That was in November. It is now February. These people refuse to answer the phone. They only communicate by text. She is 84! We finally got a hold of someone and they refuse to give her a refund because they gave her "a birthday discount". They have now been holding onto her money since November and told her they have no idea when the bras will be in. All we want is a refund and they refused to do so. Absolutely disgusting customer service and a horrible way to treat an elderly woman. Shame on them! If I could give them zero stars, I would. Very disappointing

Posting anonymously out of respect for my daughter, but I feel strongly that this needs to be said…read more We visited Chantilly Lace in Wilmette today, and I was completely stunned by the behavior of the owner. When we asked for help, she dismissed us without a second glance--as if we didn't belong. If it hadn't been for a remarkable salesperson named Bella, we would've walked out on the spot. Bella was calm, respectful, and incredibly kind to my daughter. She treated her with dignity and care during a difficult and deeply personal fitting process. It's important to note: very few places still offer this level of specialized help. Bella did it with grace--and was then openly mocked by the owner in front of us. That a younger business owner would belittle a more experienced and clearly valued staff member, especially in front of customers, is not just unprofessional--it borders on workplace harassment. When I got home, I looked up reviews- multiple sites. The pattern is undeniable: customers repeatedly praise the staff--while calling out the owner's outrageous behavior. And disturbingly, she often responds to reviews by insulting the customers themselves. One person described how a disabled individual was ridiculed. Sadly, this has become more common. A boutique in Northbrook called Such a Deal became notorious for shaming young girls who didn't match the owner's preferred body type. That store eventually closed. Max's in Highland Park also developed a reputation for demeaning its customers. While it's still open, the backlash permanently altered its client base--and its standing in the community. To Bella: thank you. You were the only reason we stayed. You treated my daughter like she mattered. You deserve better.

I wanted to go file a police report with the name of the person that used the card and she said that is a customer and has nothing to do with it. For weeks I called several stores, left messages and none of them would call me back. I really thought I had to cancel the show this year until Omaima came to my rescue! She not only returned my call but she also agreed to work with us to help make this show a success. We had set up a date and time for the girls to pick out a dress to wear for the show. By the time they arrived there was already an assortment of beautiful gowns ready for them to try on. Omaima and her assistant were so patient and kind. They made sure each girl chose a dress that not only made them feel confident and beautiful, but also flattering to their unique shape and height. The girls had a good time trying on dress after gorgeous dress, standing on the platform in front of the large mirrors, and admiring themselves and each other. As an added bonus Omaima even wrote descriptions of each dress for us to read during the show! The store is small but charming. The decor is warm and welcoming. I can imagine how a bride would feel being in this type of environment surrounded by their loved ones and saying "Yes to the dress." It just has that type of vibe. If you're looking for a dress for that special occasion, do not hesitate to come to Omaima Couture. You'll be glad you did!

Well it would appear that I have some issues with some small veins and blood flow around my ankles…read moreand was told that that needed to wear some compression hose for the next 4 months as a way to avoid a surgical outcome for now. My doctor (Dr. Z) strongly recommended Van Driel's out of all the possible (and closer) locations I could have gone to. This definitely was not the closest location, but I am so glad I made the trip. Also another important factor was that Van Driel's does Saturday appointments, so that was wonderful as I didn't have to worry about leaving work early to get there or deal with rush hour traffic. This was new territory for me as I didn't even know you needed a prescription or had to get measured/fitted for compression stockings, so this was a very informative visit for me. Claudia was absolutely wonderful as was the second woman (didn't get a name) who took my information upon arrival. After taking my measurements, Claudia explained to me the way the compression stockings worked, how they were designed and fitted and how to put them on/take them off. I had no idea it was that involved. Claudia explained the process for putting the stockings on properly as well as covered what not to do when putting them on, which is just as important it would seem. After the explanation, she went through step by step on putting then stocking on, then had me do it so she could watch my technique, while giving me tips and pointers during my attempt to put one on. She went through the process again on how to remove the stocking as well as the proper height to pull it up on the leg. She also discussed options with me as to what type I could get (toes covered or toes out). Claudia also covered my options as far as insurance goes in covering the purchases, so that was helpful. I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of look and feel for the stockings, but they were not as tight as I thought they would be and looked fine. COVID-wise, both Claudia and the other woman were wearing masks (as was I) and there was hand sanitizer available. While I was being fitted, Claudia had clean disposable pads on the floor as well as on the angled platform where my foot was place for the fitting of the stocking. While being fitted, Claudia mentioned that she knew my doctor very well as he had recommended many a patient to her location. I laughed because although Dr. Z said I could go to any of the locations on his the list he provided, he made a point of circling Van Driel's on the paper in a bold black circle. She mentioned that Dr. Z said many years ago that he trusted Van Driel's for fittings because it meant he wouldn't have to check the fitting later. Claudia mentioned that most doctor's most likely wouldn't check the fitting once you purchase the compression stockings, but knowing Dr. Z, he would most definitely do that if he didn't have complete trust in the vendor I had purchased them from. That speaks volumes for me. So if you or a loved one needs to purchase compression stockings, I would recommend this place highly. I also noticed that they offer other compression equipment for wrists, legs, etc., so it looks like one stop shopping for all of your compression needs.

I wanted a dress that I could only wear on my wedding day - something with bling, poof, and shimmer - but also something incredibly flattering and sexy without being too sexy. I'm part of a large bridal group on FB and everyone raved about Brides by Young so I had to try them out. I honestly was expecting to need to go to a bunch of stores so I figured this would be one of a few stops. I was wrong (thank goodness!). Bonnie was my girl that day and she did a really wonderful job. I sent over examples of what I wanted (from Pinterest and other bridal shows) but what I saw online I wasn't "in love" with so I didn't think I would really find my dress. Bonnie studied the dresses I wanted, my budget, and my personality and picked 5 dresses that I EASILY could have chosen and been in love with. All in all I tried on 7-8 dresses, but 5 of them I had a hard time choosing between - they were all so wonderful and exactly my style and what I wanted! With the help of Bonnie, my mom, my two besties and my future step-daughter, we picked THE dress. It was everything I wanted and more. Bonnie was so helpful the entire time, being cautious about my budget and always asking me before seeing a new dress if I was okay with the cost. She gave me the hard truth about the cost of tariffs, tax, and alterations so that I wasn't surprised later on. Everyone loved her - but really the entire staff was wonderful. I would probably say this isn't the place if you're on a strict smaller budget - my dress was not cheap, but it was perfect and I was willing to spend the extra money. I was on the smaller size of the average dress size there, but very impressed with the variety of sizes for curvy girls! They recommended Alterations by Sylvia in Arlington Hts and I'm SO glad they recommended her! The alterations made my dress even better somehow and they were great to work with. Not the place to go on a strict, smaller budget - but they did it correct the first time and it was honestly so perfect. All pictures were by Mel Schroeder Photography in the Chicago suburbs.
