I went to get my hair done by the owner Deedra Powell. My hair did not turn out how I wanted and I was still charged for I wanted. After going home and looking at my hair it was completely ruin with different colors everywhere, I then texted her and asked for a half refund which she said she doesn't do refund because time and product was wasted and that that's how she supports her family and never promised my hair was gonna look how I wanted which I think it's wrong if you know you can't do the job right then don't charge for it. very disappointing I feel like I got scammed

I got my hair recently with Deedra and she has exceeded my expectations for my hair it needed a lot maintenance from previous dye and highlight streaks, love her work and layers of blonde color she can color!!

I haven't dyed my hair since I was 15 and I've been following Deedra for over a year and been wanting to get my hair done with her for SO long. I finally got the privilege to get an appointment with her and I'm BEYOND ecstatic!! Literally brought my hair back to LIFE! Not only is she good at what she does, she's insanely talented. I just wanna say I'm very disappointed in my hair results . I'm not the type to leave a bad review but I was just not happy with my results. This was my first time here and I saw the work and obviously I wasn't gonna get the results I want the first time but I came out with my hair just half dyed my roots weren't even touch and wasn't even close to one of the styles I asked for!! It looks like an out grown balayage what gets more upset is that I paid 610!!! Which is a lot for the work I got done because my roots weren't even touch & my money piece isnt done right .... I even reached out to her twice and she never got back to me !! This picture is 2 days after my appointment and look how bad it looks . Looks nothing like any of the work she's done.

Made in LA is the best! Since the start Deedra hasn't failed me and always leaves my hair looking good. I'm glad I've trust her with my hair and haven't gone to another hair styles in over 4 years now.

I forgot her name but she did me dirty. I didn't ask for three colors. They have amazing work on other girls I don't know why she has to do me like this. I wanted all blonde why is it grey! She charged me $400 I'm so dumb I paid. Let it be known they're rude and done someone dirty.

Love this place!!! They are super welcoming, and offer snacks throughout the whole process. I just dyed my hair for the first time and I had Deedra, and her assistant mckayla (sorry if i spelt wrong lol) My hair came out super cute. Amazing service overall 10/10 recommend, and come get right with MadeInLa.

After years of going to our family hairstylist I made the bold move of trying someone new and I've never gone anywhere else since! Deedra takes care of every detail and I love how much healthier my hair is now with her care. I'm never disappointed with any hair color I throw at her. From short to long, dark to light, I know she got me. Plus, spending the day at the salon is a girls day all in one so it's a win-win. read more

Been coming to Made in LA for years and Deedra never disappoints! She has taken care of my hair as if it was her own, never rushing through the appointment , staying late to make sure my hair is PERFECT. If you were to see me before Deedra and her assistant's help, you would definitely look at me crazy. I have gotten my hair burnt off twice, elsewhere, for root touch ups on my almost platinum hair. However the second time around was a complete disaster at a salon that had nearly 0 experience in blonde hair. I was devastated because being blonde (even though we have more fun lol) is very high maintenance and almost deadly to the hair. Prior to my appointment for Made in LA with Deedra, my hair was blonde with roots the color of black, brown, yellow, orange, copper. I just had so much going on in addition to excess breakage that was caused by the hairdresser prior. Honestly, my hair was botched when I came to Deedra. I really wanted blonde hair, I've had it for a couple years, but the state my hair was in due to previous hairstylist I was communicated that there's was no possible way without damaging my hair for good. It hurt, but she helped me decide what was best. If Deedra isn't going to touch my blonde hair then you know it's bad. I had to make the choice to go brown (with some honey) to it. She made me comfortable and safe enough to trust her to touch my hair. After my 2 previous disasters from other stylists, she restored my hope. Such great hospitality and will definitely make you feel welcomed. You want someone to take of you and your hair and that's exactly what she gave. I'm happy with my new color and am ecstatic for a new hair era. With so much breakage going on for me, Deedra had the most kindest heart and gave me her very own hair extensions. That to me was the kindest thing ever, and she really didn't have to do that but she's that much of a great hairstylist that she wants to make me (customer) happy and for that it's super respectable. It is so worth coming in, and having your very own appointment with her. Take it from me, I have 2 hairstylist horror stories, 3rd time was truly a charm. I will definitely be back and look forward to working more with her for my hair needs. read more

Kala did an amazing job with my hair! I normally have an icy platinum silver look, but my roots were super grown in and my hair was more yellow toned. Ew! I was so nervous (as I am with any new person doing my hair) about the process, but she made it so pain free and actually did one of the best jobs I've seen with my bleach. I have Asian hair so the quality is different, and a lot of salons get nervous to bleach it too much for damage. She got it super super light without damaging it at all. I RECOMMEND :) read more

I came to Made in LA for the first time to get my hair done by Tiffany. I had previously box died my hair dark brown and wanted to get as light as possible, she got me so light and my hair still feels so AMAZING and HEALTHY! I love my hair and I highly recommend this salon not only is it so cute inside but the owner is amazing and so sweet and I can't say enough good things about Tiffany she is so sweet and thoughtful and a literal hair wizard! Jessica is a blonde MAGICIAN. I am very picky with who i let cut and color my hair and i am so grateful i found her. I have been platinum blonde for the last 8 years and have gone to multiple colorists and no one comes close to her and the attention to detail she puts to her work. I get so many compliments about the integrity of my hair and the length and i owe it to her. Just got my hair done today & let me just say... I am OBSESSED!!! Not all did Deedra kill this look, she was so friendly & inviting. I felt like I've known her for years. Her shop is so cute, right on the corner.. & parking is easy to find. She was hella knowledgeable & knew exactly what would look good on my hair. I also liked that she listened to my needs. I love my long hair & didn't wanna have to sacrifice the length for my color, so she made sure to keep my hair nice & strong while leaving it long & luscious! This is the only salon that I trust to properly deal with my hair. Their extensive knowledge and skill are truly unmatched. Very pleasant atmosphere, especially considering the difficult times we are all facing with the current pandemic. Extremely clean area! It was my first time coming to this salon after lots of recommendations. The hairstylist was Jessica and she was so welcoming, sweet and so amazing! I gave her a good challenge with my hair lol because my ultimate goal is platinum blonde and it took a lot of hours but the outcome was BEAUTIFUL. I had the best experience as soon as I walked in, felt very welcomed and that made very comfortable right off the bat. Tiffany did my hair and I absolutely love it and still can't wait to go back. She really took her time and she also cares about not damaging your hair, especially cause I had black box dye. She explained how we would need a second session to go lighter to avoid any breakage and recommended a shampoo that would help my hair after, I really liked that she did that it really shows how much she takes her job seriously and not just to get paid. The worst experience I ever had!!!! Was not satisfied with the outcome the first time went a second time to get it fixed. Hair looks better now, but omg !! My hair got pulled so many times, they couldn't brush it out, nor blow dry it good to give me a nice blow out. I've dyed my hair before years ago and never did I experience this unprofessionalism. Made In LA is definitely a hidden gem. I made a appointment with @hairby_ogtiff for highlights which I was very nervous about since it's totally out my comfort zone but she assured me the outcome would be amazing.I am so happy I trusted her with my hair because I am in love with the results and very satisfied with the service she provided. I appreciate the time she takes out of her day to check in with her clients even after the appointment to see if they have any questions or even to recommend products for your hair. I've never been so satisfied with the outcome of any service at a salon. Deedra and her team are amazing hairstylists! I don't feel like 5 stars is enough for their amazing upbeat personality, creativity and service. She lifted my hair evenly and got the color to be very vibrant while protecting the integrity of my hair. My hair feels healthy and looks bomb! She didn't rush the process and made sure I felt comfortable. Her and Kayla have wonderful customer service. Deadra is a miracle worker, I went to see her because my hair had been completely damaged at another salon. I live in Glendale and there are hundreds f salons between here and Long Beach but I was too scared to have my hair go through anything else. This is literally a magical place. I got my hair done with Jess (that woman has magical hands). I can rave on and on about how amazing she is! Everything I ask for she does and does it way better than what I had in mind. She's so sweet & she actually listens to your needs & wants ! The one thing I appreciate the most from Deedra & her team, is the honesty & education they inform you on the importance of keeping the integrity of your hair. This can be hard to do, especially since I have ethnic hair and about a decade of vivids, henna color, and other experiments in my hair. I came in with blue and purple fun hair. This is my hair after two sessions and she's done a great job delivering on Grey blending. She found an ashy beige that would work with blending in with my silvers. She really understands color. Rizza also has very chill energy and listens to your requests. I also needed to handle personal medical stuff during my appointment and she was very helpful about it.

Not once did she offer if I'd like another stylist , not once did she offer a real accommodation . Let's be real and hold accountability , because this second cancel the day of appointments, messaging me hours before on IG asking to move my appointment earlier to then canceling is WILD . Original : I know the stylists have their own way of booking or dealing with affairs apart of the salon but I think it's wild they have a rebooking fee of over $30 if client has to reschedule last minute their appointments BUT when I get my appointment canceled TWICE by the stylist ON THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT , due to "family emergencies" that apparently always happen. I think it's wild that a stylist can waste a clients time and day considering the first time it was canceled I had planned to get my hair cut before my birthday trip and today it got canceled I had just told my boss no to coming in for a shift because of my scheduled appointment ... what do we clients get in return besides wasted time and lost money ? At least she returned my $20 deposit that has been kept since August but damn , homegirl really needs to take care of home before taking appointments , we have a life out here too.

I went in for my first appointment and since the beginning I got greeted with smiles. I've been following @beatdiva_ for a couple of years now one of my cousins recommended her and so I finally decided to do my appointment with her. I'm such a picky person but when I asked for what I wanted and then she gave me the perfect results I was so happy. It's a huge change from going black to almost all blonde and I can't wait for my next color. My hair looks healthy and I get so much compliments from everyone. These girls know what the heck they're doing. She also had one of her other stylists helping her, I think her name was Michelle and she was so nice and lovely all of them where honestly. Always asking if you need anything too. Anyways, I feel like I can truly go forever talking about how great they were. Definitely a place I recommend to everyone and "trust the process" as deedra always says, it's worth it. Also before I forget, I'm one of those people who were insecure of going lighter because of my skin color and I should have done it earlier because it goes perfectly they really try to give you a perfect shade and she will tell you what goes with you or not. read more

I Loveeee this place Deedra and the rest of the staff are AMAZING, they are so nice and down to earth. I've been going to Made in LA for a little over a year now and I have to say Deedra is the best at what she does she has completely transformed my hair. I had a horrible experience at another salon so I decided to do the BOX dye 1 day after and I dyed it 3 times in 2 weeks, YES needless to say how bad and damaged my hair was , the first time I went in she asked me what I wanted and of course I said blonde (platinum) ,she told me it would be a process and she explained everything, really went into detail which i loved. With the first session my hair was looking good , better than I expected it even felt healthier I used (Olaplex) .Remember my hair was so bad with all that damage I had done to it ,so she told me everything I needed to do to prevent any further damage. Okay so let me start off by saying that I have NEVER been this happy with my hair. I've always wanted a certain color and have gone to many different places in state and out of state (since I was military) and never got what I wanted, my hair was triple colored and just horrible. Coming back home to Long Beach and finding Made In La has been such a blessing. Deedra is one of the most honest hairstylist I have ever gone too. She told me from the start it was going to be a process and she didn't let me down. I've been going to her since January this year and go in for toners about every 2-3 months. Stop reading other reviews and book yourself an appointment with Lumina! She is amazing and very detailed! I saw her for color correction and a haircut. I was really embarrassed to go to a salon because I tried bleaching my hair at home and it went horribly wrong. She was so kind and non judgmental.
