For sure the real deal in Wilmington. Special place in my heart to be solar powered, as well. My good friends at Cape Fear Solar installed their solar modules and system, super cool. Solar-powered beer tastes better. The ILM is my fav, but Sarah teased me with three additional samples, all good! The food truck was here, I did not partake. This is a great space with indoor/outdoor seating...the bar is pretty cool - seat with the murdered mole...you figure it out... Love this place, will be back.

What a Great place, You are greated by Sara(h) when you walk in what a friendly young lady with a great beer menu of all the Mad mole favorites and they do have Cider even though its not on the menu. Ask for the Password for WiFi, I have Verizon and it is a dead zone, cool little place, keep in mind we got there and it was slow, had not been open long, I can see how it could be very crowded, quiet areas at the back and outdoor seating with heaters. We were waiting for the food truck to arrive but it never showed, went to a better selling part of town or just plain forgot their commitment to MM. We will come back just to say hey to her and her man (at the bar), Didnt give me permission to add his name sooooo.... Check it out, well Done MM

Love the name of this brewery and the whole mole theme! Service was very friendly, beer is good, and I love that the pilsners are served in proper glasses! Parking is easy, they are dog friendly inside and outside, and have a self pour water tap.

On our way home from vacation and spent a day in Wilmington. This was by far my favorite brewery. I love the whole theme going on and the beers were spot on. Darth Mole and Star Nose hit the spot. Don't overlook a strip mall spot, you may find a hidden gem.

We love this place! The bartenders are so friendly and attentive! They act like they want you there rather than seeing you as an inconvenience, as a few other breweries do. They have a wide selection of beer and it is ALL good! I can't believe how many good beers they have! Their flights are the best way to sample it all. They have live music and food trucks on Saturday nights. This place is large so you will be able to spread out and get away from people. They also have a nice outdoor area, but we've sat inside when there because the bartenders are fun to chat with (and I'm not a person who has to be chummy with everyone). Also, don't overthink it - they don't hover over their patrons either. Dogs are welcome!

You order your beer at the door (flights are currently unavailable) and take it to enjoy inside or outside. We sat inside, both spaces are on the smaller side with the tables being socially distanced. This brewery is neat because the brewing process is powered by solar energy. We tried the Darth Mole (stout), Boston Mole Party (IPA) and Molicious (IPA). The names are clever but the beer itself was just okay. I wasn't huge on either IPA and my husband thought the stout was average.

First time at the MadMole but Cheesesmith Truck was out front and my friend was signing with Moxie & Flo so it was about damned time I made it out to thiss brewery. It's tucked away from the Main road and a little tough to find when it's dark out and you have no clue which way to turn. But when you find it you will be delighted. Fantastic outdoor seating, loads of parking, the taproom is gorgeous with plenty of seating at the bar and tables! While the band was great and thee food truck was incredible the beer was delicious!!! Great selection, flavor that is spott in and more than you expect. Even their merch is extra wonderful. Service was unexpected. It was a packed house and the bartenders were all over it. We never waited for service. They were friendly laid back but on it!

I really wanted to like this place more than I actually do! It's a great spot. The bar is amazing and beautiful with the brass countertop and the giant steel brewing equipment everything they use solar power!!! I want to like it but sadly what I tried was all pretty average. Not bad but just average. Came for the Moledalorian but like The Last Jedi it kinda fell flat. Slightly bitter with a weird tobacco after taste... This is not the way. The best I tried was their raspberry. Light and refreshing a solid beer especially on a hot N.C. summer day. In Wilmington's ever growing craft beer scene Mad Mole is decent but it could be way better.

This is such a cool brewery! Highly recommend stopping in! They actually are powered by solar panels and were just entered in and WON the nations best solar powered micro brewery! Besides that the beer is really good! Our bartender was so nice! Very friendly and kept checking on us to see if we needed anything else. I had a flight with the darth mole (great darker beer), the raspberry (light and fruity), mole party (a really nice tasty IPA) and one mole (another good IPA). I really liked all the beers I had and two people in our group got Sauvignon blanc and said it was good. And there's a really cute outdoor area with little lights and multiple larger picnic tables, would be good for a group. There were some yard games outside. And the outdoor patio was dog friendly!

Awesome menu with creative beer names!

Collin Underwood and Sarah are the best bartenders I have ever met. I would come back 100 times over.

By far, best beer/people in town. Luckily they have been able to adapt well to the current Covid restrictions

The under-21 policy is divisive but there are plenty of good nearby places to bring kids (Bend,…read moreOTP, etc...) They don't regularly have food so confused why you'd bring small kids anyways. I like the atmosphere. It feels like a casual bar and for that alone it's worth going to. And even when they allow kids during the days they have a section that prohibits them which is surprisingly relaxing. Nice to sit with our dog and relax. Beers are decent. Some are a little spendy but I once you get used to the specials the prices are more than reasonable. Sundays are awesome.

I can understand why this might attract some people to this place but it's completely excluding a whole group of people who might be able to go out without their kids. Not everyone has babysitters or would love to go out with their whole family as a unit. Also what if you're meeting a friend group that doesn't have kids and you can't come in because you have a child? Having young kids can feel difficult enough but taking away a space where they can be safe in an open green area while you can enjoy other adults and a nice beer is just hurtful. Also they often say come back in the afternoon but most parents with young kids know that's when they nap.

We found through a search, and wandered into Flytrap Brewing this past weekend for the first time…read more Located at 319 Walnut Street. The space, equal parts cozy taproom and shaded beer garden, feels both vibrant and homey. If you're reading this and asking yourself what is the region's native icon, the Venus Flytrap - we have catching up to do. Read history below the review. The mood was easygoing. Two staff members, juggling orders with grace, kept the taps moving and the vibe relaxed. We had the Oatmeal Porter (dark, smooth, layered with chocolate, roasted malt, and caramel) And the Brook's Mulberry Lemonade (a blend of house-made lemonade and beer, fermented with mulberries hand-picked from Brook's garden). Both were super delicious. Flytrap Brewing sits tucked in a quiet Wilmington neighborhood, and it feels like it belongs there. The thoughtful drinks, easy crowd, and unpretentious energy, we will for sure be back! History: The Venus flytrap, scientifically known as Dionaea muscipula, is native to a limited area of the southeastern United States. I don't know if Flytrap has a new brewer or what has happened to their beer or choices in beer styles but for quite some time now I have not found a beer from them worth stopping in for. It's extremely disappointing because they used to have some of the best beer in town but not anymore.
