I had a great experience! The salon is very clean and tighty and has really good vibes. I hadn't gone to a salon for a haircut in very long time so I was wary but Janet really took care of me. I showed her some pictures of what I wanted and she did exactly that. My hair is long, thin, and had so many split ends but she managed to revive it. Prices are definitely reasonable as well, depending on the type of hair you have. She washed, conditioned, cut/styled, and blow dried my hair. I had an awesome experience and would definitely recommend. read more

The Cherry Blossom - So happy with my hair!! - Hair Salons Near Me - Long Beach, California

This review is long overdue. I have been going to Janet at the Cherry Blossom for a couple of years now. My hair is coarse, wavy, frizzy and dry (I use a lot of heat products). Until I met Janet, I always had trouble finding someone who could work with my hair type. I always come in with a picture inspiration or something in mind and Janet does magic to my hair. I've always left happy with my new do. We have played around with so many colors and styles from ombre, balayage, to single color dye. Most recently I wanted the rose gold look and I was so happy with how it came out. Before I left that visit, she gave me tips on how to keep the color vibrant and products to use to prevent it from fading. Being that my hair is so wavy, frizzy and hard to manage I had her do the Brazilian blowout on one of my visits. It was a process, but It left my hair so silky smooth and I probably didn't use any heat products for over 6 months because I had no need to. If you have my hair type you probably know what I am talking about when it comes to having to style it every day in order to manage it, but this helped. I will definitely be doing a Brazilian Blowout again. The last part of my review is on wedding hair do. I got married last year and being that Janet knows how to work with my hair I decided she should be the one to do my wedding hair. I really wanted hair extensions for my wedding, so she helped me choose the right brand and hairpieces. I had a hair trial with her before the wedding to work on my inspiration of half up and half down with my hair extensions. The day of the wedding the style came out perfect and my hair-do stayed in place until I went to sleep that night. Needless to say Janet knows her stuff and I always look forward to my next hair appointment to play with some new styles and colors. read more

Nice salon. Family owned. They do a great job on my family's hair. Prices reasonable.

Enjoyed getting my haircut by Janet. I was in need of a trim, so I spotted this place near my home. I looked it up and saw all the positive reviews so I gave it a try. I called and was able to schedule appointment that same day. I was greeted when I arrived and loved the cleanliness of the salon. I explained what I wanted and she did exactly as I expected. She shared some tips on managing my hair while I wait for the color to grow out. I will definitely go back. I finally found my salon. The price was so reasonable too. Happy to support this local hair salon. read more

I found the Cherry Blossom while driving down Market Street one day--the salon caught my eye with its red exterior and cute plants out front--and I decided to call and make an appointment. After looking at Janet's portfolio on Yelp, I decided I had found the right place. Janet is extremely talented with hair--she's a wizard! I am in love with my newest hairdo, as I have wanted to try a being a redhead for some time. Come check Janet out and go for that new style you have been eyeing! read more

I came across The Cherry Blossom and Janet when I was looking for a stylist to do a color correction. My friend had just gone to Janet and I loved the way her color blended so well. I decided to book an appointment with Janet and she took me on a hair journey. My hair was damaged, dry and was in need of a serious color correction. I let Janet know that I'd eventually like to go lighter and blonder and she advised me that we had to work in stages. The first stage was correcting the mess of streaked bleached hair I had. I literally had two huge chunks of bleached hair at the back of my head. Janet took my busted hair and made it beautiful again. Fast forward several months and the next stage was to go a few shades lighter. Omg, I was amazed on how great my hair looked and felt. I was expecting it to be dry and frizzy once I went lighter, but no, my hair is still shiny, soft and moisturized. Janet told me how to care for my hair and what products to use. I can't wait for my next appointment where I go even lighter! Best of all, Janet gives an awesome blow out. My curls on the second day stayed! On the third day, the curls loosened up and I had amazing beach waves!!! Janet is the best!!!!! read more

I'm so happy I found this little place close by. Stylist and mom are so sweet and friendly. Even though I had to take my energetic two year old with me they were super patient kind and understanding. My wash, cut and style were so pleasant and right on point I can't wait to go back. Thank you so much for your service in these tough times. I still LOVE this salon, still love the excellent customer service, and Janet's expertise! I just want to add something to the following in my original review: "She cuts my hair the way I describe what I want." Janet will politely offer suggestions if she had ideas to make what I describe even better. I trust her to take good care of my hair. read more

I went to the Cherry Blossom about a month ago for cut, color & highlights. This location is so cute, clean & the owner is so gifted in her craft. I loved my hair cut & the color was amazing. The products used are high quality & I love to support local businesses. Next time you need a cut and/ or color, make cherry your 1st choice. Highly recommended!! read more

I love love love love love this hair shop! I love it soooooo much i am actually there every week! There is soooo much to talk about lets see: This shop is a family own business. It's a mother and daughter duo. They are both really good! I have had both of them actually do my hair! Her mom (Rosa) is known for washing hair but she has done my hair on many occasions and I love it... had no problems. The hair shop is extremely clean. She makes sure that once you get to the station that everything is ready! Her bathroom is also clean. :) (I have had to change there before to go to a function!) I will continue to go to this hair shop until the close down... I will move to bum f*ck Egypt and still come to this hair shop! I wouldn't want it any other way! I love Janet and her mom Rosa and they do a very good job and its very very affordable. (Trust me I am a mother of 2 and I am always on a budget!) read more

I was on my way to a holiday party and made a last minute appointment for a hair blow out. The moment I walked in, I felt like I was a high class salon. Everything was so clean and neat. And girly! I waited a little more than expected because the woman was helping out a regular. But it was worth the wait. She got her mom to wash my hair (Oh yea, its a mom and daughter team. So cute.) and was with me in the nick of time. She was so charming once she got started on me. And while it was such a simple thing I went in for, I felt like she took such good care of me. Going for a cut tomorrow! read more

Called in last minute for a cut and color and Janet was able to squeeze me into her busy schedules. Awesome service already! Love the cut! Love the color! And most importantly it doesn't require any work to make my hair looks done in the morning. Thank you Janet and I can't go back to get my color lighter in a couple months. read more

A wonderful salon! Great stylist in every way: skilled at cuts, color, styles and is excellently attentive and really cares about giving the client exactly what he/she wants. My 2 year old is quite a wiggly one and she was able to give him an awesome cut in under 10 minutes. (I can't believe I didn't take pictures of it!) Janet was also the stylist for my wedding! She set my hair in a classically pretty updo which was easily shifted into a half-up-half-down-do for the reception. I've recommended plenty of friends and family to this place and will keep doing so! read more

Great customer service from Janet! She dyed my hair exactly how I asked her to ;) sweet and very nice, will be coming back to get my hair done again next month. read more

Janet was very sweat, she knew what color I wanted and spent 5 hours to work on my hair. Love my new ombre hair.

I was lucky enough to find this little hidden treasure. Jenna and her mom Rosa are very sweet and attentive. They're knowledgeable and had recommendations for my hair that is severely damaged after being bleached at a different salon. I know it will take time to restore it to where it was before but I know I'm in good hands. I hope they liked me too because I'm planning on sticking around for a long time . read more

I was super reluctant to get a haircut from a girl because I'm use to going to barbershops that stock copious amounts of pomade (I have a friend who owns one)and have beer available and offer typical classic haircuts and though those amenities are great for a guy looking for great conversation those things don't add up tot he skill that Janet places In her craft ,she takes the time to give you a cut an amazing cut ,She has cut my hair ever since ,even for my wedding I'll always place my trust in Janet she delivers amazing cuts amazing customer service, the best service, although small the cherry blossom is one of those big things in small packages sort of places.thank you Janet for always making me look 100 read more

I have been going here since it opened and all I can say is this place is AMAZING and here's why: 1. Janet is the best stylist-Ever. She really listens to her clients and helps them bring their hair ideas into fruition. I constantly dye my hair and with her guidance and expertise, I have been able to keep it healthy despite my need for a color change (every couple of weeks). 2. It's affordable, professional, and is up-to-date with the most current hair styles, practices, and products. It's like a high-end salon, but with affordable prices and in Long Beach (it's definitely a more down-to-earth environment)! 3. The salon is really cute and the decor is really neat and the best part: It doesn't smell like burnt hair or chemicals like other hair salons (that's a major plus for me). 4. Another great thing about this place is how willing they are to help you when you come by without an appointment. Most professional salons are really weird about walk-ins. Janet understands that some people have hair emergencies and she's willing to work her schedule around that. 5. Lastly, no matter what you get done: cut, color, updo, etc., you won't be disappointed with your results. Give it a try and see how this place is a great find. LOVE THIS PLACE! read more

By far this is the best Hair Salon! Have been coming here since 2006 when they first opened. Janet is the best in the business with tons of experience. Love trying new hair colors and cuts. There is no other person or place I would go to color, cut, or style my hair. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that the stylist, Janet, has a B.S. in Biology! I think it's so neat to watch her create the color you request by squeezing tubes of color and stuff in a bowl and determining the color by its weight. When I watch her she looks like a Chemist making magic before your eyes. She is so accurate and pays so much attention to detail I absolutely love getting my hair done here. She explains hair color and what goes in to lightening, or darkening hair. She only wants the best for your hair and treats it with so much care. This place is so awesome, and EVERY TIME I have left this salon I have felt like a STAR. read more

I absolutely love coming to this place I've been coming here for years. My whole family goes to her because she is so great Janet and her mother work really hard to get you looking as great as ever! She did every special occasion I needed. She is the only one I trust with my hair. My hair actually grows when she cuts it. Many people before her use to mess up my hair so terribly. She can deal with all types of hair and I know my hair isn't easy to straighten and highlight. So I appreciate her and her mother she has a long time customer here I will always come to her no doubt!!! read more
