My barber recently changed locations to Eagle Rock and everything was booked! I was flying out to San Francisco the next day and needed a cut ASAP rocky! After doing a quick search I came across Made Well Barbershop and decided to pop in. When I entered the shop I was greeted by John who mans the first station. The first thing I noticed after being greeted was how nice and cool it was in the shop (solid AC ) secondly I noticed how clean the shop was. They have vacuums mounted at every station so there was no hair on the floor. They had TVs mounted to the wall and had some good music playing. I grabbed a seat on the comfy leather seats and tested my luck. No appointment and it was a day before the holiday so I thought I was going to be SOL...after a quick 20 minutes John called me up to his chair! Sweet! John gets me set up and took his time asking me questions about how I wanted my hair. I get a fohawk fade so it's a tough cut to get right. I was a bit nervous but I could tell John had experience so I let him do his thing (fingers crossed). After our quick chat John got after it...the man has skills! He was fast but didn't rush. He paid attention to detail while cracking jokes and making me laugh. The cut came out amazing! and I got a fresh shave n hot towel to top it off! Boom! It's the end of August and I've been back to John more than a hand full of times. He's a good dude who cares about his clients and his work. To be honest If his haircuts sucked ass I'd probably still come back because his service is great lol. I highly recommend checking this shop out. First time coming here on a Sat afternoon. Wasn't too busy, but since I did a walk-in had to wait about ~15 min for the next available barber. I was seated soon after and had my hair cut for the next ~45 min. Got a skin to mid fade on the sides and back, and a trim on top for a combover. I did not catch the name of the barber (I think it is the owner), but he paid great attention to detail on the fades and made sure it was cleaned up nicely. Overall great service and cut. I called made well barbershop and made an appointment for an afternoon haircut on a Tuesday. Came in 20 minutes early. The barbershop was very easy to find, right on Colorado boulevard. Super convenient!! Plenty of street parking and a decent sized parking lot in the back of the plaza. The design of this barbershop is very sleek and modern at the same time. There are huge tv's playing sports while you wait also one of the tv's has a playstation hooked up so you can play while you wait. Now for the haircut, the barber took his time to listen to what I wanted exactly. He did exactly what I wanted , mid fade comb over with skin tapers. I usually get a razor part, but the last barbershop I went to really made it uneven and wider than I wanted. After seeing how clean his work was I told him to give me a razor part as well. The cuts here are good. The guys know what they are doing & are talented. That being said, I won't be returning. I wanted to make this my barbershop...came 3 times. First time was fine, but by the third time didn't feel welcomed & the haircut was rushed & when I asked for him to trim my beard I was told to specify that when calling to make an appt because it's a 45 min process. (Mind you, the first time I came my beard was trimmed unprompted & was never specified that I need to ask for it.) My appt was at 11a, I was not in the chair until 11:10. My hair cut was finished in 20 mins & there was nobody waiting after me. Even if there were...the owner had no problem making me wait while he finished his previous cut. I was on time each visit after the owner mentioned that was a pet peeve & going on long rants about annoying customers. And you know I get it...I've worked in the service industry for 5+ years. People suck, but workers /owners can suck & have bad attitudes too (which this place does). I really gave this place a shot, but at the end of the day...they don't need/want me as a customer & it definitely showed today after my visit. I will happily find another barbershop in the area. Can't be bothered by a small business that has horrible customer service skills. Long story short: great cuts, talented barbers, unwelcoming atmosphere, rude owner. UPDATE TO OWNER RESPONSE 7/23/21: I'm assuming most people can tell from the owners response that my point has been proven. He is condescending & is so quick to react & blame anyone but himself for the HORRIBLE customer service he gives to people. Also, don't state to me that I did or did not wait 10 minutes. My appt was at 11am. It was actually 11:11 when I got in the chair because I checked my phone. And I checked the time because of your bitching in my past visits about people being late. Ironic isn't it? The man doesn't like late appointments but has no problem making others wait & then won't admit he's wrong. It's laughable. Like I previously stated: the cuts are good. The haircuts and barbers are really great. The barber really hooked me up with a fade and a quick facial shave. You can tell he put a lot of care into it too. With that being said, I would love to say I'm coming back, but I did have a rude run in with a younger barber as I was checking out. I accidentally sent him the payment via Venmo, which he does not have an account for. He got mad and gave me a rude attitude because he had to sign up to receive the money, after I offered to sent him an additional payment that would work for him. This was after I thanked them and said I was coming back. May want to reconsider new customers in instances like that. Otherwise, great haircut. read more

Very approachable, just a great character to be honest. I like the fact he was very detailed with a lot of aspects with my haircut and beard trim. I get a very straight forward haircut and most of the time the people who do my hair do it very quick because it's an easy cut but he took his time and gave me a lot of attention which showed at the end. I recently took my little cousin to get a cut for the first time. Walked in and was greeted right away. The place was super clean and maintained. The shop looked really well kept. We walked in without an appointment and only waited a few minutes before service. The barber that cut his hair was Sev and he was very friendly and professional. My cousin can be quite a handful and hates getting his hair cut but Sev totally distracted him and made getting his his haircut fun! My cousin was all smiles and making friends with the barbers by the end of it. All in all, I would highly recommend this shop if you're looking for a clean cut and fast service. Called to schedule an appt-- the man on the phone was rude, which should've been enough of an indicator. But still i set an appt for 1 (left phone number, etc). Walked in at 103 (the nearest parking lots all full) to see someone else already getting his hair cut. No call, no apology, no concern. I would've even stayed and waited, but the guy was so unnecessarily rude. Was looking for a new barber, a place where basic conversational decency matters.
