Asian grilled chicken salad - AMAZING!
    Alex B.

Acorn squash - Good! Flavorful and thick. Chicken poblano soup - WOW! FIVE STARS PLUS! It's a sad state of affairs that homemade soups are becoming more of a thing of the past. Also thick, full of flavors with lots of complex layers and a slight kick that creates a great finish. Grilled chicken salad - WOW! OK. This is my new favorite restaurant! Soooooo good! Thick slices of chicken (not that skinny gmo crap) with AMAZING sesame ginger dressing. Sante Fe chicken salad - Perfect! Tasty, ideal amount, and tasty dressing (I ordered the balsamic and raspberry vinegarette mix) Black and white cookie - decent for sure. "Imported" from NY. (The white side is more tasty than the black interestingly enough). Overall I wouldn't order it again but don't have regrets with munching down on it either. Overall I'd give this place a 4.5+ rating! Friendly staff, great local option at the end of our road with what taste like homemade soups. They've been here since last November but we just now stumbled across it by accident today! Will be returning here soon

    My delicious customized salad.

Food was great and the staff is friendly. Family owned. You can customize any salad, pick all your ingredients on the ticket and order it to your liking. Don't forget to asked to toss it, I forgot to put it on the ticket. Great desserts too. Mom makes them fresh!!!

    Mad Salads was a hit!

We were down from Massachusetts and stoped in for lunch. Both our salads were fantastic! I had Asian Chicken and she had Cobb. Everything was very fresh and the service was excellent!!

When we first entered, there was just one table occupied, it was early afternoon. The music was a bit too much for the setting. The environment was clean. But, it took 5 minutes or more for someone to come out and greet us. We went to the restroom and almost left, thinking they were closed. But, finally they noticed us. Thank goodness, because I had one of the best BLTAs of my life. The bread looked boring, but it was soft and the perfect blank slate for the seitan bacon, tomato, avocado, and mayo. Very tasty! My husband had the Tofu Rueben. The tofu was a thick slab and the faux corned beef idea would have been better as thin seitan slices. But, he still enjoyed it. Both came with a small salad of just lettuce. I enjoyed my meal (obviously) but I think they could improve their hospitality. Prices indicate a higher level of service. Maybe to go is best.

The food is Mondo Biondo with flavor. The great thing is anybody can eat here. It is billed as a vegetarian vegan place or plant base place actually but they have meat and fish on the menu. Just they're very careful about where they source their products. I brought two of my friends here that are very picky from the Midwest and they were in love with the place. It has a nice ambience, very clean, kind of industrial, but warm ceilings are very high, so even though it's a small place it does not feel small in the least. The Chef is amazing! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and customer service oriented. It is on one of the main streets in Sarasota and if you walk by, it may not look that interesting but I am telling you you are missing out on a truly exceptional food experience. Go here do not wait. It is definitely a place that makes your taste buds come alive..

They're conveniently located on Fruitville Rd near the Sprouts market and they're a perfect spot to stop by whether you need a quick bite or on your way to or from the beach in the area. There isn't anything I've tried here that has disappointed. Note that their hours of operation do change every so often so check on Google before visiting. I think my favorite of all the options is the Portobello mushroom melt. It does have a considerable amount of moisture from the tofu, portobello mushroom and spinach combination. I've learned it's best to have it at the restaurant and lifting the bread ever so slightly once your unwrap the sandwich so that it releases the extra heat before you enjoy it. It'll save you from a burn! I like asking for tempeh "bacon" or soy curls as add-ons depending on which item I'm ordering. Tempeh "bacon" works great on sandwiches and soy curls in the wraps. I also like their fried mushroom sandwich which is supposed to mimic a Chick-fil-A sandwich because it's satisfying but not heavy. Their brown sugar Oatmylk iced coffee was nice because it didn't taste sugary and I liked their iced tea option that was the very berry forward one. They have good sweets also like their banana chocolate chip muffin. I'm looking forward to trying their vegan tiramisu.

Phone quickly answered, short on hold... very pleasant and professional order process! 20 minute to pick up. Got two orders of 6 each order of wings (first time ordering these) one Parmesan / Garlic and the other classic Buffalo Wings. They pledge 1/2 flats, 1/2 drums. The wings were failry properly cooked.... maybe a little longer on lower heat. But nicely seasoned even if a little charred on the Buffalo? 7/10 Not horrible. Not rubbery so good product and fresh. the Parmesan / garlinc wings were also good, Awesome garlic and oil sauce on top and these were tasty. My wife was not aware they were parmesan coated until I told her as there was almost none to zero parmesan sprinkled or chunked on the wings. This with the garlic and oil base would have been awesome. so have to go with an 8/10 for those. One Blue cheese and one Ranch on the side. Ranch good , the blue cheese was watery and not sure what it was. The Blue Cheese expert lover said "NO" for next time. (Yech! bad restaurant bulk product) So popping them up a notch to get Johnny Tomatoes Pizza above the rest of the masses. Counter service/pickup is awesome and the people in the store are fantastic!!! Looks like they are doing well as they should be!!! Nicely above average pizza, wings and food.

Finally tried a pizza from Johnny Tomatoes in Venice, off of Tamiami near Walmart…read more(Tamiami/Jacaranda). For all the hype that this is NJ thin crust, I personally, was disappointed. The Pepperoni Pizza we had was ok, not great nor bad. I have been down here for almost 3 years and have yet to find "authentic". Jersey or NY Pizza. There are plenty of places in Venice that offer good pizza. Food is very personal and many if not most, like tastes that remind them of what they might have grown up with. This doesn't only apply to pizza. I like Asaros (takeout), and places like Naples and Made in Italy for bar size pizza (eat in). I have tried others like Angelos, Sicilia's (sic), and others. They too are ok, but not what I prefer as a go to "pie". I would say give Johnny Tomato's a try. The staff are nice and it might be good for you. I would say the crust is similar to Dominos. For those of you who might not like my judgement, just for background, I grew up in NJ, worked 4 years in a Pizzeria in Madison NJ (Romanelli's) and have been spoiled by NY pizza from John's Pizza off of Broadway (old church bldg) and in Jersey City. I love Regina Pizza in Boston (original location on Thatcher St in the Northend) and loved the Haymarket Pizza in the late 80's the first time I moved to Boston. Don Pepe's in New Haven CT is great too, though their lack of style in slicing pizza ticks me off. They just hap hazardly cut it which ever which way! I also love Detroit and Chicago deep dish ... different styles but nonetheless delicious. Don't take my word for it, but try Johnny Tomatoes for yourself. I love people whom are trying to bring a slice of their home to Florida! Support these entrepreneurs!
