Service wasn't to good courtesy and politeness wasn't enough to make me feel welcomed

Was running in errand in Clemmons and decided to run in because I've heard alot of good things. They have a great coffee menu and so many wonderful desserts. I didn't know what to choose but went with the strawberry pound cake and a Gilmore Girls themed cold brew. Both were delicious. The cake slice was massive so I ate on it for a couple of days. They have a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating and WiFi so this is a great place to meet up with someone or to get work done. All Of the employees were super nice and pleasant and ready to give suggestions. Hope to come and try some of the lunch items in the cooler! read more

Well now they serve wine too!! This is awesome . Had a afternoon glass of bubbly today because why not....they have the flutes not just a plastic cup. They still carry an array of cakes and now they have even more to choose from. Lots of savory items too. Great coffee seasonal menu. I just love they serve wine now though. I have been stopping in at Maddie Cakes since they opened years ago. My favorite item is always, always, always the Funfetti cupcake! I'm a sprinkle lover-so this is my style! I especially love them at Christmas when they make a Funfetti cupcake with green icing to look like a Christmas tree! No matter the day of week, they always have a larger than average assortment of cupcakes, cookies, brownies, cakes, and other yummy goodies in the case. You can special order items and even get coffee drinks here, too. There's ample seating in the main area and out of the way of the service counter, which I really appreciate. The folks that work here are always super friendly and get you in and out, without rushing you. They are very helpful and answer any questions you have! It's a bit out of the way for me to visit here, but when I'm passing through I always try to stop. read more

I've heard about Maddie Cakes but this was the first time I went in to check it out. In the world of gourmet bakeries Maddie Cakes is not making a bunch of fancy super expensive treats. However, I would choose this place over any of the others because of the huge variety, and truly homemade quality of their food. When we were there it was around 10:00am on a Saturday morning. The cases were filled with a beautiful selection of whole cakes, many varieties of cupcakes, bar cakes, and puddings. Everything looked delicious! Today we chose a sausage and cheddar scone on recommendation from one of the employees. We also added a cookie dough stuffed croissant because THAT was something I had never seen anywhere and I needed to try it....for science, you know...research purposes! The kind employee offered to warm both our items and while we waited my husband ordered a coffee and I grabbed a cold Mash drink from the refrigerated case. The whole place is bright and open with various types of seating from comfy sofas to high tables with stools. Since we were sharing we took a table in the middle of the dining area and waited for our items to be ready. First bite of the scone was delectable. The sausage and cheddar was plentiful. It was moist and flaky. Super good! We each ate half then moved on the the cookie stuffed croissant . Wow! Such decadence! It's basically a croissant topped with cookie dough all bakes together. The cookie part was crispy on the outside and gooey in the middle. It was super sweet so we shared half then took the other half home to share with my sons. Choosing was the hardest part this time being our first time in. We heard they have amazing cinnamon rolls but they were out the day we were there. I'll tell you, I will be back to Maddie Cakes to try more. How can I resist? read more

We were in the area and my wife noticed the signage for Maddie Cakes. She knew it to be a popular place to get sweet treats and coffee drinks. We decided to check it out. We walked inside and immediately felt the homey presence. Arranged with both couches and tables and chairs, there was a mixture of people relaxing and talking and some utilizing the tables as a place to use their laptops. Either way it appeared people were enjoying the space. We approached the display cases near the counter to get a better idea of the goodies. The whole cakes displayed were gorgeous! We also saw favorites like banana pudding cups, assorted cheesecakes, cupcakes, brownies, and a large selection of cookies. We were greeted by a young woman who was extremely friendly and helpful. My wife asked a few questions and ultimately decided on a s'mores cookie and a banana pudding cup for later. She also purchased a cute sugar cookie decorated as a cup of pumpkin spice coffee for a friend. The prices were reasonable and we were soon on our way. My wife enjoyed the cookie but later today she enjoyed the banana pudding cup after dinner and promised me it was the star of the show. Maddie Cakes is another great bakery option in the area and we're glad to have finally stopped in. read more

This is an attractive little spot that has relaxed, comfortable ambiance. It is clean and bright, as well. They have cakes, pies, cupcakes, bars, cookies, scones, and even croissant sandwiches ( on my visit they were offering Pimento Cheese and Chicken Salad)! These often brightly colored items are attractively displayed. They also make cakes to order for birthdays and special occasions. I chose a Strawberry Cupcake and a Salted Caramel cookie. Both were simply excellent, with the cookie being as good as I've tasted! The service was efficient and personable. I love this local bakery. There's so much variety that it never gets old. Cupcakes, bars, banana pudding, cookies, cakes, brownies... and more. There's also savory items and coffee offered since there's seating inside to eat and enjoy good company. Some of my favorites to date have been the banana pudding and caramel pound cake. My son and I just love Maddie cakes! He goes to occupational therapy around the corner so we typically stop in before or after to grab a cupcake, and iced latte for me, and any other of the numerous desserts that always look and are so delicious. The staff of ladies are always so nice and helpful when my son is making silly requests like extra sprinkles on his cupcake. This place brings us a lot of joy and I'm so glad we found it. Their iced coffee menu is massive and amazing with options like a chocolate banana latte I have to say though my absolute favorite thing on the menu is the lemon bar, it is other worldly. Cute little cafe. It's very welcoming. The storefront is easy to find in the shopping center. It is set up with plenty of outdoor seating and ample shade. Just inside there's additional seating - mix of tables and soft seating - and the register/kitchen in the back. The decor feels hand picked and fits perfectly with the overall ambiance. As for the menu...if you aren't good at making decisions, then prepare yourself. The smell as you walk in will make you want to order whatever's in oven. We got a smoothie, frozen lemonade, chicken salad croissant, a Swiss chocolate cupcake and a Maddie Cakes Lunchable. Everything was amazing. We will definitely be back to try more on the menu! I love, love supporting small local businesses and have been visiting Maddie's most Saturdays since she opened. Their Swiss Chocolate Cake is definitely in my top 3 favorite ever and if they have carrot cake I snatch it up ASAP (no coconut which is so hard to find). It's so moist and delicious. I'm not an icing person but they've turned me into one:) This is my go-to place to grab a sweet treat or five for a friend that needs a pick-me-up.
