This is directed to JC Penney through Synchrony Bank. First of all what is good customer service? It's when you call a company looking for an answer to an issue you have with the product or service and after you speak with someone and hang up the phone you should be saying to yourself "I got my answer and that company made it easy for me to get my answer and I feel better now than when I started calling them." The company doesn't need to promise you anything, just give you an answer or you can should be able to speak with a person who is handling your issue. It shouldn't be this hard when a dedicated, long time customer calls and tries to speak with someone regarding a $150.00 check that I sent to pay my bill and they can not find the payment. I triple checked the account # and confirmed the correct address that the bill went to. I have a confirmation the payment went through with my bank on June 7th. That is all I wanted to do when I called 800-542-0800 (4 times since June 7, 2024) is speak to someone regarding what we an do about the missing payment. Each time I called they told me that there is a process they must follow to investigate this. They first told me to wait ten days to make sure the payment went through. I waited and called back and asked to speak with someone regarding the status of it. They said they don' have status and it is being investigated. It is now 1 month and 2 days since the payment has gone through and I called again to find out the status or speak with someone. They said I need to wait 2 months because that is how long an investigation takes. I again asked if I can speak to the person handling this investigation or can they call me back because I have 62.00 left to pay and if they can't find the first payment then I can't pay another one. They said they can't do that because it's being investigated and all they can do is note what I say and how many times I have called. In this case why even have a Customer Service Department. An answering machine can do what their CS reps do. I am so disappointed in this company, This Customer Service is unacceptable. read more

I'm not nor ever will be a shopper. I'm not into going from store to store, trying on clothes, etc. So, Ive been on a roll lately buying items online with free in store pickup. It has to be be one of the easiest way to shop ever.... I've used a combo of coupons & rebates for some great deals on quality items. Some I've purchased for less than I would shopping on the store vs online. I'll be honest that everything I've purchased has been basic wardrobe type garments where fit isn't all it. Each time I've entered the store, employees have been friendly and welcoming. The ones who have waited on me for my amazing pick ups have all been great. The store itself in my eyes could use some updates. It's looking tired. But I'll keep doing what I'm doing. This is a great way to shop! read more

Huge 2 floor Penny's. Mall anchor tenant. Has all the Ho-hum basic necessities. Men's clothing is BORING, again unless you like the basic underwear, jean, and dress shirts. This store is for good if you need something basic. Good customer service, except during the mad rushed Christmas holidays. I do tend to favor the housewares dept. Big selection and good quality. Sheets, towels, area scatter rugs, drapes. You get the picture. read more

My wife and I went to JC Penny to have both of us our eye exams done. The doctor was ok, but the manager was so rude we was sitting with her going over the options, prices etc. We was telling her that the prices was very high compare to others special when the store had a 60% of on glasses. As i was sitting down talking with my wife about making a decision, the manager get up and said you wanna pay for wife exam now, i was like what!!! we are not done. I just get up paid and left the store. Sandra was must nicer. I'm telling everyone don't go there services, and prices are the worst. How many times am I going to let a salon employee lure me in with a tale of a huge sale only to be done wrong? Well, however many times it's happened in the past, this is the last one. I should have known better. I called to check the price on a specific item only to be told they were having a huge doorbuster sale on that item starting at 1PM on Friday. I held off and arrived promptly at 1 ... to find out that the sale starts at 3PM. Oh, and it specifically doesn't include the one item I want to buy. Even though I was very specific with the size and brand. The manager was summoned by an employee who thought she could override the time problem. No, I was told by the manager. The item you want isn't even included in the sale. She proceeded to "explain" to me as if I were a 6 year old. She never even once apologized for the fact that I drove 30 minutes out of my way to her salon because one of her employees gave me completely wrong information. I recently went into JC Penney looking for some reasonably priced plus sized clothing. I was stunned to walk in and see what they have done to the place. I felt like I had walked into a catalog where all the pages had been ripped out and put back together randomly. On the first floor there's "pods" of kitchen stuff, all divided by brand, and it just keeps sprawling across the whole level of the first floor. I was in the store over ten minutes before I saw a single employee. My biggest problem was there wasn't a single sign or store map anywhere in sight. This problem was exacerbated by a complete lack of store staff. I wandered around looking at the sizes of clothes hanging until I found the plus size section hiding in a corner. Nothing was signed well, the St John's Bay section was overrun with Liz Claiborne. Clothing racks were blocking aisles and the few employees were swamped at a register station. I couldn't find anything worth the price on the tag. I won't be back. read more

Now I know why they are closing stores. Used to have good quality clothing etc. Now its worse than walmart...........And the pricing? Then never anyone to check u out when u do buy. You have to walk around and find a register with a human actually there. Looking to me like the line is coming from some third world country where no one can sew. read more

I just bought my first refrigerator. I researched on line and found exactly what I thought I wanted and the best price, interestingly, was at Penney's. I know; I was also surprised. But when I got there, I found that I liked another one better -- better lights, better options. But that one was out of stock, luckily for us. Because then we found the one refrigerator that had all the options that we wanted AND was small enough to fit. If it weren't for Michael, the awesome salesman, we would be SOL. He worked with us and gave us a great deal, and he was a cool guy. Thanks, Michael! read more

Ok if you go to a store and find something you like. But NEVER order on line -,pay for shipping to you and return shipping. I just paid $15 to return curtains that cost $54?- can't say I got my "Penney's worth!" I'm cutting up my card as soon as bill in paid . Plus they are more expensive than Amazon - just ordered coffee maker for $20 less with no $4.95?charge for an oversized box. I don't live near enough to a store to care about going. read more

Worst customer service experience of my life. If you need photos done, especially ones that really mean a lot to you, do not go here. Go anyone on the entire planet but here. My iPhone takes better pictures. Not worth saving a little money at all. The girl taking our photos was rude and rushed us the whole time. I have been waiting a long time to be able to take family photos, and she just took photos of our daughter and said we were out of time and refused to take any family photos. I was devastated. She refused even though that was the reason we were there! No one should be allowed to treat customers like that, I sincerely hope someone notices what an awful person they have working there. I'm sure I'm not the first person to have this experience. I just hope I saved at least one person from wasting their time and money. read more
