Maggie was very sweet and helpful. I like how she made it her mission to find me exactly what matched my skin for a foundation and listened to my opinion. She gave me a sample that should last me a few days so that I can see if I really like it before buying it. The only negative thing I noticed, is that her coworkers seemed like they couldn't care less about the other customers. One of the workers even walked straight up to two ladies and grabbed her cell phone off of the dock and walked away, never saying a word to the customers. It was pretty sad... So this is for an online experience with Macy's. I placed an order in May and am missing part of my order. I went online to their "live chat," and it says "Live Chat is not available at this time. Call us at 800.945.6229 to speak with a Live Agent." I called that number, entered my order number and it says "a live agent is not available, please go online.." So there is NO way to get ahold of anyone regarding my missing item. Extremely frustrating to spend money, never get the item, and have no way of contacting anyone at this company! read more

The return line is ridiculously long. There are about 20-25 people in line and the single cashier is slow for the last hour. Where is the manager or someone to help her out? I asked another cashier from another department to help and the response I get is she will let manager know. Macy's is no longer s high end store that focuses on customer experience. Feels more like a Ross. Macy's need to hire more people, streamline returning process for more efficiency and train to focus more on customer experience. Sorry Eastridge.... I have to agree with others... This is the most disappointing Macy's ever. Long Short story: I was in a hurry. I went to buy a red purse (don't ask). I was paying with my ATM card.... *****Please note I am black***** She asked ATM or Credit. Because I was in a hurry I said ATM so I wouldn't have to dig through my huge junky purse looking for my ID. Then she asks for my ID!!! What? (I thought if you use ATM then you don't need ID) Maybe she didn't hear me... Cool. I show her my ID. Then she slides my card. The store is so old she has to slide my card at her register because the ATM machine's slider doesn't work... but whatever- not a big deal. I'm thinking maybe that's why she needed to see my ID... the ATM doesn't work... but then she tells me to enter my pin! What? I thought it was one or the other... Pin or ID... never both... Okay whatever. I enter it and she tells me it's wrong... try again. What??!!!!??? Okay fine. So then I go to enter it again and I put in the first number and the second and I feel someone looking at me so I stop... this broad is looking right at the pad while I enter my pin! I stop and look at her. She is so busy memorizing my number she doesn't realize I'm looking at her for almost 10 seconds (that's long if you think about it). Then she says if it's wrong you can go back.... she must want to fight. I tell her it's not wrong... I just don't want you looking while I'm trying to enter my private pin number. She was embarrased but I could tell what she was thinking and it is related to me being black and buying a rather expensive item. I don't wanna be like that so you can jump to your own conclusions. Anyways- end of story. Eastridge Macys is old, their Mac counter is excellent but the customer service not so great. 2 stars because they are reliable for last minute finds on a busy Friday night. read more

Anyways, we came in to utilize a Macy's representative to call another Macy's (Bakersfield) for a product they (Tully) didn't have in stock. She was slouching on her counter, not mobile or helping anybody. I knew it was bad news, and it was. She already had an irritated tone in her voice when we approached her. As she "helped", she used the phrase "I don't know" a lot. She was very unwilling to ask any other representative to make this deal work. We ended up solving the problem ourselves after she gave up on us, we successfully ordered our product. Phew. Talk about a HOT MESS! This Macy's is SO DISORGANIZED! I would say 2/3 times that I go, I would find something that I want to buy but then they can't find the tag or the price so they wouldn't sell it to me! I usually only shop at this location when I either have a return or if they have something on hold for me that I called ahead and asked them to find. It is extremely difficult to shop here. The reason I gave this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because I've had good experiences at the Bare Escentuals counter numerous times. They know their stuff and they always have what I'm looking for. The associates at this counter seem a lot nicer than the others around. I would have to hunt someone down because it seems like they're never around! Overpriced for a horrible selection. It seems like everything is oversized here. It seems to be all L, XL, and XXL. Is this Macy's getting stuff the other Macy's don't want? And customer service is not so great. No smiles, nothing. Cash register clerk looked like she didn't want to be there. Now, I wouldn't want to work all day at Macy's either but at least fake it. She looked really annoyed when I asked her if the sweater was really on sale or if it was placed mistakenly on the on-sale pile. I also asked an employee where the fitting rooms were. I never had any bad experiences shopping here. Until, today when my cousin and I went to pick up her boots that was bring placed on hold. The shoes that was placed on hold was under a different sale associate. The reason we didn't make the purchase from that person was because we wanted to get the price for One Day Sale which is the day after. Upon going in to pick up our shoes, we was well greeted by this one woman (Philipino). We told her that we were not here to shop around. We were just here to pick up our shoes. She immediately changes from being nice 10 to 0 ( I don't give a crap anymore ) Just because.... she knows that she isn't going to make any sales and commissions out of the service that she was going to provide us. This is my usual Macy's branch, unless I bother going to Valley Fair's mall. Macy here actually has really nice employees! I know a couple of girls working here and they are pretty pleasant. Actually, once my mother and I came in with a BUNCH of coupons on a One Day Sale/Door Buster event. One female employee working at the petite clothing section was really nice to take the time to find the cheapest deal for us. Scanning our coupons individually per clothing item. I didn't know her, but I just asked her nicely what she thought what coupon would be better to use. I wasn't expecting for her to do that! Aside from that, I don't really like the shoe section in this Macy's. I find better shoes at the Valley Fair branch. Petite clothing section isn't too bad. read more

HELLA GHETTO!! I don't buy ANYTHING at this Macy's except for MAC makeup - in an emergency... That's about it. Only because, it's the closest MAC store from my house. Other than that, you can have the same Guess jeans displayed on a fixture at Macy's Valley Fair, and the same pair of jeans on a fixture at this Macy's and feel like the quality is ghetto - even if it's the same damn thing! They went against what the return process and instructions were given online, and were unwilling to listen or look at any instructions given to me by Macy's.com. After them denying any service, I called Macy's and a gentleman at corporation was surprised that my return was not accepted in store despite everything looking correct. Well this is my 2nd time to try and purchase something from the clinique counter. This time I got lucky the clinique lady was there yay for me. I asked for my foundation and yes they have it in stock. Well as I proceed to ask her if she can find a powder for me since I didn't know what color that matches my skin she was patience enough to try out several colors. Well when she finally found one that matches Just my luck they didn't have it in stock. So I just proceeded to pay for my foundation and I asked her what macy's had that color and she said wait it's says they have 3 in stock so again she was kind enough to check the back but she came back empty handed. So she said Valley Fair has them or oak ridge has them. Well I give her a plus for trying to find my color. Not more than that, Since the first time I trired to buy something from this store the lady that was covering for the clinique lady didn't have no clue as to what was going on all she did was ring up people. I had waited almost a hour and still no clinique lady wth I ended up going to valley fair. I should of learned my lesson the first time and just go to Valley fair. At least i know what colors I need and I can just call ahead. Also Their so called celler where there sell kitchen stuff is blah. I rather do my shopping at valley fair where their selection is vast. Today me and my two cousins bought some stuffs in this store, we paid every single item we bought for almost $300, we even opened Macy's credit card today. When we left there were about 2 or 3 security guys stopped us at the door then escorted us to a stock room upstair. At first, we were so panic and we still did not figure out what was happing, my little cousin almost cried. i was yelling at them that i did nothing wrong so why i have to follow them. and they said if i did not go and kept yelling they would handcuff me. After checking our bags and the receipts they said sorry because they thought we have stolen something in the store. THEY CAN'T DO LIKE THAT AND SAY SORRY SO EASILY. THIS IS SUCH AN OFFENSE TO US. Bleak, dreary, and poor customer service. I came in yesterday morning around 11AM with my aunt to exchange a pair of shoes. At this hour, it was very dim, staff were still stocking and chatting with each other, and registers were unattended. We identified a staff member, who I will call A, and saw as they spoke quickly with another customer and then left the register. We located A placing stickers on shoe boxes who eventually came over after some standing around. A's hurrying tone and attitude indicated that they clearly didn't want to be bothered as they told us we can get to the new shoe size somewhere behind them, pointing and telling us what the shoe's brand and name is--as if we didn't know that. Of course it wasn't where A indicated so when we returned to the register. Then, A said we can go to Valleyfair who would have two pairs available, we said we'd rather order it and have it shipped. In addition to typing slow, mishearing, correcting, and clarifying, this exchange transaction was made extra long and uncomfortable as A told the people behind us one by one, rather rudely while pointing away, "Returns over at customer service, exchange and purchases only here". Additionally, announcements made over the speakers are jarringly loud. A's attempt to sell my aunt a credit card was awkward as well. My aunt is a current Macy's employee from out of state. A in the shoe department provides extraordinarily poor customer service. Their hurrying is a huge displeasure that makes room for several mistakes. This solidifies why I haven't shopped here for years. read more

I drove across town asked the sales rep she said it's over there if we have it. I asked her could she show me she said ok in a minute. If you've shopped at Macy's over the past 25 years as I have, you've probably noticed how it's changed. I was there recently shortly after it opened in the morning, and the music was very loud. Each section is allowed to have its own music, but all I could hear was one section. I happened to see the manager, Jerome, and explained the problem to him. He was very understanding and suggested a solution that works for me: softer music during the week in the morning/early afternoon when "veteran" shoppers are like to be there, and the possibility of louder music when the demographic changes later in the afternoon. I call that a "win-win." So if you've avoided the store b/c of the music, try it during the morning; you might be pleasantly surprised--at least as long as Jerome is there! read more

The service here is very bad and I will never come back here , this lady named Michelle, who worked at the ESTEE LAUDER place, made me wait 45 minutes just so I could pick up a cream that I had ordered the day previous. Basically, I had told her that I had preordered a cream and I was here to pick it up, she then told me to wait. I waited for 40 minutes max for her to come back. The whole I was waiting, I was getting so mad. This lady was now serving another customer even though I had came to her first. Then when she came back, she did not even apologize to me about taking so long, instead when I told her i didn't want the cream, she gave me a mean look and said, "OKAY!!". That's when I lost it, I asked to talk to the manager, but the manager never came. I left right then and there. I hope this lady gets fired and I did complain about her. Her name was Michelle. I will never ever come back here because of the type of service I got, and I do not recommend anyone else to come here. The employees are so stuck up and mean, they will give you the nastiest looks if you ask for ANYTHING. Please do not ever come to place.
