When they have sales they have great sales! It is hard to find a sales person at times to actually make the payments for those deals. The coupons are rather confusing at times and you have to find a cashier at times that knows how to work the system to get discounts on certain purchase. Don't get me started on star rewards vs. points. If you return something you used star rewards they actually give you less actual cash back. I try to avoid this place at all cost as the associates are rude and the store is usually a disaster. read more

Macy's used to be the gold standard. I was shocked today at the absolute disregard for service in the shoe department. One woman sitting in a chair on her phone not engaging anyone on the floor. When asked for assistance, she said she only works in the sneaker department. Go around the corner and the register is packed with customers and not enough staff to assist. I honestly don't blame the staff but the management. They are all behind the counter vs anyone on the floor assisting with getting sizes and shoes. So the expectation is you wait in line at the counter hand them the shoes your looking to try on and they will see if they are in stock and retrieve. All the while trying to check out customers. The area is a disaster and they are just trying to keep up. Mind you this is 2pm on a Thursday, and you have to figure out their method on your own. Tried on two shoes and left. Took my business elsewhere. read more

I"m loving the new Brasil collection that Macy's has to offer. This colorful & bright theme translates into shoes, clothing, jewelry and makeup. It's something different for Macy's by embracing such bold and attention commanding colors. If you want to buy something but you're turned off by the price, just wait it ot because everything usually gets deeply discounted. I brought a Michael Kors bag in May for $328...that same bag is now on sale for $200. Bah humbug. read more

This is the Macy's at the Mall @ Rockingham Park. This used to be Filene's which I miss and preferred. I don't honestly shop here much, but do go in a few times a year to browse or to look and see what is on sale. The service has always been friendly and helpful. The men's selections I feel is lacking and not that much diverse in offered styles. Housewares is also lacking. Both Filense and Jordon March had beautiful Persian carpets. Not found here. They do have some nice things. I always can find a nice dress shirt, dress pants and other casual ware. read more

I attempted a simple return today with receipt and tags attached.... I'm a frequent shopper and have been repeatedly disappointed with the daytime employees at the new pickup/returns desk. Today only one person in the line in front of me and two customer service employees, one talking 20 minutes with a customer and the other helps the person in front of me, then looks to her coworker and says "Ok, I'm going to the INC department" looks at me and says "Sorry!" Needless to say I was very unhappy and went to find her in the INC department to tell her how rude I thought she was and she was nowhere to be found!! If you have to do a return or pickup I recommend the guys on at night, they are amazing, speedy, happy, helpful and work hard!! read more

Macy's is always a gamble, but this one is actual hell on earth. I came here on Black Friday, which you might say was asking for it. Fewer than half of the registers were open, and those that were open had only one person working at them. Did they forget to mark their calendar?! There's no excuse for being so blatantly understaffed. It's also annoying that they only have the machines to take off security tags at some registers. I ended up having to take my underwear purchase into the kids section, which was a little awkward. It would be one thing if Macy's carried items that I couldn't find anywhere else, but I'd much rather purchase the same stuff from Amazon, Nordstrom, Lord and Taylor, or even Sears for housewares. It's the worst company ever. They fraud to and changer me $305 . I bought 3 orders online for $217 . I paid the amount on full .After a year I cot a call from the collection company that I have to pay 305 for Macy's. I called the customer service they said that I paid the money 2 days after the due date . They changed me $27 and didn't send me any pill . After a whole year they changed me $305 I will never buy any thing at this company and I don't recommend anybody to buy anything from them. read more

I'd like to give Macy's 1 star, but I am in possession of a $25 coupon and I can't decide if I want to totally sell out and use it. So the two stars I'm giving them is really one star plus one star I take away from myself for considering a purchase there. I'm hunting for some perfumes, and I recently visited this place to get some samples. Perfume is not cheap. Well, some of it is, but I'm searching for some perfumes I'll love, not in the cheap category. When I spritz myself I want to be embraced and transported and indulged. I'm willing to pony up some cash for that experience. I wanted to get a sample of Chanel's Allure and a few others. When I asked for a tester for Dolce and Gabanna's Light Blue, a perfume they had on display, the salesclerk, who was putting something away under the counter didn't even look at me and walked away saying "We don't have a tester for that." Fine. See, this yelping is handy...I just talked myself out of using the coupon. :) And took back my star, too. read more

I wish I knew this man's name to compliment him. He works in the men's fragrance department. He has a nose piercing, shaved head, and tattoos. Very personable, and handled the Xmas crowd better than anyone. I had two kids with me and needed a gift for their dad quickly. He made it happen. It helped that we had the same taste in fragrance. Was there to purchase men's cologne on Saturday and the service was inexcusable!! I stood around for at least 5 min before asking for help and then no one knew the price of anything and there were no paper swatches anywhere to spray cologne on to smell. One salesperson said that she only knew the price of one certain brand and nothing else! People, get your act together!! It was a Saturday and I was prepared to buy several items, but how could I from CLUELESS sales associates who didn't even know prices??? This review is strictly for their make up dept. I am a make up junkie! I am always looking to try the latest product :) And a lot of their staff is really lacking. I was at the Laura Mercier counter the other day and no one was there (busy Fri. afternoon). I walked over to the Bare Escentuals counter and I was told by the girl working there that the MUA for the brand is currently on lunch and may be back in a half hour or so. She was actually trying to be nice and told me that if I knew EXACTLY what I wanted she could get it for me. I told her I had some questions on the new foundation that just came out, and she replied honestly that she couldn't help me with that. Then went on so say that she wouldn't even be able to find the foundation, even though she just previously stated that she COULD get me the product if I knew what I wanted. And by the way, the foundation was out in plain freaking view! Regardless, I had questions anyways so I was not going to purchase. The only reason I was even at Macy's instead of Sephora was because of a gift card. I then walked over to another section where women were congregating/chatting it up. And I asked if any of those ladies could help me, NOPE, everyone is trained for their own counter. Please take tips from Nordstrom and educate your staff on other brands so they can at least attempt to help out a potential new customer. I then had a MUA from Chanel tell me (not to steer me away from Macys) that I should try Sephora because they carry a line called Makeup Forever and they have some of the best foundations and that they also carry Laura Mercier as well. And that their entire staff is well versed/has knowledge of all their products. HA HA HA HA I F*cking know that! Sephora is my B*tch! I am only hear because of a freaking gift card. I didn't say any of those things of course, just nodded politely and said thank you for your help. Doesn't that say a little something about what Macy's is doing wrong, yes I think so. I will just say also, it is nice that MUA are supposed to be well trained in the particular makeup/skincare line that they represent. I do understand that, but I also find it very important to be relatively aware of other brands too. So to Sephora I went, HAPPILY! Where I got excellent service as always. If you are looking for groomsmen suits, go see Eileen in the men's suit department at Macys in Salem. Not only did she help us find the perfect three piece wedding suits, shoes and shirt at a great price, she was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable throughout. After we left the store, I called Macys with a question and Eileen called me back (even though her shift had already ended) just to make sure I had the answer that day. She really went above and beyond and in all my years of shoppig at big chain retailers like Macys, I've never received such amazing customer service. She really made buying groomsmen suits a fantastic experience and anyone looking for wedding suits (or any suit) should really go see Eileen!! read more

I typically have good luck in Macy's, but recently I've come across a shopping angel. About a month ago I was shopping for shoes for a wedding, something with a heel but not too crazy as I'm 5'10. I always have a hard time finding shoes that don't kill my feet since I'm a size 10-11, and finding heels at all in that size is near impossible. Cathy seemed to be working alone that night with a dozen people waiting in line. She was so unbelievably thorough in helping me, I almost wanted to cry. I work in retail and it's so hard to find other retail people that treat people kindly. As busy as she was, she went to the ends of the earth to help me and because of her I was able to find THREE very comfortable and stylish heels, exactly what I was looking for. I went in again looking for a different type of shoe and had no luck. I went back today and by miracle Cathy was there again. She recognized and again, bent backwards to help me despite the crowds. I left with an awesome pair of ankle boots and one ordered. To whom it may concern: Cathy needs a raise. Whenever I go in I'm crossing my fingers that she's there. She always has a smile on her face and is so personable. You cannot afford to lose her, she is a stellar employee there. She needs some kind of promotion. Cathy, if you see this, I can't thank you enough and I will definitely be back - you are a shoe goddess! read more

Normally I wouldn't review a department store - it's chaos, you know that going in. But this experience annoyed me so much that I just have to share. I went in on Saturday, 1/9/2016. I was in the perfume department, with what would have been a $100+ transaction in mind. Usually when I walk through here I can't get out fast enough - sample after sample being thrown in my direction by over eager sales associates. That day, they couldn't be bothered. I located the perfume I wanted to buy, and patiently waited about five minutes for someone to come help me. There was a couple standing to my left, so I assumed the associate at that counter was helping them. Not so. They ended up leaving, and I circled around trying to find someone to help. There were two associates at the next counter over having a conversation. I looked over and smiled, to maybe drop a small hint that I was waiting to be helped, and they looked away and went back to their workplace gossip. I gave them a few more minutes to finish up, decided to approach them, and they both walked away. Needless to say, I was pissed. I ended up finding what I wanted at a perfume store in the mall (which I had no idea was even there), and it was $20.00 cheaper than Macy's and had three extra items with it. So a big eff you to Macy's. I won't be back. read more

Doesn't stink...they treated me so bad....i was looking for a perfume not sure of the name, waited for someone to help me. Took forever!! They had no clue. So I was browsing around and they were talking about me saying that "I was drunk or high" I don't do either, I have a blood disorder TTP, so it affect my nervous system plus it does a lot more..I approach them while they were laughing , explained that I'm sick...and if u want to talk about someone bake sure they are not around!! This review is for my wife; she attempted to return an Izod sweatshirt on 12/27/2016 my son received for the holidays, it was to small. She was immediately and rudely dismissed by the associate at the counter who stated that the Rockingham location did not sell that brand, and that she needed to return it to the Nashua location. My wife had the gift receipt, and yes it was originally bought at the Nashua location. What a waste of time and disregard for Macy's customer service and return policies, she would have taken a store credit, but wasn't even offered one. My Mom originally bought the shirt for my son and supplied the gift receipt in case it didn't fit. I will be informing her of the total disregard in service as she also bought gifts from Macy's for family members living well outside our region. Now Macy's most likely will loose a whole extended family of customers. Kohl's sells the same brands and doesn't restrict returns to location. This Macy's is ruining business for all locations by taking away any advantage of shopping brick and mortar locations by refusing to honor the customer service they promise in their own corporate policy. read more

I wish I could give this store zero stars only because of the people that work here. Twice recently I have been here the employees unbelievably straight out RUDE! they don't even try to hide it. I own my own business and would fire them on the spot if I heard what comes out of their mouth, this last time I scanned 3 items from the clearance rack marked down by A LOT (great deals) and two items with the same color sticker were even more reduced than the last tag, I scanned the last one and it marked the original price, so I go to the cashier and have her ring me up and it again rang up original price. I told her the sticker which reads correct with the brand and everything was discounted, but I was just curious to see if it would mark down more once scanned because the other two items did with the same exact color sticker and she goes you are going to complain about the price it's a great deal WHENNNN DID I COMPLAIN. I was simply asking her if that color sticker always gets reduced more. I didn't want more of a discount I was asking a damn question these women think they're hot shit you work at Macy's folding clothes get off your invisible high horse idiot. read more
