This location has been around for years and just had an exterior updating. Looks good. I'm so very happy the store is still available. The prices are good for the value of items. There's a Starbucks & Mac within this location. The size is typical department store size which is great. It's organized & clean. Employees are helpful and friendly. Macys is Macy's. One of the few larger chains that have stayed open through the years. The items are always quality, and the pricing, while higher than your Target or Walmart, is always pretty top-notch. I can keep their clothing pieces for years. Service at shoe, intimates, and clothing departments always seems disinterested, but the fragrance and jewelry departments (maybe they work on commission) are almost always friend and helpful. This is my go-to for a last-minute, fancy night out clothing choice or good footwear or shapewear. Parking is always available and this location is conveniently located in the Roosevelt Mall close to other stores and food choices. read more

Legendary store serving customers for decades. Been going to this store (and past tenants) since I was aware. Place is always cleaned, well stocked. Going here is a trip down memory lane of Xmases past, of shopping with people no longer with me. I think I shopped here at sometime during the Xmas season near 40 years. Only downside is that they need more employees because making a purchase later in the day shouldn't be a big hassle. And to go really retro I use to get all my front row tickets at their ticketmaster location upstairs that no one knew about. read more

I never really had a problem here at the Cottman Avenue Macys ; sometimes the shoe dept is a bit overwhelmed but the dress section was where I have taken my daughter for every dance for every formal setting ( outside of a wedding where I took her to bridal specific shop ) otherwise this Macys has always been so good also at Christmas my nephew wanted a Lego set it was over 80.00 sometimes even more and I found it online and picked it up at this Macys 40.00 I still can't believe how much the price difference was - don't hesitate to use this Macys it's a great store and there are so many closing - it would be a shame if this location did too love Cottman ave location. Rude Customer Service. Men's Department. A sales associate (male) in the Men's Department was condescending towards me. I requested a price check for a slipper, and his delivery of words was tart and off-putting. Perhaps this was his defense mechanism after encountering haggling customers? Or his implicit bias towards POC women? I don't want to speculate, but I can confirm that I did not attempt to haggle and was friendly in my request. I have had and nothing but good experiences at this Macy's located just a turn off Roosevelt Blvd. It's definitely super tiny compared to other Macy's, but much easier for a quick "in & out" than the location closest to me in the city on Market. I always find what I'm looking for in a pinch and, and even things I'm not which is usually shoes. I happen to think their women's sneak selection is pretty great. They always have the latest style New Balance and Adidas! I guess with this smaller store it would really depend on if you're looking to go on a shopping spree and have a large variety of choices or to just pick up something you need which is usually the case with me here. I ALWAYS call in advance to make sure they have what I'm looking before making the trek, and I would say that's a pretty smart idea here. I enter on Cottman Ave and there the jewelry, perfume, makeup, bags and shoes are the departments right in front of you which are really the only ones I shop at this location. Oh, and there's a sweet little section near the bags that has funky youthful gift items and party supplies. I always find sweet little treats for the girls here. MAC, Anastasia, Philosophy, and Urban Decay are what I come here for and I'm happy with the selections and customer service I have received recently. read more

Though I have not been in Macy's for years, my Mom had a wonderful partner the last 20 years of her life and he loved to buy her beautiful things from Macy's. He really had never bought jewelry for his past partners, but I think when I once hinted at the fact that my Mom loved jewelry he heard me loud and clear..ha..and he did an excellent job! I helped him the first few times, but after that, each and every piece he picked out on his own...sadly, they have both passed away, but they truly had a wonderful 20 years and I am grateful for him...and Macy's. Don't buy a bed from them Macy's and their warranty service is full of CRAP!!! when you call Macy's to try to get information about you order everyone you talk to will have no idea of what your talking about. I rarely shop at Macy's although I've been a member since the merger with A&S. This was the smallest store I've ever seen. The employees eye'd me from head to two like I was a common criminal. My clothing was clean and pressed and my hair was neat. I had no idea I fit the description of a common criminal. I assume they're familiar with the regular shoppers and passed judgment that I may be there to steal, which is unprofessional and ignorant. I was looking for a food processor and couldn't locate anyone on the floor. After thirty minutes, I went to the cashier and asked him to help me. After he completed a sale, he directed me to two processors. I was shocked that a fortune 100 company has only two brands of processors. lol My options were few so I purchased the better model. He was professional and courteous. On my way out, a black millennial walked me out of the store. I was appalled and plan to never return. Although I paid cash for the processor, I called Macy's and closed my account. I bought boots, sheets and a blender. I noticed two days later that the boots and blender were on sale. After many emails back and forth, and many excuses as to why I couldn't get the price adjustment, I gave up, which is what Macy's wanted me to do. What a scam! Customer service is NOT the prime concern in this store. I was looking for stylish yet supportive shoes, but was never offered any assistance. When I asked for help, the clerk barely listened to me and just directed me to search on my own again. I don't believe the sales staff are actually trained to sell their products, just to fetch them and to ring them up. I overheard one customer tell the clerk she'd only brought out one shoe. The clerk testily informed her that the other was on the display. I suspect the customer might have appreciated being told that from the start, or even having had the clerk get the other shoe for her so that she could try it on. I wouldn't know. Worst customer service!!!!!!!!!! First time shop at Macy's. I usually do my shopping at Barney and Bergdorf Goodman. But I need to get sth from my housekeeper for her birthday. The whole cosmetics dept people look at you like you are walking fungus. They don't even want to bother to ask you for any assistant, just stand there and stare at you like hoping the customer could vanish so they don't need to do anything and get pay. After 10mins of standing, some 40ish old looking sale woman said "everything is 20% off, but not Michael Kors." with her rolling eyes. She sounded like MK is an expensive brand. If that 40ish old looking sale look clearly, I was wearing Moncler jacket with Delvaux tempete. The sale tax for delvaux bag is already $400ish. That is 1-2 MK bags or whatever amount is. Now I know why so many Macy's closed down. Even Popeyes got better customer service than macy's. read more

You wonderful why stores are closing. I know one of answer is customer service. I was at the Macy on Roosevelt Blvd in Philadelphia. After purchasing several items in the men's department, I was given two small bags. I asked for a larger bag and salesperson she had no larger bag. I accepted this and moved to the women department and asked for a larger bag there and was told they only had small bags and Macy no longer had bag with handles. I continues shopping, the two smaller bags were uncomfortable and hurt my hands. When I went to pay for my stuff, the same sale person who told me there were no large bag, bags my purchases in a large bag...when I said something to her, she didn't offer an explanation why I was denied a large bag.... God knows I spent enough money there???? I asked to speak to a manager he didn't answer his phone and couldn't be paged. By in the parking lot there was a woman with a Macy's bag with handles To macy's employee I ask "do you want my business?" I won't shop at the Roosevelt Blvd location again read more

While at times I've experience horrible customer service, I must say Michelle at the men's cologne counter was 100% on point! Michelle is the sales lady at the Jimmy Choo men's cologne counter. This is definitely not my favorite Macy's, but in a pinch, it does the job. This location feels quite small compared to the center city or Cherry Hill locations, but they still carry a good variety of brands and products. I can't believe The women who work in the 'women's' shoe department have jobs. The last 5 times I have visited that store, they were so rude, and so unprofessional, and just kept on ignoring me every time I tried getting someone's attention to help me find a shoe size. They were very snappy, and very short with everything. They were so quick to dismiss me that I barely was able to ask my questions and try on what I wanted. Needless to say, I ended up taking a seat and ordering my shoes ONLINE, from right there inside the store. THATS how badly I wanted a pair of shoes, without having to interact with those employees. I almost wanted to tell them that if they hated their jobs that much-- that they shouldn't work there and bring everyone else down around them. I walked in a happy,curious, customer.. The first words that come to mind when I think about this hell hole is, unmitigated disaster. It's basically the worst aspects of shopping in any department store, all culminated into this one location. It is soul sucking. The store is smaller than your typical Macy's but jam packed full of sub par crap. No one who works there seem to know where anything is, or care to find out. I ordered something online for store pickup and that was a terrible experience. I was redirected 4 times as to where to pick up my order, since no one seemed to know the right answer. When I finally arrive to where I need to be, there is a mob scene in front of the counter. No line or any semblance of order, just a mob of people shoving their way to the front. Instead of controlling the chaos the painfully slow clerk behind the counter slithered away to do God knows what on another computer. I seriously have never seen anyone move so slowly. If I didn't know any better I would have thought she was wading through molasses. It was unbearable. Then when she came back and I was finally next in the mob scene she didn't even talk, no thank you, sorry for the wait, piss off, nothing. So ignorant. What was meant to be a quick, convenient experience turned out to be mayhem and I shall avoid this pit at all costs. read more

Just stopped by to pay my wife's bill. I stood at one customer service counter for at least 5 minutes while two employees walked by oblivious. I stood in line at another counter while several people who clearly aren't employed and stocking up on welfare's dime nitpicked everything. Finally, I went to the make up counter, asked a guy for help who pointed to a short stocky older woman whose greeting was "what" rather than how can I help you. She processed the bill, but talk about rude, discourteous, and unfriendly. I guess you don't see too many gainfully employed professionals in this store. Talk about Ghetto! read more

This is the worst Macy's I have ever dealt with. I am very dissatisfied with the level of service I have received. Macy's.com has not done anything but lied to me and has made this situation absolutely awful. I am just trying to get credit for some merchandise that I returned to the store. I made the purchase online and opted to pickup at the store nearest me, BIG MISTAKE. I order two bras in one size, received two bras in TWO DIFFERENT SIZES! How crazy is that? Went online to complain received an email instructing me to return the merchandise to the store for full credit. Once I get to the store, sales clerk can't process the return. She call a manager, they try several times can not process the return. The manager then calls Macy's.com they inform me that the return has been process on their end and I should leave the merchandise. BIG MISTAKE, now I have not received the credit and I don't have the merchandise either. I need someone to help me, I have spent 2hours on the phone with Macy's only to listen to the online folks blame the store and the store to blame the online folks. This is a nightmare! Went shopping for a dressy dress and was highly disappointed in the lack of options. More like a Marshalls than Macy's

Macy's has used disgraceful business practices for their credit card customers. They have without explanation stopped sending paper statements or delivering statements to bank accounts they previously delivered. They have let these bills go several months and then started sending statements again with outrageous interest and penalty charges for not paying the bill timely. In between, they have called daily to say your bill is overdue but when I asked for a statement refused to send it. After finally receiving a statement showing an amount charged by me and and additional charge of the same amount (again with no indication of what was purchased I went to a store and they contacted the credit department for me. The credit department explained that they had stopped sending bills to bank accounts and one had to log on to their portal to get a statement and pay the bill. Of course this was news to me since i was never told that they were discontinuing statements and even had a portal for payment. I can only believe that this was done so they could collect more money than they were owed and beef up their paper profits for year end. Cele B. read more

I like this store. Not real expensive and a lot of good sales. I went there to get some underwear and they had it on sale and not real expensive., I had a little trouble finding somebody to ring up the order, I think she was fixing the racks of clothing or something. But once I found her she rang it up and got me out. I was there soon after they opened the store so they were not real crowded. I know they can get real crowded sometimes, especially on weekends, so I try to get there early before they get too busy. But I do like Macys and would recommend it. read more

worst customer service ever. I called 3 weeks ago to schedule a makeup appointment at MAC. The lady assured me that since I would be going on a weekday, I did not need to make one, I could just come in as a walk-in, buy $60 worth of makeup, and get my makeup done for free. Everything was set for my senior pictures, I went to get my makeup done around 11:50, my photo appointment was at 1:45. When I arrived there was no one to be found--- already terrible customer service. 15 minutes later, a makeup artist appears and asks me if I need help. I tell her what I was told and she tells me she cannot do my makeup because she is the only one on the sales floor and needs to assist other customers. I asked when she would be able to--- she says not for another hour, and warns me that makeup takes about an hour. I am naturally upset because by then i will have been late to my photo appointment. She took my first name down.... no last name, no phone number, no nothing, and tells me to return in an hour. I then called several mac stores and counters and no one was able to take me because i didnt have an appointment--- something I was told was not something that could be done on a weekday by the Mac at this Macy's. I finally get ahold of the Mac counter at Cherry Hill's Macy's and Taylor, an employee, tells me he can do my makeup, he would just have to step away for a few seconds if another customer comes as he is the only one on the floor.... I was finally happy. I don't understand why the employee at the MAC inside the Macy's at Roosevelt mall could not simply do that... the store was empty and its not like she was a good employee anyway, it took me 15 minutes to find her ! Talk about Lazy... ruined my morning and almost my entire day. read more
