The only reason I am reviewing this branch is that there are 2 seperate Macy's in the same mall. One is all for women, and the other is for men and home furnishings. First, I got a small bag and it was a hard to hold so I asked for a bigger one. An employee said that the bag I had I keep or I can switch it. When she took the contents out of small bag and put them in the bigger one I thought what was the use to keep such a small bag. Second, I asked that I wanted to return a gel that I accidentally ordered online but instead I wanted the moisturizer lotion. Ruby's rockin it, in the shoe dept. I have always got the best customer service at this Macy's. She patiently assisted me in getting all the shoes I wanted to try on with a friendly attitude and smile. I also bought Make-up at Mac and the sales associates listened to exactly what I'm looking for and paired the perfect lip gloss for my pout. I wanted industrial strength Vegas smear proof eyeliner and she gathered my must haves for my trip and I was a happy camper. There's a side make up station south of the Mac area, and a very lovely girl, I didn't get her name unfortunately. She expertly helped me pick out a Tarte foundation that was perfectly suited for my tone and hydrating that softens the fine lines. This is your average Macy's, but what really stands out here is the customer service. We were about to pay for 2 dress shirts that were already on sale, but Angel, the cashier at the men's department, told us if we paid now and picked up next week for the pre-sale to friends and family sale, we could save an additional $17. Thanks for the heads up! We did so, but when we came back the following week, the shirts had an even steeper sale. Angel was super nice to give us a price readjustment for more savings. The gift card we were paying with had a slight delay from an earlier transaction from another cashier in the store. But Angel was extremely patient and had the problem fixed in a few minutes. read more

This review is particularly for the Women's Lingerie Department. I was there around 4:30 looking around. I was looking for the saleswoman and she was busy talking to a colleague of hers. I walked over to the counter to ask her something and she answered my question. I was still looking through the racks and had a question so my Hubby asked her where my size is located? She answered, you have to look through everything from the counter still. What are they there for? Such a lack of customer service. There are too many retailers out there I really hope that someone does something about this. read more

This Macy's has been my quick go to for the past fifteen years, easily. Now i must say it has always been my least favorite Macy's to shop at UNTIL yesterday. I received THE BEST costumer service, topping fashion island, South coast plaza and nearly as good as rodeo drive itself. Adrianna, Marisol and Veronica, the three ladies working the fragrance counter for men. Friendly greeting, great fragrance recommendation. One gift wrapped, while the other made additional product recommendation. The third bagging, providing samples and getting me all ready to go in a timely fashion. The pinnacle of a wonderful shopping experience is always the customer service, these lovely ladies hit the mark. The worst customer service continues at this Macys and, from the looks of it, won't change. They have rude sales personnel in the infant section. They had a car seat on display but it's not stocked. I thought the Macy's at Santa Anita was atrocious. Giving this store 1 star is really too much. Clothes are tangled and thrown all over. Shoes I can't even describe the mess. The walking aisles are narrow and perfume displays are placed right in the middle of the path so you can barely move even when it is not crowded! The only customer service provided was at the makeup counter and I was not even approaching the counter to buy makeup! Just don't waste your time here. 1 Star read more

Then I guess maybe the manager was called over by a worker the manager told the guy we don't carry this watch but referred him to another place to get it service and gave him a coupon.. When we arrived at the store we found out only 1 out of the 5 items we purchased was available for pickup, and it just so happens the item was a free gift from the purchase. This was a complete waste the customer's time. Macy's processing should have spent the extra second to look at the order to make sure the order was complete before sending out the notification. My wife loves shopping at Macy's and I like it every so often. The prices are not cheap but they have a great selection of men's clothing and children's clothing. If I can not find anything good at Children's Place or Crazy 8, I come here and always get good deals for my son. For myself I usually get my Levi's here as well as button up shirts because of there wide variety. My wife usually buys shoes here. Today I visited the Lancôme counter to get matched with a foundation, concealer, and powder. I had heard and read so many reviews about their 24hr wear foundation I just had to have it! My daughter and I were helped by a very unpleasant pregnant woman. She explained to us that she was 7 months pregnant, exhausted, and didn't want to be there. She went on to explain that Lancôme was the worst counter to work at because "The girls at night never wash their brushes" and she's forced to use dirty brushes. When I looked down at the brushes she was using on my face they were dirty!!! Being an esthetician and a manager I can't even begin to explain how unsanitary and disgusting this is! This is against state board regulations to start. I had to demand that she use clean brushes but she didn't have any, she only had a sponge. Disgusted and horrified I went to another counter (Estee Lauder) and had the sweet lady at the counter wipe that dirty makeup off my face. I ended up buying everything I needed from Estee Lauder and am so far satisfied with their Double Wear. This was by far my worst customer experience ever. I can't believe Macy's hires people like this. I'm calling state board first thing tomorrow morning. read more

Went to the handbag department around 11am. There was one person covering the department. All the purses are locked up and the salesperson has to go in the back to get your purse. There were a total of 4 customers who all knew what we wanted but the lady had to take us one at a time, go over to the area of purse jail, unlock the purse for customers inspection, lock back the purse, go in the back find the purse, go to the register and ring up the sale. ONE person. No one else was allowed to help. This I know was not the salespersons fault as she was merely following the process I suppose but frankly the process is stupid. Me and my spouse had a very humiliating experience at this mall! We are an LGBTQ couple, as we were about to try in some clothes in the dressing room, the attendant at that time, her name is Maria, shouted at us at the top of her voice! She said "you guys can't go in there!!!". We were so shocked, and we stopped abruptly and we saw that a lot of other customers were staring at us! I asked her why we can't go inside, when she finally took a good luck at my spouse, who is clearly a female, she said "ok you can go on, whatever!" I then asked her again why did she shouted at us and why we can't go inside the dressing room to try the clothes. Another lady said, because it's only for females! And Maria was nodding her head. I told them to look closely at my spouse and tell me if she is a male. For obvious reasons, both of them has gone quiet. I then asked Maria again if we can now go inside the dressing room, she again said "whatever!" When we were done trying on the clothes and finally got our pick, we went out of the said dressing room. On our way out, we saw Maria, looking at my spouse angrily. I approached her and asked her why she is looking at my spouse that way. She said "nothing". I asked her if she should be apologizing at us for humiliating us a while ago. She said " yeah, whatever, I apologize. I didn't know that she (my spouse) is a female". I told her I understand, but she should have approached us quietly or discreetly to tell us or to check if my spouse is a female or not. She shouldn't have shouted at us for everybody to hear. She just keeps on saying that she didn't know and lots of whatevers and snickering. This is the 1st time that we have encountered this kind of treatment at any public place, ever! I strongly feel that we were discriminated and humiliated simply because of what we are, and that is being an LGBTQ couple! Note: I never raised my voice at her at any given time while I was talking at her. While she on the other hand was on edge and rolling her eyes at us. read more

The cashier at the customer's service counter in the evening wear section was very rude and slow. It took her forever just to return the the item the lady had in front of me. When it was finally my turn to pay for my purchases, she was snubbish and she overcharged me for a sweater. When I told her this she rolled her eyes and asked me where I got it from. Didn't seem like she wanted to get a price check. Luckily, there was a worker nearby to confirm that the price I gave her was correct. She needed my ID in order for me to use my credit card, after she was done checking my ID, she threw the card back at me. It was obvious that she did not want to be there, with so many unemployed people, she should just quit and let someone that really want to work serve these holiday shoppers. I am impressed with Cole from the suits department! My mother was amazed by the attention Cole gave her. Extremely friendly, he was very patient with her many questions and needs. Despite the fact that he isn't fluent in Spanish, he did everything he could to translate information on his phone to communicate effectively with my mom instead of pushing her away to any other random Spanish-speaking sales rep. He showed genuine passion for serving others and he effectively managed to order items that were not in stock for her. I wish all sales people would show as much enthusiasm as Cole. I have had many great sales reps at Macy's, but Cole's excellent service far exceeded our expectations!! I went in this morning looking for a specific ring that was on sale. First off I loved how organized it was at this location that you have to sign in and wait your turn. I waited patiently for a few minutes and an awesome sales lady helped me out. They unfortunately didn't have my size but she offered to check other locations and put it on hold for me. She took down my name and number saying it would be at this location. Ten minutes later I get a call that the ring I wanted wasn't available at that location so I settled with gold that was to be picked up later. Order some items online to be picked up here at the West Covina Macy's one I got the email that they were ready to be picked up, I was not going to be able to pick them up so I called the 800 Macy's and ask customer service if I can add someone else to pick up the merchandise and they said yes and they transferred me to the stores online pick up department. I spoke to a sales rep and she said I could not change anything because the merchandise was already there, I asked her to let me speak to her manager, I spoke to Jill the store manager and she told me that she could not make any changes. I told her that I had spoken to Macy's and they said it could be done and they were the ones that transferred me to the store. She said sorry I cant do it, so I told her I was not happy with that and I was going to close my Macy's account, she said im sorry go ahead. So I did close my account with them.
