(#1) As a result, I've rarely met TJ I didn't like, which includes this location next to Willamette Center. At one point TJ Maxx was in downtown Salem, but now this is the only one left in the city. Like many of the businesses in the same lot, it looks and feels new. However, unlike those businesses, TJ Maxx actually has a steady flow of people going in and out. There's no doubt, it's a popular store. (#2) Parking isn't an issue with so many open spaces and it's an easy place to be. Of the few times I've been, I feel this TJ's was solid inventory wise. I found a good amount of clothing for men's and was able to find a gift or two in the kitchen + home decor areas. I also scored a charger for my rental car and almost bit on some of their limited Oregon Ducks gear. No dice on the shoes (#3) but they do have some sizes in the 14-15 range. Service overall seems okay. They're good about letting folks use the restrooms (which were super clean) and keeping the changing rooms tidy. The cashiers are strangely a little slow and sometimes line form as a result. Given how often I'm in Salem, I'm certain I'll be back again. __________ (#1) Ok, not really. There wasn't much sale offers on most of the products, prices were relatively higher. But the store had a small clearance section with a variety of items at a cheaper price. Among the collections Star Wars, Toy Story, Marvel and Frozen had lots of products. The staff member were friendly, informing us about different feature of the store. My daughter picked a beach towel with Stitch. The checkout was quick and easy. Overall it was a nice store, but I'd have liked to see more variety of Disney character products in the store with cheaper prices, since it was an outlet store.

I came in to make a purchase and thought I found some great pieces but it took over 45min to ring up the person in front of me with only 2 people in the store and 2 employees. When the second employee started to ring me up she kept stopping to help the first. Ultimately I ran out of time after over an hour, I never anticipated it taking so long and it's no exaggeration. Even the first customer kept telling them no when they couldn't figure it out because she wanted to leave too. I asked that the employee put the items on hold and I'd be back. She had my name from waiting to purchase with my card and yet when I came back not only had everything been put back but the prices had changed and half of the items I had selected had been sold. Suddenly I was paying 3x the amount I would have, for fewer items overall. I honestly get better service online and yet they've lost my business.

We let them know that the front door has posted signs saying that it is expected that all customers wear masks for the safety of employees and fellow customers. Her response was corporate has instructed them not intervene or push the issue as they don't want to lose customers. I spent hundreds of dollars in that single visit so what if I chose to leave due to people not wearing masks? It seems like a double edged policy. By not choosing one side, you may alienate the other. Beyond this cash grab policy, it is against Oregon law. Also, that sign says "we care about our customers" but they obviously don't care as much as whoever may bring the next sale. Everyone offers specific times where the more vulnerable can shop so I don't know why they choose not to enforce the law. They have people at the front of every store but not one thing was said to the people who chose to enter without a mask. I hope they fix this very strange policy to have in the times of COVID as I would like to come back to shopping here. Their deals are good but not enough to risk mine or my families life.

Neither of the journeys stores in Salem had my size, so I was a little sad, but Bellah took care of it. She ordered my size, and even gave me 15% off (which is a lot considering the shoes were $140). She was swift, knowledgeable, and funny. She made my brief journeys experience a nice one. I know the store is geared toward teeny boppers, but they might be more successful if they turn the volume down just a touch and stop pressuring people to buy things. Just my opinion.
