I've been here over 10 times over the years and I've always been generally satisfied with my visit. I actually don't visit Macy's as much as I did when I was younger but I had a 2024 Christmas gift card to use so I stopped on in. Recently, on Saturday, 28 December 2024, I came to find a formal dress for a wedding. I had a good experience here. I entered from the Northwest entrance and asked for help with finding the formal dresses. A female employee kindly directed me to the formal dresses which happened to be in the same area where I was already located (1st floor right at the Northwest entrance door). I walked a few second down from where I was and I immediately found 2 great dresses. I tried them on in the changing room and then choose a beautiful and long blue dress. I used a gift card to purchase the dress and the price was under $80 because the dress was on sale. So, I got a good deal. With the remaining balance on my gift card, I bought blush (face makeup) which is something I wanted but I didn't have at home. The one I bought is actually also an eye shadow and eye liner as well. The brand is Lancôme Paris. The 2 ladies over at the Lancôme makeup counter were very helpful. They helped me try on the blush first to see how it would look on my face (they mixed in the blush with a foundation to see how it would look). I'll certainly be back if I need a new dress. they are scammers. I bought a hat and scarf present for a guy and when I was wrapping the present, I peeled the price tag and there was another tag underneath and it's was on sale. it said last act on sale for $10. Instead of peeling the yellow tag they put the original price back and they were selling it for full price. When I went back there to ask about it and showed them the prices, the manager immediately starts yelling saying legally we can do whatever we want to do. That is scamming people, but most importantly he didn't leave me a chance to talk !! Had he been kind, I would have understood but he was rude and unpleasant from the start. Walking into Macy's felt so familiar. East side of CLE doesn't have one, so we drove to N. Olmsted to shop. This store was beautiful at the holidays with red decorations. Considering all the shopping taking place, the store was organized and picked up. Lots of racks had sale signs and we found a lot of nice clothing for discounted prices. Since our credit card had been deactivated for lack of use we opened a new one and received an additional 20 % off the purchase. We hadn't been to this mall, but now I know we'll be coming back. Let me start by saying as a general rule I love Macy's and I have been to many locations over the years and I have been coming to this Macy's for many years so I am qualified to ask the question " what happened here". I thought JCP was the big brand that is in trouble if this was the first time I ever stepped into a Macy's I would never go back. This store was empty and was staffed about as light as possible the clothing section was a train wreck clothes on the floor, clothes bundled up on shelves nothing in order by size and it appeared dirty.. This location doesn't represent the Macy's I know and love and if this is the direction the company is going they are in trouble. If I could give them negative stars, Macy's would get -10. Do not shop here. Their return policy is ridiculous. You can return to Marc's, you can return to Kohl's, Walmart, JCPenney, Target, and the list goes on... But guess what? You cannot return anything to Macy's. And keep in mind that Macy's is an always has been, and always will be The May Company. Mays has changed its name from one thing to another over the last 50 years and I never had an issue over that 50 years. I am shocked, amazed, confused, and appalled! Original owners of this fine company from the 1930s or 40s are turning over in their grave to see what their shops have turned into. Now that they're Macy's they're overpriced and out priced in everything----, May company is no longer in my vocabulary. I went there today to buy an air fryer they had on sale for 34.99. I wanted to try one because people say it's healthy cooking. so I found this one it was digital and it looked big enough for one so I traveled and picked one out. When I got to the register and paid , I asked where I would return it if I don't like it - was explained that unless there's something wrong with it we don't accept returns. I said, so if I bought a pair of slacks or a pair of shoes or a bra I couldn't return it? The reply was unless there's something defective we don't accept returns if used because if there's nothing wrong with it and you're just returning it because you don't like it we can't resell it. I immediate returned it before I left store. Again again, I say to you, do not shop here!!!!!! I can see why they're closing stores and losing money... Do I sound a little angry? Store was empty. Boxes were dusty. Nobody comes here to shop. They use it as a go through to get to the rest of the mall. I will remember that and I will find somewhere else to try out an air fryer. read more

Normally I get pretty good service from Macy's but there's something in the water about this particular location that makes employees avoid me like the plague. After my last two experiences there, I will go out of my way to shop at a different location. - I went in to look around, but the main reason that I was there was to pay off my Macy's bill. I greet an employee standing at a cash register near the exit (she didn't look busy at all and she was on my way out of the store) to tell her that I'd like to pay my bill. She tells me that she just closed her register. Um, ok. It's like 4pm, can't you use a different register? I just walked away and had someone else in the store do it. As I walked out, I see the original employee ringing up a customer on the register that she just "closed." So that means she just didn't want to help me, she just wanted the sale. - I was in the show department looking for boots. Picking up lots of pairs, I was even wearing my old boots that I wanted to replace. No one in the department looked at me. There were even two men standing around, just talking about whatever, instead of even looking at me, saying hi, or asking if I needed any assistance. What the hell?? I'm wearing crappy boots and I'm looking at new, expensive boots. Doesn't that ring a bell that I might want to buy something? I guess they just don't care. I also went shopping around the store for other things but not one person that worked there said a word to me or even looked at me. I didn't smell, I wasn't dirty. I just wasn't important enough to acknowledge that day. read more

Eh, I'm not a fan of Macy's. Typically I feel like the shoe dept. looks like some one vomited shoes all over it, and sales reps are few & far between. Also, for those of you who have fragrance intolerance....avoid the store at all costs (especially during the Christmas season). I'm sure you could find a bargain here if you were looking, but I'm just not a fan of the product, the store, or the service (or lack there of.) Macy's = Meh in my book. I prefer Dillards. Giving one star only because the software does not allow for a negative star rating. My husband and I will never shop at Macy's again. We are cutting up our Platinum cards and we are washing our hands of Macy's. We never have the problems we have with Macy's when we shop at LLBean, Nordstrom's, JCP, or Kohl's. It seems Macy's is in a very sorry state. In the last month, I received two seperate orders where a security device was left attached to the items. In the last month and a half, I received a robe without a belt. Last Sunday I received a package that was supposed to contain two identical blazers, however, their wonderfully conscientious employees at the Woodbridge, NJ store sent just one, while still charging us for two. The store receipt showed that it was sent from their Woodbridge NJ store. The package seemed oddly small for two blazers, so I recorded opening it, thinking it would help them to improve their broken processes if my concern rang true. Sure enough, there was just one blazer inside, accompanied by a receipt showing a quantity of two was charged to our Macy's card. I sent the video, along with a detailed email, to the Escalation Lead in Cincinnati, Ohio. The response we received was that if we continue to have issues, they will "have to block us from shopping online". WHAT???????? After reading her anger-inducing response, I called to complain and spoke with an offshore representative, who assured that they would expedite a replacement to me. We spent multiple thousands of dollars at Macy's last year, mostly through shopping online during the pandemic. We hear Macy's message LOUD and CLEAR. The final straw came today when checking the tracking on the blazer I had been assured I would receive today. I saw that while a label had been created, nothing further happened, despite that the estimated delivery date indicating that it would still arrive today. I called Macy's and got a rep who looked into it and said that the blazer is no longer available. IT WAS AVAILABLE LAST NIGHT. I know this because I liked the blazer so much that I ordered it in multiple colors, including the same color, as late as last night. This means that from Sunday to Wednesday, nobody picked or shipped the blazer - despite the expedited shipping applied. Apparently the employees at Macy's do not comprehend or care how highly frustrating it is to pay for two of something and only receive ONE - whilst still being charged for TWO. Apparently they do not care enough to see the shipping of its "replacement" to be of a higher priority, either. I used to enjoy shopping at Macy's. While I do like many of the items I've purchased, I do not like having to put up with their broken processes, and I especially do not like putting up with their sub-par customer service. read more

Macy's is generally the same across all their stores. It's good in that you know what you're going to get out of this store wherever you go. This store is just as good as every other Macy's. I think Macy's in general has a great selection of items from clothing to housewares, but I'm not a big fan of their furniture--the quality is no better than cheaply built stuff available in any other furniture store. Not everything here is always the best deal. One thing I've realized is that they always have a major sale. Every weekend there's a new major sale and the same things are usually on sale. This means its not worth going to Macy's just because you heard of a major sale. Unless of course you're planning to buy something you know is on sale at that moment. And if you miss a sale item, just wait a month and it'll be back. You wanted that $3000 mattress set on sale for $900 and you missed it? Wait a few weeks and you'll see it again. The only time that's not the case is where a sale is related to a discontinued brand. When you're shopping for something and considering a sale item that just seems absurdly low, ask the clerk whether the item is getting discontinued. In some cases, you'll hear about how the store is just depleting stock to re-release it under a different brand. But that brings me to another point. Skip the store brands. For example, the Martha Stewart items they sold were just re-tagged budget items they used to sell under a different name, and for a much lower price. I got a set of older Martha Stewart knives for cheap because Macy's was moving the Martha brand over to a lower quality house brand. The original Martha items were pretty solid, but they got crappy after the change. I've found this to be the case for a lot of their exclusive brands these days--the quality of these items weren't good compared to the time-tested brands. Macy's just licenses brands such as Martha Stewart and uses it on private label cheap-o items. On the plus side, Macy's is finally shifting away from awarding Macy's credit card holders to a rewards card system. While both are meant to track purchasing and build target marketing, at lard-holder discounts are starting to become available to me. I'm not about to get another credit card just to have a 10% discount during one of their weekly sales to end all sales events. read more

The customer service was awful. I was looking for a particular purse I saw online and the woman in the purse department swooshed me so she could answer the phone. So I browsed for a few minutes and then walked up to the man in the shoe department and asked him if there were any other places in the store that had purses. He was rude and told me three different ways he didn't know and to go ask someone else. I just walked away because his manners were atrocious. The purse lady found me and helped me but I was already frustrated and just wanted to get out of there. read more

I waited over 45 minutes to get my ears pierced. When the only associate that can pierce ears was done with the previous customer who she was with her 45 minutes, was after her shift ended and she asked me to come back the next day. Is that right? Or is it just me? read more

So Disappointed! First-time shopper, opened a Macy's account at the end November for an extra 20% off. The associate used my driver's license to key in the correct address. Never received my card or statement so I called the store at the Great Northern Mall in Ohio where I had opened the account. That's where the nightmare began! They had to correct my address and added my phone number to the account. The associate told me that there would be no late fees or interest accrued on the account because the fault was on their end. He extended my due date to enable time for the statement and card to be mailed so I could finally pay the balance. A few days later I started getting calls from their credit department. I explained what had happened and thought everything was taken care of. Not at all! I continued to receive calls for about 2 weeks! I told them not to call me anymore as I was getting nowhere with these folks. I received a threatening letter in the mail telling me that if the bill wasn't paid the account would be reported to the credit bureau since they were unable to contact me by phone. When I did finally get my statement it had late fees and interest charges included! I called again, this time talking to a supervisor who took payment over the phone without the fees and I paid the balance off. I closed my account then and there and thought the ordeal was finally finished. Nope, received another statement in the mail this week for interest charge of $ 7.83. This time I called the corporate office hoping that someone would hear my complaint and DO SOMETHING! I was left once again to call the credit department who reversed the interest charge. I am hoping this debacle is over! I will never shop at Macy's again! If this is the customer service they offer I would do much better at the local thrift shop! What a mess! read more

Big box stores are dying. Macys is just like the others. Perpetual sales all the time. You don't know what there real price is. They don't a big and tall department. Household goods are nice but you can get a much better price elsewhere. The store is too big for the merchandise they carry. read more

To start off I'm 15 and I was on a date with my girlfriend today her friend tagged along too, I met up with them at the furniture section of the Macy's in the mall on the third level and immediately gave her a hug in the bed section and instantly this older man walked up and told us we needed to leave but we did absolutely nothing wrong we met there because my dad wanted me to check out some beds because he wants me to get a new one but we didn't even touch one of them before he told us that later we came back because I really did need to pick out a mattress and the same older employee followed us around the entire time he wasn't even politely doing so, he never even asked is there anything I can help you with and when I say followed I don't mean from a distance he was standing right behind us following our every move eventually we got sick of it and actually quite creeped out that he was listening to everything we said so we left. We will not be returning and Macy's will not have our business again read more

I ordered a shirt offline about a week and a half ago and I went to return it this morning. It had the tags attached with the size screenprinted on the back of shirt. It seemed like the original fabric size tag wasn't on it or had been ripped off. The salesperson would not return it for me. I asked for a manager. He told me that "all" shirts had fabric size tags in them and the tag screenprinted on the back. He also told me that the sweatshirt wasn't on the receipt.. It was. I had to correct him and show him. I don't expect above and beyond customer service at macys but I do expect common decency. I am just floored that I was denied a return at first for a shirt I ORDERED A WEEK AGO with the TAGS ATTACHED and the size PRINTED on the shirt. I worked retail for about six years and I am still super confused. I am sure they work on commission and it must be frustrating with online returns but I left Macys wanting to cry. I recently purchased a suit at another store for a friend's wedding and was unsure of the fit. I took it into Macy's this evening to try on another size as the original store I purchased from did not have the bigger size in stock. The lady that helped me this evening had me try on my purchased suit and a size bigger Macy's suit, multiple times, and let me know her thoughts. Ultimately, the size I originally purchased fit the best. The lady could have easily sold me on the bigger size but she gave me her honest opinion. I will come back to this store to purchase in the future because I know the sales lady will look out for my best interests. Thanks again!! read more

I bought a 1,800$ Simmon bed from macy's and 2 yrs. later the bed is sunk in and we followed all of the instructions on rotating matress and even bought the 80$ stain cover. I called macy's customer service and scheduled a sat. appt. for someone to come inspect the mattress. The day before they were supposed to come macy's called and said they don't make sat. appt. after they already booked my sat. appt. Idiots!!!! I can't just take off work because i bought junk from macy's. I have never seen a co. that can't be there for you on a sat. after spending 1,800$. I will never shop at macy's again! read more
