Always nice to walk through Macy's whenever I am at the mall. They are one of the OG department stores that are still around. Glad they are still in business. This Macy's is located at Fashion Island Newport Beach. Very bright and clean in every section. Merchandise neatly organized. Just so nice and comfortable to stroll through. Staff covering their comestics and beauty stations were ready to assist. I wanted to ask one of the staff members about facial regimens for dark spots, but I was on a time crunch and didn't ask. My review is about not feeling safe in the parking area in front of the Macy's in Newport Beach {department store located at Fashion Island ( men section second floor) }. Yesterday I was waiting for my grandma in the parking lot and that white toyota almost hit me as I was putting something in the trunk of her car. At the same time a security guy was driving around and I showed him that car and I told him that driver was going crazy fast so he almost hit me standing outside by the trunk; however, security left and that white guy in his 60 came towards me and started yelling and screaming and insulting me. Because I was standing in the handicap area he assumed (he was driving and acting crazy) that I was handicapped but he didn't apologized for his actions instead he told me well you're handicapped... so he meant it was okay for him to hit me because out of his crazy mind he thought I was handicapped!!! I honestly don't think that he was in the right mind but when security guy came back I explained it to him about what happened and I asked him to call the police. I was surprised that he said if he call police they would not come and they only ask for online or in person police report. That means he didn't have any authority to do anything about this guy harassing me. I am white and I am an US citizen but I was harassed by this racist guy in the parking lot of Macy's Fashion Island and there was no one there to help me. I always heard of Ku Klux Klan in Orange County but it was the first time I saw one them. Again, if something happens to you in the parking lot of fashion island in Newport Beach you on your own and there is no one there to help you as security guy told me they only allowed to gave warning to crazy drivers; however, from now on I don't feel safe going there anymore because of those KKK. read more

I went to Macy's at Fashion Island to find a pair of pink Nikes for a little kid. I saw them online, so I knew they had to be there. Headed to the kids' section--no shoes in sight. I asked a sales lady where their kids' Nikes were, and she told me, "We don't carry kids' shoes. Go to Nordstrom." I was like, "Um, yes you do. I saw it online." She argued with me and suggested I visit every other store in the mall. So, I gave up and left, but guess what? As I was walking out, I literally walked past the kids' shoes--right next to the adult section. So yeah, Macy's: I guess your sales lady was just trying to send me on a wild goose chase. Might want to clue her in next time! Next time, I will bring my business to Nordstrom like she suggested instead. read more

I just wanted to shout out Andy for being an excellent sales associate. I normally don't like to be bothered in stores as I am pretty anti social, but he was very friendly, made sure we found all we needed and just overall very friendly. Thank you! Pt. 2: Bought some shoes from an older gentlemen at the women's shoes Dept. yesterday (can't remember his name) after buying men's clothes. One show was a different size. Returned to Macey's today, and wanted to note that Shahla not only helped us out quickly and attentively, but extra accommodating by offering to have the new shoes mailed to us with the shipping fees waived for the trouble. As I was walking though Macy's in Fashion Island today, a super cute pair of Ugg slippers caught my eye. I went to the counter, and was immediately greeted and helped by a very friendly young lady with long dark hair. I don't recall her name, but she was very nice, and brought out the shoes I wanted really quick. My experience at this Macy's today, is the level of Macy's customer service that I am used to. So many Macy's locations have really bottomed out in regards to customer service. Not a single one of them said "Hello" or "can I help you find something..." I wouldn't have purchased anything from the store today based on my experience- if not for the gift card in my pocket. I fell in love with a Polo jean jacket in the cut, color and style I've been looking for almost 2 years. Since the jacket was on sale, I asked the sales team to put it on hold for me. Bita placed a sign on the jacket so no one touches it. Sweet! But Romina took the initiative to walk over to ask her Manager if they can hold the jacket for 2 days. Now that, my fiend is excellent customer service. She went out of her way to make sure I, the customer, was heard. That's all I needed. I will absolutely NEVER shop at Macy's again. I tried to return in store a pair of shoes that was mailed to me because the shoe was not available in my daughter's size. It took about 2 weeks to get the shoes. Apparently about two years ago they changed their return policy and do not take returns over 30 days. My item was at 31 days. No where is this policy stated. Not on the receipt, not in the store, no where. No exchanges, no credit. Nothing. Their customer service line is also ridiculous. They have really gone down hill. Very Meh merchandise that is taken from box and hung up looking rumpled. Salespeople who couldn't care less. I will gladly take my business elsewhere. read more

Huge store, very well stocked. Tons of easy parking and not very busy, especially weekdays and mornings. Prices are on the high end, but they carry quality clothing and often have sales and coupons you can use. One of the better Macy's locations. read more

As a male I hate having to go shopping. Applying and removing garments over and over just to find your size horribly irks me. However they have a great selection of neckties, and suits that all run true to size so I don't even bother trying them on and they all fit perfectly when I put them on for the first time for work. I'm not an overly fancy type of guy but no slouch either. Always have a good new cologne as I cycle through one about every 6-7 months. This store looks like it should be on their list of closures. For the area in Newport Beach they're in, they really should keep it up better! The bathrooms were filthy and disgusting and looked like it may have had a child changing table at one point but it was ripped from the wall and they didn't choose to replace it or paint over it. I'm not much of a Macys shopper but the one at South Coast Plaza is so much nicer and cleaner. Macys should be ashamed to be anchored at Fashion Island with Neiman's and Bloomingdales. Those stores are beautiful and should be an example for Macys to try a little harder. read more
