August 2024: 0/5 stars for unreliable service and lack of accountability. I booked a $300+ move out clean with this company over a week in advance. They tried to reschedule my booking the morning of my service and when I reiterated the time crunch associated with the move out, they committed to send another team later that same day. They cancelled this rescheduled appointment on me as well and offered no attempt to rectify the issue and ignored my phone calls. Save yourself the stress and book elsewhere for reliable service. read more

We booked mad maids for a first time deep clean with a set up bi weekly upkeeping clean thereafter. Today was the first day and will need to cancel upcoming appointments. Nothing was dusted, bed side tables, bathroom counters, tops of dressers and shelves all left dirty. Second bathroom tub/ shower were not cleaned. The door rails in the shower not cleaned, only the door. There were cleaning bottles left in two different rooms. The fridge interior was not cleaned. The product used on all stainless appliances left smear marks all over them, bath mat thrown onto and left on my bedroom floor in a pile. Mirrors were left dirty, blinds and window sils left dirty. Bathroom floors on second level left unwashed. Essentially paid 180 to have the toilets cleaned and floors vacuumed. For a first time " deep clean" with everything read more

Worst cleaning I ever had. Even brought a kid to my house. Broke my stove never cleaned except my floor. Gave my money back read more

We were impressed with how clean everything was! I have only used professional cleaners a few times, so I'm never quite sure what to expect. The woman from Mad Maids did a great job. She even cleaned the inside of our awful microwave (spaghetti sauce explosion) and I didn't realize that would be included. She showed up on time, brought her own cleaning supplies and vacuum, and did a great job of cleaning. It was easy to book online and it was really clear how much everything cost, including extra add-ons if you wanted more than the basic cleaning. I will certainly use Mad Maids again next time I need a cleaner. read more

Overall they did a good job cleaning. My house is a bi-level split. Only 900 square feet with 3 tiny bedrooms and 1 full and one 1/2 bath. One "bedroom" is so small that we use it as a storage room and therefore they did not have to clean it. Our living room, 2nd bedroom and 1/2 bath are downstairs cause that's how our house was built. I still paid the flat rate for a 3 bedroom/2 bathroom house, but was questioned and I was made to feel like they didn't have to go downstairs and clean because it is the "basement." Maybe in most homes, but not mine. Also the deep clean includes a wiping of the kitchen cabinets and they were still completely dirty. Only one of the 2 beds were made. The floors, oven and bath tub were cleaned well though. read more

Very impressed. Ladies showed up within the estimated window and did a great job. We had a terrible tenant that left quite a mess and the ladies did a wonderful job getting everything cleaned and ready for the new tenants. read more

Today I had Mad Maids come through my home to clean it alongside my regularly cleaning. My partner and I are listing our house for sale on Tuesday, so we were hoping to have things spotless with an extra clean from professionals alongside our regular practice. I'll start with the good. Mad Maids has a fantastic online booking system. There's no question that it's easy to see the price for your space. It's really easy, really slick, and has fantastic reminders telling you when folks will be coming to your space to clean it. All of this was great, and I have no complaints. Alongside the awesome booking system, their central customer service was equally amazing. I communicated with a fantastic lady who listened to my concerns (see next section), and responded as best she could. They have a great 200% guarantee in that if it's done poorly the first time, they will send someone out to fix it. In my case, however, this wasn't satisfactory as we have a very obvious deadline and a packed schedule between now and then. While the customer service end was very good, the actual cleaning was less than satisfactory for me, and, in my opinion, sloppy at best. I actually ended up checking the price menu following my service, and realized my cleaners had missed dusting furniture, cleaning my microwave, cleaning my oven (which I had actually paid extra for), cleaning one set of my blinds (which I had paid extra for), vacuuming my furniture, and running the dishwasher. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed with the actual clean itself. That said, I did send an email to customer service, and they did their best to try to "right" the situation, but it wasn't really possible with the timeline I'm currently operating under. As it stands, what I paid for is rather overpriced for what I got. Generally I feel like their rates are reasonable based on what their cleaning menu is supposed to include, but I didn't get a good portion of what I'd paid for, and thus feel like I overpaid for what I received. read more

I'm a real jerk. I hired these folks to clean my place before I moved out, and realized truly how much of a pig I am. They were able to get there 10 minutes after 5 during Friday rush hour. Upon arrival, I already felt bad. They were very nice. If they were evil and cruel like the Libyans that shot Doc Brown, I would have had no problem. I let them start their work, and went across to the Beggar. Coming back when they had finished was life-changing. The place was spotless. Bathrooms looked fit enough for royalty to take a dump. Carpets were vacuumed well. THEY CLEANED MY GARBAGE CAN. The one place I've never cleaned because it's where my trash goes. Amazing job to Desiree and her partner at Mad Maids. I'll be getting a regular service at my new apartment, and know exactly where to turn. Tip your cleaners, folks. read more

The cleaners did a very good job on most of the items. Paid extra for a deep clean, windows etc, but was very disappointing when the girls wiped down the middle of each set of blinds, leaving dust along the tops and edges. They did not clean the cupboards as the website said they do, and their response via email was that the girls couldn't reach it, so they didn't do it. They did offer to come back and clean the blinds again, but I already took care of it. They have been unresponsive to my last email for 7 days, asking for clarification that they do not clean anything above head height for their staff. I personally will never use their service again, they were very expensive, and only did 90% of the job. read more

Mad Maids completely changed the way I look at my condo. Not only did they clean it from top to bottom, but they also organized the clutter that was becoming an eye-sore. Their services were well worth the price and I'll be calling them again. -Amelia read more

This was my first time using a home cleaning service and I really liked it. They charge a flat rate which helps you know exactly what you're going to be paying in total based on your space. You can also add on extras for additional cleaning, I added stove cleaning for $20, totally worth it! They were at my condo for about three hours total and were very thorough, cleaning all the bathrooms until they shined, they even cleaned the garbage cans. They dusted all the rooms and took time and care cleaning the floors and counters. When they left the place looked as good as it did when we first moved in and it was brand new. Definitely worth it as a treat before the holidays or company comes to visit, I have recommended them to friends and would use them again. read more

My partner and I had been away from the condo (1000 SQFT - 2BD/2BTH) for a couple of months, and both weren't up to catching up on the cleaning that was required. We were looking to try a cleaning service to get a deep clean done and turn over into a recurring service. To start, we used the online booking tool which was very well built to book a deep clean with a couple of options (clean interior walls, clean interior windows, green clean - aquariums in the residence). We choose the 8-11AM time for the following day. Unfortunately they fell behind schedule; however, we were promptly contacted regarding their approximate availability that day which ended up around noon. The two-person group showed up and went straight to work after a short talk. They were very pleasant and unobtrusive. After a couple of hours, they completed their work and continued on there way. Overall they did a fantastic job for the items they did complete. My only issue preventing me from giving 5 stars is the several items that were missed or overlooked. I would have given 3 stars if this was left as is; however, upon being notified about the missed items they are willing to send the team out again to finish the remaining items. My observation regarding the matter is the teams not fully understanding their pricing menu and the expectations associated with it, which has been a comment made by other reviewers. read more

They were friendly and did a great job upstairs. I guess they can't move furniture or electronics so I still had to clean under my couch . They did a great job of what they could do. read more

OMIGOSH NEVER BOOK WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! they charge you double for whatever they can. Every 4 walled space is a bedroom so a 3 bedroom home to them is a 7 bedroom home and they'll charge you for a finished basement plus the bedrooms in the basement, and change the charges no matter how you booked, so you think you're paying one amount, and then they go ahead and charge what they think they should charge you. If they feel like they did organizing they'll add an hour charge for organizing. A little here, a little there, just to increase the final price. It's disgusting. FIND AN OTHER COMPANY!!!! read more

I have now used Mad Maids for the 2nd time. Their pricing strategy is quite different from other cleaning services in that they charge a flat rate based on the number of bedrooms in a home. This worked out well for me when I was in a townhouse (with basement) not so much with a condo. HOWEVER, I was so satisfied with the initial service they provided (move in move out) that I requested the same staff start performing a bi-weekly clean for me. I have to say, I am very satisfied with their work and for context: I have used about 4 other companies/ individuals within YYC. The Mad Maids staff were friendly, required no supervision and quite professional. They are detail oriented which is what I NEED as my place is usually relatively clean. Unfortunately the team I used is heading on vacation and I will not be able to get them for my next 2 services, so I only hope the other staff was as great as my initial folks. Also, 3 months between by 1st and 2nd service I realize I had double paid for a particular add on service (by selecting it in 2 categories), I wrote the customer service and within 1 day they had contacted me with a satisfactory resolution and even called to follow up. Especially in an industry with a lot of competition, Quality and Service are really the driving factors. This far, Mad Maids has really delivered a top notch service in both service and quality and I hope they keep it up (remember I have only used the same team twice). read more

I hired Mad Maids to clean my boyfriend's house and was able to get next-day service - I submitted a booking request online at 6:20pm and within 90 minutes the coordinator had found a 2-person team to come the next day during the arrival window I requested. The online booking system was easy, with fair and transparent flat pricing, and the coordinator communicated well by phone & text. The cleaning team was friendly and did a thorough, efficient job scrubbing everything. Thank you Tatenda, Justin and Mad Maids! Would certainly hire again. read more

The first 2 cleanings of my house were unsatisfactory. However, the management is great, and made sure that I felt satisfied by helping me to sort through what I felt had not been done, and returning to fix it. read more

Third cleaning with mad maids and am very pleased. Their customer service is unbelievable and they work extremely hard to correct any issues. My last two cleanings have been amazing. On the most recent clean I noticed they even took the burners off the stove and cleaned under them. I am a regular customer now! read more

Booking process easy. Flat rate is great plus. Arrived on time with their own supplies (you can use your own if you have a preference for a particular product) I had a deep clean and they did a fantastic job (and I'm fussy) They let me know when they were finished and followed up with me to ask if everything was ok. I will be using them for biweekly cleaning going forward and would highly recommend read more

I am updating this review after receiving an email from Mad Maids about my review. Right after I posted I received an email from the Manager requesting to send another team in the fix the problems I had at no charge even though it was past the 24 hour guarantee period. I was super impressed that Mad Maids reached out to me to rectify the situation. Had the follow-up cleaning yesterday and the job was beyond excellent! Very happy with the follow-up service and the customer service overall. I will be using Mad Maids again for sure! _______________________________ I used MadMaids for the first time and I would say they were pretty good but there were a few items I was not 100% happy with 1. Their attention to detail was not the best. I paid for a deep clean and there were corners that were not wiped down and pockets of dust missed. Additionally, they didn't wipe down things like the light switches or the fridge handle or get at the dust under the TV stand 2. I am not 100% certain the floors were washed / mopped. I know they swept and vacuumed but there were still spots on tile and hardwood after they left that were in plain sight 3. I thought I had read if you leave out clean sheets they will change / make the bed (maybe I was wrong) but this was not done. My bedroom bed wasn't even made so not sure what happened there I was pretty sick on the weekend so decided to not call within the 24-hour timeframe to have some items fixed as I really didn't want any more people in the house. read more

Used Mad Maids several times. While initially they did a good job, my last cleaning was terrible and I had to clean after they left. They didn't even fold up the blanket on my couch or straighten the pillows. Also left stains in the sink and didn't clean water stains off the taps. read more

Mad Maids came and did a much needed cleaning of our home on Christmas Eve and focused on our bathrooms and bedrooms. The cleaning team was punctual (arriving exactly when they said they would), extremely courteous, and made an extra effort to connect with my son as they arrived. There were extra finishing touches put on our bathrooms that i did not expect which left them looking great. When the team left they sent me a message letting me know they were done for the day and had locked up the house. Overall, I was very happy with the service we received and would highly recommend them to others. read more

Let me start with the good. I was looking for a thorough cleaning for Christmas and Mad Maids was able to accommodate. The cleaners were VERY nice people. Then this. I paid for a deep clean for a 3 bedroom house. One room was sectioned off as I had to put my dogs somewhere as in the email it stated they would be there between 8-9am. They got there around 3:30 in the afternoon. I paid almost $400 for a whole house clean. What I received was less than satisfactory. I paid for cupboards to be cleaned, the top was missed, lights were missed, the basement was not done, the top of the fridge was not cleaned (even though I paid for a fridge cleaning) I ended up cleaning for 4 hours AFTER I paid for cleaners to clean my house. They offered to come back....... after Christmas. Then I was offered $70 off my next clean........why would I want you to come back to my house to clean again when it was not cleaned in the first place. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED !!! read more

Mad Maids starts out ok but put them on a regular basis and good luck if they show up on time. I understand things happens so do tell me you are going to be late and don't say 20 mins. when you know you will show up an hour and a half late. Once they did show up they did a sub-par cleaning job because they were in a hurry and behind. When I was asked to comment, by Mad Maids, I gave my opinion and then heard nothing back. Just the same old thing over and over. Thankfully now I have excellent Ladies who actually care and show up on time. read more

I hired Mad Maids for a move out cleaning. The Internet quote and reservations system was both easy and quick. Estrella and her assistant arrived on time, were pleasant, worked hard, and left my rental looking better than when I moved in. I would definitely use them again. read more

This is a pricey service but you're paying for convenience & speed in booking. I booked for the next business day - who else can come right away?!?! I have used this company twice and will do so again. read more

We have used them about 5 times in the last year. Our first experience with them was good, so we hired them again. This time, we paid for a move-out clean of our home while we were away (it was going on the market the day after we got back). When we went to inspect our home when we got back, they hadn't done the vast majority of the things we paid extra for as part of the move-out clean (inside cupboards, dusting etc.) We called them immediately as our home was being listed the next day, and they couldn't get anyone there to finish the job. So we ended up doing all the cleaning ourselves (with our 3 year-old and 4 month-old in tow). While they gave us a credit, the aggravation of having to re-clean our home was more than the compensation could make up for. What was particularly disturbing about it was that we paid for all kinds of extras for a move-out clean and they did a very cursory job, probably thinking that we wouldn't go by the home (which we had already moved out of) to see whether they had actually done all the things we paid for. Another time, a crew scratched and damaged our Viking range by using inappropriate cleaning products on it. All they did was offer to pay for a repair kit. The final straw came on December 23rd. We had booked them weeks in advance to come that morning as we were hosting Christmas at our home that weekend. After spending the day before getting the house ready for the big clean, someone called at 8:00 AM on the 23rd (when they were supposed to show up) and said "the team that was supposed to come this morning would like to come clean your home next week instead, is that ok?" After telling her that, no, it wasn't ok as I'd booked them on the 23rd for a specific reason, she said the crew "didn't feel comfortable on the roads that day." While it snowed that day, it didn't start for hours after they were supposed to come. I even offered to pay for a cab to get them to my house if they really didn't feel like driving, but that was dismissed. I got the sense that whatever crew was supposed to come just didn't feel like working that day. So I spent the day cleaning the house myself. The representative was somewhat less than apologetic and said that they would give us a 20% discount on our next clean. Not even close to good enough, there will be no more cleans with Mad Maids for us. It totally depends on what crew you get with them. A couple were good and the rest either did terrible cleaning jobs or didn't even show up. Avoid them! read more

I originally saw this company through an ad on Facebook, I liked there pricing strategy for their cleaning. I did see so so reviews about them on Yelp but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and hire them for a clean. Firstly my time for arrival was between 8-5 I accepted this since I only booked them two days before I wanted it done. I waited until around three o'clock and they still had not arrived. I telephoned and was told they would arrive between 4 and 4:30. At 5:20 one of the team of two finally arrived. She started cleaning and told me that they other team member would arrive shortly. At about 7:00 she still had not arrived. I telephoned again and the person on the phone was shocked to hear that they still hadnt arrived. She then tried to contact the other team member for about half an hour. I was called back and offered the cleaning at half price and that both of them would return the next morning to finish. One person cleaning my house she would have been there until 11pm. They did arrive exactly on time the next day, the second team member did apolgize to me for not showing up, they finished there work in a timely manner, but once they left there were problems with some parts of the clean, dusting not done properly and some of the floors not as clean as they should be. I gave them those comments on feedback through email they sent out to rate their service. I gave them a mid range rating, and offered a few comments to what wasn't done right. I was offered a re clean at my conveince. i responded that I would contact them once I had a date in In mind for the re clean and that I didn't want the same team to do it. Never heard back. Today when booking my re clean was told that I had to do it within a week of the original clean. Was never told this. Then she followed up with another note offering me a fifty dollar credit for my troubles. Needless to say I told her that was unacceptable to me and only a re clean would be satisfactory. I also suggested that I would be offering up reviews on my social media accounts and would be reporting them to the better business bureau. I have left it there for now. In some ways they have tried hard to repair damage done but seem to fall short of the mark. read more
