I am so sorry but this Macy's is completely understaffed. The longest time spent here by far was waiting in line for someone to even acknowledge I was standing there. Some of the people at the register also appeared to have a slight language barrier, that could perhaps be why. The selection in the store was fine, I was able to find what I was looking for. Sigh...I only come to this location out of convivence.I prefer the Macy's out in Annapolis but I was in a pinch today so I didn't have time to make the drive. So backstory...I ordered these pretty Betsey Johnson earrings off of the Macy's website.Unfortunately one of the dangling earrings snapped and couldn't be fixed.So I put in for a return on the website and online customer services obliges and sends over a QR code for the sale associate to scan once I bring back the item so that I can be granted my refund.These earrings weren't cheap either. I come with the QR code and the the earrings in tow thinking that it shouldn't take no more than 5 minutes to finish everything up....I go to the jewelry counter where the young woman was standing and told her I'm here to bring an item back for a refund that I order online.She must have heard what she wanted because she kept talking about the STORE policy.I told her several times that I ordered online and that Macy's sent me a QR code for a refund.She said since the item isn't in good condition they can't take it back so I read out loud to her what the e-mail said and reiterated for the 11th billion time that I ordered it online and that Macy's customer service said I can bring back my broken item for a refund.I asked to speak to a manger because she was not making any sense! Finally a woman passes us (who I'm assuming is a manger) and the lady behind the counter says "can you please explain to her what I'm saying?" so I told the other young lady what the issue was and finally someone with some sense.She explained to the confused and stubborn employee that I have a right to my refund since I have already gotten in contact with customer service via online.The woman behind the counter was embarrassed.She escalated something that should have taken 5 minutes into a unnecessarily hostile situation.I was finally able to get my refund but I shouldn't have to pull teeth to do it! Very Horrible Customer Service. I came today looking for a cologne for my father long story short I Was in a certain section that should've been blocked off, if customers aren't allowed to be in that "area" didn't grab the lady's name but an elderly African American lady with glasses rudely told me I couldn't be there, I was just really confused the way she said it's like she wanted to start a confrontation, because there wasn't any signs nearby nor the did the worker nearby notify me that the section "isn't for customers" she just came around told me that & then left . That just made me not want to spend any money here. I came to the Macys just to go to the children's department with My child bit could not get up to the 3rd floor due to the elevators being down and me having a stroller and even the escalators were down. This is hands down the WORST Macy's I've been to. Every time I go in there it's a mess. The staff all act like your bothering them if you ask a question. Last time I went in to purchase a $200 Michael Kors clutch and the woman tried to give me one that had just been tossed in a drawer with scratches and dents.... when I asked if there were anymore I got nothing but attitude with a huff and puff before she walked off to go check the back.... rude. It's a $200 clutch... it should be in $200 condition, not looking used. Today I placed an online order for pickup TODAY (usually within 2 hours according to the website) and never heard anything from them so I figured After 5 hours I would call up there and check on it (it was only a hat and scarf set) no one ever picked up the phone. After 7 hours I went up there and again got nothing but attitude when the woman told me it wasn't ready yet. When I asked if I could go grab it myself I was told I could purchase it again at a counter and after 5 days the online charge would fall off. Um, what? I was trying to help y'all out!!! Called to find out if they had a shoe in a size that I needed and was hung up on twice. Apparently the phone is not working to transfer to Finishline from the main shoe department. Finally spoke to someone and was told they had the shoes. Traveled to this location and I don't live close. Get there and went to pick up the shoes only to find that the associate is not there. I go to the main shoe department and told the associate what I needed and she acted as though I was bothering her. I told her no one was over there to help me. She tried to call the manager on duty and he/she didn't answer. She told me I would just have to back to Finishline and just wait for the associate to return since she's not able to reach the manager. He maybe in the break room. WHAT?? It's late, the store is closing soon and I'm supposed to just wait. So rude and unprofessional. She didn't offer to try and locate another staff person to help or call someone else for help. I came here to pick up my online order. The cashier at the desk was very helpful and kind. I mean all she's doing is getting my order right? Okay I'll continue. You have the absolute worst customer service, and I will shout from here, to my consumer research panels, to facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, from the East coast to the West coast and let EVERYONE know why I will, and consequently why they should, NEVER, EVER shop at Macy*s, Macy*s.com, the BonMarche or any of your subsidiaries again! I placed an online order with Macy*s.com on December 18, 2012, (12.18.2012) so that I would receive my order before Christmas (12.25.2012). On December 19, 2012, I received an email informing me that my order had been cancelled due to certain unnamed discrepancies regarding the information provided during my order. And, that I would "receive a PROMPT refund or credit." So, I called Macy*s.com regarding this order... I was greeted by a pleasant associate, who was able to confirm with me that yes... My online order had been cancelled. When I inquired as to why my order had been cancelled I was told that Macy*s.com was unable to verify my billing address information. When I further inquired as to what this actually meant, I was told that I would be transferred to Macy*s.com consumer and credit protection department. The first associate I spoke with in this department informed me that she was fully briefed on my situation and that while she was apologetic that my order had been cancelled, it was because the telephone number on file was supposedly not verified by my financial institution. And, not only that... That Macy*s.com had attempted to contact me at that number and that I did not answer. How could that be, I asked? 1) I had not received any call or left message from anyone at Macy*s.com and 2) the information I provided when checking out is the same information that my financial institution (Citibank) has on file, including my address, telephone number and email address. When I gave the associate in the consumer credit protection department this information. She then told me that they had attempted to verify my information by calling Citibank and that an associate at Citibank told them that the number was incorrect. She insisted that it was Citibank's fault, but she then told me that she would call Citibank as a courtesy (....?) to reprocess the order that Macy*s.com had cancelled. After several minutes, and after giving her my credit cards security number, she returned to tell me that CitiBank refused to release the hold on my account to reprocess the order, and that I would have to wait 5-14 business days to receive the funds so that I could place the order again... When I informed her that these were Christmas gifts, and that the entire purpose of my order was so that I would be able to wrap and hand these out for gifts on Christmas day. I was told, that while she was sorry about the situation, I would have to wait for 5-14 business days to receive my refund before she could reprocess the order that Macy*s.com cancelled. I replied by saying that this kind of service was completely unacceptable: That my funds would be held captive, I would have no Christmas gifts as a result, and that I would be unable to make other purchases with that money as a result of doing business with Macy*s.com. I was asked if I wanted to talk with a MANAGER, there in the consumer credit protection department (ccp dept.). I replied that I would like to and was placed on hold. I spoke with a gentleman named Anthony who claimed to be a manager in your ccp dept. He also supplied me with his direct line there (4809293508) but failed to answer my calls, Citibank's calls or return our calls from the messages that were left by myself or the associates at Citibank. During our converse, Anthony also expressed that he was briefed and understood the nature of my issue, and that while he understood I needed these Christmas gifts that there was nothing he was going to do because it was supposedly my financial institutions fault. I informed him that it was Macy*s.com that made the decision to cancel my order due to supposedly wrong financial information (it was all correct and my bank did and will attest to this matter, as well) on my account. He informed me that the billing number and number at my financial institution did not match (they did), and that because Citibank refused to verify this information, I was basically S.O.L. (vernacular: Stuck out of luck). He informed me that it was absolutely normal and completely routine to cancel orders in this matter, and that Macy*s.com was well within their right to do so because I had supplied the wrong information (I did not). So, I provided him with a previous online order where I used my father's credit card but supplied my telephone number and email address, which would not have matched the billing information from the financial institution. Upon verifying my order, he informed me that it was "automatically accepted." Well, I inquired, what does that mean? It means that while that order went through automatically, my order read more

Inconsistent Customer Service: Went to purchase Estee Lauder concealer on 9/14 around 2pm. The sales associate was pleasant through her process of explaining that they didn't have my color in the new formula. Ok...no problem. She went to help another customer while I looked at other items around the counter. I decided to try some serums and moisturizers but most testers were empty. I told someone (maybe a supervisor) the testers were empty. She said ok and walked away. While I waited for her to come back, I asked for a perfume sample. I was told they don't have any samples right now. WHY DON'T YOU EVER HAVE SAMPLES MACY'S?? Needless to say...the woman never returned to change out the testers. I wasted almost 40 minutes of my time in this Macy's. When you have a products from the iconic Estee Lauder line gracing your establishment, a customer with money to spend should not walk away frustrated. On that note, I'll never return. read more

I went into this Macy's with a problem. I ordered a package online with the wrong item in the package. I went into this Macy's about a month ago and asked for a replacement. Rather than listening to my problem and looking at any system to confirm the shipping mishap. They immediately accused me of trying to steal, I was very upset and ended up speaking with customer service over the phone and was able to receive an exchange. I would love to give zero stars to the MAC counter at this location. I stood at the MAC counter for ten minutes and was never even approached by a MAC salesperson. Finally a salesperson from another fragrance counter asked me if I needed assistance. She did not return and neither did a MAC staff. I decided to leave the store and saw the salesperson from the other counter on my way out. I asked her what happened to which she replied, "Oh they are all busy doing makeup". Took my friend to pick up an online order. We went up to the counter that had "Online Order Pickup" in giant letters. No one was there, so we looked around for an employee nearby to help. We saw a gentleman sitting on a clothing display, headphones in, jamming to music. Wouldn't have known he was an employee if it weren't for the Macy's logo on his shirt. Without missing a beat (or removing his headphones) he mouthed we needed to go elsewhere in the store for assistance. On the way to the correct counter, we passed some disheveled clothing displays and reached a second empty counter. Thankfully, an employee was nearby, and came over to assist. So, second star for headphones guy for giving right directions and the lady coming over to assist. It just was a pretty different experience relative to all the other Macy's I've been to, which while is a given for PG Plaza, still isn't the best look for the chain/brand. read more

Well, that is the type of unprofessionalism that goes down at MAC. As far as the clothing section--forget about being greeted here, or simply asked if you needed help finding anything. That won't happen because the salesgirls are too busy chit -chatting on the floor!! They wouldn't even look up at the client. Yes, I have a customer service/retail background. Can you tell? My problem is they are ALLOWED to behave in this manner, so who can you blame?? HUMAN RESOURCES for hiring them, for giving the 1 hour training video, and not thoroughly training them and finally MANAGEMENT, they allow this type of BS. When I worked at Macy's 34th in NYC, we could not look at our phone on the floor, or text and once workers were spotted huddling up, chatting, a manager came over real quick to break that up and give us a task to do.
