Coming here was just what I needed to continue the positive energy. Customers enter via two door options which create a welcoming feel. The ladies in front, behind and in between Style Home & C. are Maryanne(?) and her daughter. This shop instantly feels like it has the perfect balance of raw, edgy coolness and cozy comfort. Style H & C. also combines the rugged charm of exposed brick and weathered wood+metal accents. My two sweaters had wonderful price tags and can't wait for the cold weather in NY. There's nothing cluttered here and the minimalist, yet sleek style of this shop mirrors the look of the clothes offering traditional timeless fashion pieces with a twist, home decor and accessories mixed in. These ladies know what they got and that's an industrial style shop filled with charm, rugged wood, exposed brick walls- minus the hard hat.

It was clear they were friends, and their friendly warm banter was like a breath of fresh air in the ladies' retail world. That definitely makes one want to buy something! I made note that this store has some of my faves: Brighton, Hobo, and lots of classic clothing along with fun eclectic fashion items as well. We chatted and they gave me such a great sense of wanting to return, about a month later, I brought an out-of-state visiting friend there. The vibe was entirely different. A young-ish tall woman was the only salesperson on duty. She barely greeted us when we entered, paced around the floor with a pissed-off bored look on her face, fiddled with some stuff behind the counter, paced around impatiently some more, and did a stellar job of vibing us right out the door. There were a few other shoppers in the store and I noted they didn't stay long either. Totally baffling because my friend and I are your target demographic. We very likely would have done some serious shopping. Congrats on hiring someone who will make sure your store is empty, and safe from all those pesky and bothersome shoppers! Was it an ageism issue? Was she just having an off day? Who knows; who cares. We were made to feel so uncomfortable, I have walked by there numerous times and contemplated going in, but then thought, nahhhh, not worth the psychological beat-down (yes, that young saleswoman's attitude was THAT bad). Pity, because the other sales ladies were awesome, and I am in need of some new Hobo and Brighton items.

Special shout out to Char. Especially grateful to Char & staff for making me feel special. For…read moreguiding me to clothing pieces that actually fit & r age appropriate. The store is large, bright and cheerful, clean, well stocked and organized. Same owner as the store by Saturday Market but a much larger footprint and space to actually see everything and shop comfortably. I love long flowing skirts and they have dozens in gauze or cotton, solids and prints like ikat and paisley. Wide leg, billowy pants in an array of patterns and pant lengths are in abundance. Plus tanks, maxi dresses, shawls, ponchos, hats and scarves. The clothing for men is in similar prints and patterns. Button up shirts, pullovers and wide cotton pants. My fave is their long sleeve cotton shirts made in Tiabet with graphic prints of The Tree of Life, sea turtles, elephants, the sun.p, etc. The more you wash them, the softer they get; they are soooocomfortable! I wear them going to and from the gym or just running errands. People always stop me and compliment them. Today I bought a charcoal gray with a graphic print of two entwined elephants. Like the other Kathmandu stores, there are lots of Hindu goddess statues, meditation bowls, tapestries, ponchos, shawls, beaded bracelets, an entire shelf along the wall stocked with incense, some silver jewelry and lots of pillows. I'm happy they moved into Lloyd Center since I workout just across the street. Plus it's a much better layout than the NW store.
