Last Sunday afternoon, July 2nd I went to the ladies perfume section and I had the most unsatisfactory customer service! The lady was not fully attentive to me, she was chatting with another sales associate and then when a man came, she got a lot more distracted, she gave the guy 95% attention! They all talked in foreign language! It feels like she does not work there with how she acted! AND on top of such bad service, she sold me an opened box (not in sealed plastic wrap) of Versace Eros Pour Femme Eau de Parfum! She wrapped it in crumpled white tissue paper and put it in the bag so I won't notice!!!! Unbelievable! I love Fashion Island but will not go back to Macy's again! read more

HORRIBLE. Going into this Macy's is such a sad disappointment. I absolutely love shopping at Fashion Island: its got the prestige of South Coast minus the bougie. However, the staff at the cosmetics/fragrance dept. at the Macy's here is fully packed with all the snootyness with no customer service. I came in tonight - a Friday night at the start of the holiday shopping season - and there was literally only 3 people working the entire fragrance/beauty dept. I came in buying his & hers Chanel fragrance gift sets which was over $250. Firstly, it took forever to be helped and I had to go out of my way and seek an associate for help. After I finally found someone to help me with my transaction, I noticed that aside from the gal helping me, the 2 other associates that were free, were actually doing their own personal shopping and ringing each other up despite customers (myself and a few other customers) looking to be helped! It was mid evening and not even close to closing time! Lastly, I asked if they had any gifts with purchase for my almost $300 purchase and was told no. So I asked for samples at least, and the attitude I was given was like I was asking for the lady's first born child! YOU WORK AT MACY'S FOR GOODNESS SAKE! The company & vendors provides samples for customers even without purchase. From what I observed earlier, the staff was too pre-occupied about doing their own personal shopping during working hours instead of doing work & helping customers. If you love Macys and are looking for attentive customer service, go to Macys @ Mainplace Mall. I went there immediately after and was surprised to see how above and beyond the customer service is at location. I would like to mention, however, that Natalie (or Nancy) is the only saving grace employee in the beauty dept at the FI location. read more

I frequently use their Stylist/Personal Shopper, Bernadette Bowman, who is very friendly and super helpful. My entire family goes to her for all of our shopping needs! read more

This place deserves a zero rating. Macy's customer service is horrific. No one cares, and honestly this company will not survive another decade. I have shopped at Macy's for over 20 years and their level of service continues to decline. The people at this store are lazy and absolutely rude. Just visited this store and was very disappointed. The ceiling was leaking in several different places on the second floor. The kitchen section is horrible with no choices other than pots and pans. In the swimware section lots of top but no bottoms near by. It was a hunting expedition to find bottoms to match the tops. I went there to return a delivery I received this week that arrived damaged. A lovely woman that was sick was waiting on us and then another woman arrived who was extremely rude. I thought we were given third degree and she did not want to return it. A few other things transpired with her were not pleasant either. She was also rude to the lady helping us and was ordering her around with a rude tone did you print the receipt, did you print the damaged receipt multiple times. She brought out a cart for the box and just stood there expecting my daughter to put in on the cart. It wasn't even heavy. read more

This review is specifically for Chris. One of my girlfriends is getting married so I had to come into Macy's for the obligatory wedding registry purchase. Having been to Macy's on many previous occasions I wasn't expecting much from my experience but the exceptional customer service provided by Chris had me smiling for the rest of the day. He helped me print out the registry and find the gift I wanted, not only that but he took the time to help me at the register as only one set of glassware was in stock and he assisted me with ordering both. Dear,Macys/Benefit Brow Bar @ Fashion Island, If your going to move the Benefit brow bar to middle of the store some privacy curtains would be appreciated. I never wanted to go to the brow bar when it was over by the escalator because it was right in the middle of the store. Then when I saw it was moved out of the main area and had more privacy I started using it regularly. Now you have moved it to back the middle of the store where everyone is walking by. No woman wants to sit and have her face all marked up with black pencil or be seen getting her face waxed where everyone can see you. read more

I can tell others experience at this Macys has not been impressive but I prefer this location. I know where to park if I am looking for home furnishings ( 1st floor) or need to get makeup( 2nd floor) or check out clothing (3rd floor) so for that I like it over South Coast Plaza. The selection here is much more limited but it is not as crazy as the SCP location. I have always had great customer service in the nightwear section and home furnishing. Shoe department is always a disaster but the employees always seem over worked. It is difficult to find associates as they definitely are understaffed. Sales are very good. My tip, if you do not want to see the mess or clutter as the day rolls on come when they open, as the store is organized, quiet and employees are helpful and friendly. read more

Serivice here is SERIOUSLY LACKING, especially the handbags department. Tried calling to inquire about a certain purse that my mom had her sight set on and it was only available at this location. The lady I spoke to on the phone is incredibly rude and unhelpful. Was hoping that they'd price match and I'd be able to use my mom's Macy's card, but all I got over the phone was incredibly curt and rude responses, and of course, a big fat no on price match. Live-chatted Nordstrom instead and they had no problem with it at all, and even offered expedited shipping since it's a gift. Screw you Macy's, I'm never giving you my money again. read more

I like this Macy's location. I wanted to buy lipstick and first went to the Lancôme counter and was approached by an aggressive sales lady who was not very helpful and therefore turned me off from the brand. I went across to the Clinique counter and was helped by Lida who was professional and very helpful in helping me find the right shade of color. I left very happy and satisfied despite being hassled by the Lancôme sales lady. read more

Macy's Incentivizes their store clerks to get you to sign up for credit cards even when they know the item you want to purchase is not in stock. After spending almost an hour applying for the card I was told the item was not in stock. I instructed them to cancel my credit card application. This account stayed open and eventually harmed my credit. They were unsympathetic when I asked them to correct the error. read more

I got hustled by some sales guy in the home appliance section. I bought a kitchen aid mixer under the pretense that I would receive a rebate that got denied. Upon further review, the rebate was never valid, the sales guy straight lied to me. I say this because I was walking away and he pulled this rebate out at the last moment and made it seem like I was getting a great deal. I don't know if I should be mad at him or give him a round of applause for being sleezier than a used car salesman. read more

This Macy's is way nicer than all of the other Macy's in Orange County. Maybe it's because of the city that it's in but either way I really enjoy shopping at this location. It is three levels and everything is very easy to find. Most of the home stuff is on the first level, make up and fragrances are on the second level, and the third level is mostly women's clothing. Not only is it laid out very nicely but I also feel like they have a way better selection here compared to other stores. The active/workout section is one of the best that I have seen . Also if you shop things that are on clearance you can get some pretty amazing deals. They allow you to apply coupons as well. I recommend always checking your items on the price scanner because sometimes the items are cheaper than what is on the tag! read more

Went to this Macys a couple days ago to return some of the girlfriends clothing items she had gotten from Christmas. After going to the third floor and returns them, 1-6 items weren't registering and the associate explained she couldn't return it without proof of purchase. I explained that it was from Macys (because only Macys sells Afani). And I explained that I wouldn't mind having the lowest selling price of in onto a gift cards because I was planning on shopping anyway. After getting frustrated and heading down to the men's floor, a manager named Gilbert came up to me and asked if I needed any help. After exalting to him what had happened, he took me to the closest register and did the return for me. Gilbert is awesome! He truly saved the day and I plan on continuing my shopping at Macys. read more

Terrible service at the mac cosmetics counter on multiple occasions. This past Saturday was the worst. Came for concealer and lipstick. Was given the wrong concealer color and stood at the cash register for a solid 15 minutes before anyone was able to ring me up. They were doing some makeup applications, and I understand, but does that mean that no one else is able to make a purchase during that time? Disappointing for such a great cosmetics brand. read more

Favorite Macy's location. This location is huge, and they have the biggest and most extensive selection of merchandise. Whenever I do my research prior to coming in I always find they have what I'm looking for in stock. They have some of the friendliest and least pretentious employees. GIFT CARD BUYERS BEWARE! Macys has been having an issue with some internal fraud with gift cards. Someone is stealing gift card numbers and using them. I had a $200 gift card that I tried to use but it was cashed out. The manager at the SF location claims she saw this same problem happen 2 months ago. Fortunately the person that gave me the gift card saved the receipt so we could prove we didnt use it elsewhere. The gift card I received was issued in Arcadia and cashed out in Riverside. My concern is once the back is scratched you can't prove or disprove you didn't spend the cash yourself. My fatty recommendation is to stop using macy's gift card services because they can't keep their shit safe. It took over an hour to get a new card reissued. Buy these gift cards at your own risk. Bought a Cologne for my boyfriend for Christmas and he went back to exchange it for something he didn't have... The counter asked him for his drivers license and then told him that it wasn't from Macy's.. And then proceeded to tell him that he can return it and purchase something else with his own money! I am so embarrassed and disgusted with the lack of customer service that this store has... The only good thing about this store is that they are dog friendly.. On Sunday I called this Macy's looking for the almost out-of-stock INC King bed shams in my pattern. I was fortunate enough to get Ryder as the sales associate who looked tenaciously for the item and finally found it. When I went Monday to pick them up, I dropped by housewares looking for a 12" skillet with cover and the nice sales associate who offered to help was Ryder - he again searched and we went through several items before he found exactly what I wanted. I went to the Lancome counter to get some products and there was no one at the counter. As I wandered around trying to find someone, a young lady came up to me and offered to help me. I needed three items, she could not find two of them. She kept saying the products were not there. After contacting the counter manager and 5 to 10 minutes of looking for each product she finally did find two of them. She never did find the third product. However, she did take me over to the Clinique counter to sell me some Foundation (which I had asked for). However, she said Lancome didn't have the proper foundation for me so she tried to sell me on Clinique. I told her I don't like Clinique. This child had absolutely no personality I tried to engage her in conversation and all she could do is complain about how tired she was. I told her she had pretty skin (because she did) and she never said thank you. She just continued complaining about her long hours. Macy's you've got to teach your people customer service, it was the worst experience I've had in a long time. Until I got to the lingerie counter downstairs. That nasty woman barely even looked at me and when I tried to ask questions, she said she didn't know and she was rude. I honestly almost said forget it, however I did need the products for a trip. Now I have to go back because one of the items didn't fit (because I wouldn't try them on as I wanted to get out of there)!!! I won't go back to those departments. read more

This is really the only Macy's I will go to, mainly for their impulse section (South Coast has the best shoe section). Their impulse section is now upstairs and it nearly doubled in size and has such a great selection. They constantly have an ever-flowing sales rack where I have found amazing deals on stuff. Nanette Lepore top for $15, Marc Jacobs pants for $40. You may need to hunt a little, but I have found amazing deals here. The other impulse sections in OC, just dont compare. read more

I love this Macys and I love this mall! All the girls at the cosmetics department were great! They always have pretty clothes and the best deals in their clothing department. Only three stars because they guy that sold me my watch was really nice and super cool. Watch department is a mess, supper cramped and I bumped into a stand 3 times when looking at the watches. I was looking at the fossil watches. Most if them where all over the place and upside-down. The guy was super cool tho, and let me try on most if them. Bought one and got it sized for free, but when I got home the band was broken. I went to another Macy's and they helped me out, but come on man. I go to this Macy's just for the Benefit counter. I have had my make up done a few times there and it was fantastic! MAC charges $50 during the holidays to do your makeup and I was over that. Michelle did my face and it looked so great. I have used Benefit products before and I am always happy with them. Their marketing alone is adorable. Bought a couple of nice things. Their shoe department was awesome, received one-on-one service from start to finish. Upon trying to buy a ladies blouse though, the first two registers I found were unmanned, the third was helping a customer reactivate her Macy's card with great difficulty, and I over heard the customer complain that she didn't save enough money to be waiting around for 30 minutes to have this done. 30 minutes! Meanwhile I and a few other customers were waiting to be checked out and being inconvenienced. Finally found a manager who helped me out. Tip: don't go there after work on a Friday night expecting to spend some of your hard earned pay, Macy's makes it very difficult and they take the fun out of shopping. Just my opinion but credit card issues should be done in customer service away from paying customers with cash in hand, just saying. read more

I literally came here to be colored matched and i been sitting here for over minutes. The guy "helping " me at MAC has had me waiting for over 45 minutes !!! I will never come back here ever again!! . All i need is literally is a SPF FOUNDATION that's it!!! What ever his never name is l, never came back. I told him it was okay to help another customer with a lipstick and never came back to check up with me. I honestly can say i will WILL NEVER come back here!!! So i was finally able to get his attention his name is JOHNNY!!! he said he didn't have time to help me out!! WTF does that even mean!?? The store is pretty nice and the selection is pretty good but it's hard to find a salesperson in many of the departments to ring up a sale or find merchandise. The exception is housewares and the linen department - they are pretty well staffed and helpful. I would give 4-5 stars if it was easier to check out. Only for the Origins counter, no one was around and finally I found a lady who was talking to another associate. She was so unhelpful, I was looking and wanted to see different products. However, she said "come find me when you want to pay" she came across another customer in her culture and spoke to her for almost 45 minutes in a different language. I felt so uncomfortable, I wanted to just leave but I really wanted to get my moms Mother's Day present. She was awful while she was checking me out. I had a coupon and she totally rolled her eyes at me and sighed. Sorry I'm not a rich Newport girl, I'm a college student trying to make my mom happy. This was yesterday around 4pm, a tall Asian lady. I wasn't the only customer she offended. Thankfully the Urban Decay girls were super sweet to me and my day wasn't completely ruined.
