I never write reviews but right after I got this haircut I needed to so I did. The next day I went back because I left my laptop and paperwork there. My first encounter was great and super friendly. There was a language barrier that I didn't mind until we got into the haircut. He asked if I wanted a line up and he pulled my hairline back 1/2 an inch. I've never experienced this where he butchered my hairline. I wanted to cry on the spot when I saw it in the mirror. I didn't say anything and paid. $70 for a haircut that was extremely mediocre and definitely not worth $70. I pay $50 plus the tip back home and it's actually what I ask for. So the next day I returned and then they confronted me about the review and asked me to take it down, which was extremely unprofessional. Right when I walked in they were rude because I left them that review and it was apparent that the vibe wasn't the first treatment I received. I will never be going back there again. read more

Worst haircut in 12 years in LA. And one of the most expensive. I'M HORRIBLE at being honest in person. Receptionist translates for me to barber -- no problem, I'm from an immigrant family, I get it, but either something lost in translation or horrible barbering skill. Barber is on the phone for half the cut, has female employee drapes on him for the other half. Is there any other profession from the lowest to the highest, where if you're serving a customer this would be OK? Is there any culture where this would be OK? This is a $65 cut, not a $10 one. You're working for 30 minutes. Cuts top EXTREMELY SHORT, nothing on top left for me to comb over, especially in the front. My head literally looks like a helmet. Knicks and cuts on my neck in 6-8 places that burn like crazy. Gets worse when he sprays aftershave on it. Is this place actually a barbershop, or could it be a freak for something else? Because there is no service and no skill. Again, I'm horrible at giving feedback in the middle of the cut, and it's often hard to tell what's going on in the middle of the cut with wet hair. Today was my first experience with Barbers and Co London. I live in Glendale and I'm in the market for a new barber. I called to ask about services offered initially and honestly could not understand a word the girl was saying who answered the phone. I kind of excused this and still made an appointment for 2:30pm (I had a party to go to at 5) I was told on the phone that my appointment would be with I believe Chris. I arrived early and checked in and was brought a water. The girl behind the counter checked with who I'm assuming was Chris asking him how much longer he would be with his client. Somehow a few minutes later a different guy came to introduce himself by the name of Sasha. (I thought this was a bit weird) but went with it. I had scheduled for a shave/beard trim and haircut. I will preface this section with the fact that I'm Armenian but spoke English for most of the experience at this location (I prefer English as it is my first language but also because terms like fade and such that are haircut terms I don't know the words for in Armenian but nonetheless I understand and speak the language perfectly). Sasha seemed to be very nervous and I could tell from his body language and hesitation that he was maybe a newer or less experienced barber. I showed him photos of previous cuts I received for the length I like on the top (Shorter and even showed him side and back views so he could see how high I like my fade and the length (As I like it close to the skin as my hair grows fast) I spoke with him in English again for the explanation. He started and again he seemed nervous, hesitant and a bit slow. Maybe half-way through the haircut the girl from the front came up to Sasha as he was still working on my hair with a smile on her face (Assuming that I would I would read it as general conversation and also making the assumption that I couldn't understand her). She told him twice (In Armenian) to hurry up and cut faster and that he was being slow. I didn't react initially but after feeling like he may speed through and mess up my cut I said to him in Armenian (I understood what she said) He said not to worry and he would finish and give me a quality cut. I at this point told him that the fade was not up high enough and the length on the top was too long (In Armenian this time). He said he was glad I spoke Armenian and I again showed him the photos. Long story short the entire haircut took about an hour and a half till about 4. He buzzed around on my face a bit with the clippers (I had a full unshaven face with my goatee which I asked him to shave and clean up) He finished my cut and basically did not do a shave at all. I was so annoyed at this point I just wanted to leave. I went to the front where the girl tried to charge me for the shave and haircut. She asked if I was satisfied and I said not really........and that he did not shave my face at all and showed her. She tried to get him to do it but I said please just charge me for the haircut only which she did. I tipped as I felt bad for the guy a bit........he seemed to be new, inexperienced, and struggled with understanding the language. Still not a full excuse as I even switched languages (To Armenian for his comfort) which didn't really warrant me getting the haircut I asked for. He kept explaining his way out of doing the higher fade like I asked for and why he didn't shorten the length on the top and said the way I had it cut before was not a correct or clean cut. Honestly I don't feel like this is the barbers place to contradict the customers requests.......If I want a mohawk, blue hair, to be shaved bald etc. It should just be done as requested. To me this seemed more like either he was afraid to take even more time as he had been scolded once, or he lacked the skill to do the cut that I asked for. Either way this was a very poor experience overall. 1. Make sure the person who answers the phone and is your customers first contact at the front desk easy to understand and pleasant. (This is the new customers first impression of your business) 2. If it were my business and the customer called stating that it is their first time coming to the business I would schedule him with the most experienced barber I had vs. the least experienced to make sure the experience was positive the first time. (If they decided to try someone else later they would've already had previous good experiences from your business) 3. Never assume someone can't understand you (Speaking openly in front of someone in another language about them assuming they can't understand) 4. Don't tell the customer what cut they want or how it should be done.......listen or look at what they're showing you and do it based on their request. Basically I ended with length on the top that was longer than I asked for, a lower fade than I asked for (In 2 languages) and a beard and face that was still hairy and un-shaven even after my barber was finished read more

Arrived on time for our appointment and there was no one ready to take us. Was told on the phone that there would be someone there that knew how to cut and style an an afro, not true. The one man that walked over to inspect my nephews hair was super rude. Totally ignored us when we asked him questions. There was an obvious language barrier but the fact he wouldn't even look at us when we tried to talk to him was offensive... needless to say we left. Excellent service. Great haircut. My teenage son hates going for a haircut, but the barber was quick, but skillful. He rinsed his hair after the cut so that he would not feel all the little hairs on him and he blew away any remaining pieces of hair on his neck and shirt.
