After my previous experience at this location, I didn't think that the service could get any worse. But as George Takei would say, "Oh my!" Or as this happened at their lady's department in the perfume section, "Eau my ... " I was there shopping for a particular fragrance which my sister really likes. Now I don't usually go buy perfumes for women so I am not sure what the difference between Miracle and Miracle So Magic is but I can tell when you are trying to sell me Cool Water as Flowerbomb. But I digress ... Upon approaching the counter the lady over there just kept talking to the customer she was dealing with which is perfectly understandable but instead of saying, "I'll be with you shortly," or anything at all she just completely ignored us and went to deal with another customer who came after us. We were waiting for a good ten minutes by this point and my bf says "EXCUSE ME" to the lady at the counter and she basically rolled her eyes and walked away. At this Macy's, product selection is okay; customer service is hmmmm.....okay i guess; but the ladies room is NOT okay at all! How strange that the store does NOT have restrooms on the ground floor! FYI, if you wanna use the restrooms, go up to the next level. I visited the store on this past Saturday; before then, I went to Nordstrom. In comparison, Macy's was nothing compared to Nordstrom in all aspects. Lack of direction signs made me walk and walk and walk some more around the store to look for the stuff that i wanted to see. I saw at least 10 fitting rooms around the store but not even one restroom so I eventually had to ask somebody where the ladies room was located.....he said, "go up one floor." *argh* That was frustrating! Once i opened the door to the ladies room, whooooooaa! it was hot in there, and messy and smelled horrible! Seriously, it was dirty in there!! They might have done it that way on purpose though, so the ladies wouldn't spend an extra 10 seconds in the restrooms and would go back out to the store ASAP to continue with the shopping! hahaaa just kidding! :P but seriously, the ladies room was not pleasant. In general, I like Macy's because it always sends out coupons on top of the sales and clearance. It was only the ladies room that seemed problematic and needed to be fixed this one time. This Macys has its own set of benefits and drawbacks. Pros: -lovely staff -peaceful shopping experience (this location is never too busy) -more selection of a particular sale item (i.e. I bought an item at the other Macy's in the Galleria that was only available in two strange colors, but came to this location and was available in every color.) Cons: -Super sucky beauty department. Clinique, Elizabeth Arden, Lancome, Shisheido, Estee Lauder, and that's it. -Limited departments; they got rid of their juniors department and a few others -limited brands and items; other locations carry Joe's Jeans, True Religion, Juicy Couture, etc. This store does not. So really, the pros cancel out the cons, making this Macy's Okay... read more

I want to start off saying I typically love Macy's. This particular location and its associates are awful. at checkout I was made aware that the tag was missing on one of the dresses. I asked the associate in the Polo department if she could find it in the system using the numbers in the inside tag (I've worked retail before- it's not hard.) and she refused, saying it wasn't her section. After being sent to Juniors, the associate there complained she didn't even work in that section and refused to help. At that point I walked around looking for a manager, and found one associate in Fragrance. Politely asked her for a manager and she was unnecessarily rude and condescending. 40 minutes of asking for help and long story short, I left the dress and never even got a manager. Incredible that an entire floor of staff members were useless and downright rude. @ the hiring managers; do better. read more

I called Customer Service to arrange for the credit balance posted on my account to be sent to me. I asked for the money to be sent to my checking account on file, which is linked to my Macys credit card. The same account that I use to pay my account each month. They asked for my name, address, phone number, last 4 of social security, and then they wanted my checking account routing number and account number. I provided all the information, except my banking info. I draw the line there. There was no need, in this particular circumstance, to provide that information because I did not ask for the money to be sent to a different bank account or a different address. Nothing shady. I am fed up with giving out all of my personal data to these overseas "customer service" reps. This practice is exactly how theft of person and financial scams occur. I am done with Macy's and their subpar, foreign "customer service" that they provide. The reps know 1 script and they cannot deviate from it because they are not proficient with American customs or the English language consequently, THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE PROVIDED. read more

I visited this location over the weekend specifically to shop for formal dresses for my mom to wear for my wedding. They were having some sort of sale on dresses, although we steered clear of the clearance racks because they were in complete disarray. There are two fitting rooms in the vicinity of the formal dresses and not one attendant in either. I didn't see a salesperson once, for general assistance either. We moved on to the shoe department and once again, the sales section was so disorganized, we didn't even bother. I was interested in a very specific shoe, and the salesperson on the floor was very pushy. You could tell he was just looking into locking in the sale and getting you out of his way. read more

Worst experience ever! Went shopping in the RL woman's department looking for outfits for special upcoming events. The clerk made me feel very uncomfortable, she had no polite demeanor, and asked if everything was ok? I responded yes, mam thank you is everything ok with you? she continued to follow me around very up close and personal. I made eye contact with her a few times as I only had a small coach backpack and was wearing a pink polo shirt with my business logo on it! No way I was doing anything other than shopping there...and so I moved on to a different department because she was so distracting and unpleasant that her energy was so ugly. Not even 5 minutes later and all of a sudden, there was a heavy white man following me around like a CREEPER or was profiling me. In every department I turned to 3-4 clerks were joking around and staring at me they were joking around talking amongst themselves (not working). Very distracting and weird since most of the time Macy's seems understaffed and unorganized. This was my worst experience ever!! Do not recommend this location. Never encountered this experience before at a Macy's. I am very loyal, however, maybe it's time to move my business to Dillard's and upgrade my shopping experience. People need to learn to be kind, they don't know what some people are going through... they gave me so much anxiety and traumatized my shopping experience which is so unusual for me. But with so much hate in this world, they need to take it easy on their profiling and just ask a customer if they can be helpful. Had they asked me, they would have known I was shopping for events and left me alone but instead, they made it ridiculously awkward the heavy white male shopping for hot pink woman's shirts was insane and stupid!! Full disclosure, I'm a self admitted Nordys addict. There, now that we have established that data point, I recently went into the Macy's in the galleria in search of suit options for my wedding party. Long story short, we are getting married in the Canadian Rockies this summer and feel like suits would look more appropriate than tuxedos. Macy's had some decent brands online and good sale prices, so I decided to take a look at their galleria location. First of all, the layout isn't very organized. Instead of having all the suits in one area arranged by size, they are all over the place, by designer. This may sound like no big deal, but it causes way too much back and forth. The icing on the cake is that so many of the sizes shown on the hangers don't match the actual size of the suit that the floor salesman told me "oh you can't rely on those, you have to look at the tags". Ohhhhhhh so that explains why I almost split a jacket like Chris Farley. It's a 40s not a 44r.....whyyyyyyyy Speaking of the floor salesman, let's just say he wasn't much help. I told him what I was looking, yet I was the one that found all the options. He didn't even bring over a single suggestion. Once I narrowed it down to three suits after digging through racks looking at tags, I asked for a change room....ALERT! The change room was a disaster. There were so many pins on the floor, I felt like was dancing in a room full of porcupines. Oh and I think they had the heat on high. Perf... At the end of the day, I did get a suit that looks promising. I ordered another online that wasn't in the store, which I plan to do in the future rather than going into that place again. No one starts hating people until they get their first job. It's usually in retail and it makes you want to pick your eyeballs out with a fork. I can only imagine working in the shoe department of a retail store is the worst kind of retail hell--smelly feet, bitchy women, and mismatched pairs for days. Because I understand how horrific this job must be I always try to be "that customer:" the awesome one that empathizes with you, is extremely patient, and jokes with you about how shitty your job really is. So here I am at Macy's, minding my own business in shoe hell looking at the clearance boots and up walks Ashley, shoe hell worker bee. She's tall with a bad ass haircut and chill demeanor. I like her immediately. We talk about the boot I have in my hand and I ask if they have it in a smaller size. She uses her Telxon and says yep and heads to find it. Now, clearance shoe shopping is not like normal shoe shopping. During the clearance events they set up racks and racks of shoes but not pairs of shoes, just one at a time. You find a shoe that you like and pray they can find the box with the partner shoe in it so you can buy them. Ashley brings back the box with the size I wanted, but it's only got one shoe in it, poor girl has to go on a scavenger hunt for the other one because it isn't on the rack with the others, oh no, it's somewhere back in the warehouse AKA shoe hell limbo. Ashley put on her game face and emerges from the bowels of Macy's shoe warehouse ten minutes later with my other boot. My response to her? "That's some baby jesus kind of magic right there!" These boots were a STEAL so she made my night going above and beyond the call of duty. I told her I'd write her a yelp review and here it is. Get down with your bad self, Ashley! read more

I love Macy's. This is one of the few department stores I actually shop at. Most department stores are over priced. Macy's is over priced also BUT they have A LOT of sales. With their sales you can actually get some deals. I have bought all of the colors of lacoste towels and all of the polo bedding sets. They were the best investment I ever made. With Macy's sales I was able to get high quality stuff for the same prices as target. read more

When we were waiting in line to buy our things, it took forever because the two cashiers in charge were incredibly slow and didn't seem to pay attention to the line of impatient customers in front of them. We asked if they had an extra bag after our purchase and one of the employees just looked at us like it was the most difficult and confusing request she's ever had to comprehend. This Macy's has fantastic customer service. All the employees we dealt with went above and beyond, and were energetic and cheerful while doing so! My husband and I went there earlier this week to look for a bed-in-a-bag set we had seen for sale online. The Macy's on the other side of the Galleria had the set, but in the wrong size. We were about to go home and just order it online when the employee who was helping us came over with a list of other local stores that carried it! One of the stores was this Macy's, so we walked over. We found the set, but priced at $100. My husband said "oh, ok, it was on sale online for $59 so we'll just order it I guess". The woman helping us said she would take a look and ended up confirming the online price and giving us the discount in-store. read more

I had been to Macy's a month earlier on a trip and there was this wicked hot pink Marc Jacobs bag I saw, but it was my last day and I didn't feel like buying something else, having to pack it etc etc. So I moved on. But I kept thinking of this bag, so when I was down again I decided to take a look. Trying to find someone was a challenge, when I did, I asked her about it. She said this location didn't sell Marc Jacobs, I told her I had found a purse, she said it must have been a return from another store and walked away. Let me just preface this review by saying I shop at Macy's A LOT. I hardly ever go to the Galleria because of traffic and the service is so inconsistent. Today was one of those days. Went in to return a dress hat had a bum zipper ( couldn't even get it to unzip to try on). Had my receipt so thought I'd make a quick run into to return or exchange it. At the register the clerk stated that she couldn't return it because the store has a new policy where they wouldn't take back damaged clothes. Mind you the clerk never examined the dress, but rattle of that this was policy and there was nothing she could do. "Yeah, sorry", she said. I asked for directions to customer service at which point the clerk called another person over who told her to call the manager. She did and very quickly the manager 'approved' her to take it back. Obviously annoyed. I just wanted to get out of there, but ofcourse she wanted to tell me about the last lady who brought in a damaged item. Going to follow up with Macy's directly because if this is there new policy they can count me out as a customer. I went there during the sale this weekend. The parking was awful... including one stupid lady in a BMW quickly darting into a space that I was waiting to pull in after a person pulled out. As for the shopping, it was equally as dismal. The selection at this store was horrid (both in looks and number of choices) and the cashiers were pretty incompetent. The only reason that I gave it 2 instead of 1 is because one of the floor staff went to get me a pair of dress pants in my size from the back that were not on the rack. My husband and I aren't always lucky at this Macy's, but I have to say, when we are, it's like hitting the jackpot! We have found $50 Calvin Klein ties on multiple occasions for $15 and $17. It's gotten to the point where even when we find them for $35, we pass on the sale, knowing that a better one will come, and it always does. Tip: Take advantage of the pricechecker. Sometimes, even when marked a sales price, the ties and other items come up way cheaper, for no apparent reason. (Just be grateful!) I once found a $100 pair of peek-a-boo toe patent leather pumps on sale for $60, and it was the last pair of the shoe there, and it was in my size. Do you know how hard it is to find cute shoes on sale in a 51/2? Just sayin'! It's hard. Both of my suits are from there. Two year ago, just before graduating college, I found a $300 super cute skirt suit on sale for $100. Then, a couple weeks ago, I happened to find a $300 pant suit on sale for $120! Could not pass it up! My favorite time to go is Saturday mornings around 9:00AM. At that time, the mall isn't crowded yet, and we can usually find a parking spot on the first level of the garage right across the street. I also like the morning because the staff is really great at that time. Lots of people offer to help, and in general, everyone is very pleasant. I have also come at that same time in the mornings to return items. My husband and I have a terrible time finding clothes (He's 6'4" and I'm 5'0" .), and often have to shop online in order to avoid the horrible experience that is mall shopping for us. It's great that some places, including this Macy's, have convenient return policies. It eases the "What if it doesn't fit" anxiety, knowing we can take the item back easily if needed. The Verdict: This store is a treasure hunt. Even though 80 percent of the time I leave empty-handed, when I do happen to find what I need, it's like winning the lottery! read more

More and more, I feel like Macy's is just a huge self-service box with lots of stuff. Shopped 3 times in the past week, looking for certain items. Finding an employee to actually HELP you...well, this seems to be a huge issue. In the ladies accessories department, I was actually looking for a specific item I'd seen online. Oh, there were employees there, but not one looked up from their phone conversation, their conversations with each other, or their "important paperwork". One manager-type person was giving all sorts of direction to some employees; seemed they couldn't be bothered to ask me if I was finding what I was looking for. Mind you, this was during the day and I was one of the only customers in the store. Same thing happened in the men's department. Looking for a specific item, I kept walking around, looking, walking around again, looking. Again, the employees never looked up at me. Several times, I'd ask an employee to help direct me. I got a lot of "Over there". When I finally did find the item in question, getting someone to take my money was another task. Walking from one register to the next, finally asking someone....can I please pay for this??? I felt like just leaving some cash and walking away. Three stars instead of two because I actually did find items I wanted to buy. And buy I did. read more

Macy's is an old dinosaur that won't change a phone order within 30 minutes of ordering because of an error in shipping address. They would rather it go out in error. I called wishing the 30 minute "time allowed" but was out on on for over 30 minutes. So I couldn't report the error. I couldn't do it online. I won't shop with them anymore read more

We loaded up at Macy's on our last visit. It is just a little bit down from Nordstrom and the second store that we hit on our shopping excursion. Luckily they were having a good sale in the men's dept. here in honor of Father's Day. I ended up purchasing a few shirts, flip flops, and Nike shoes from here. The staff was very friendly and we were pleasantly surprised with the 25% discount we received on top of everything. Even what was already marked down was marked down again. My wife found some items that she liked here as well. By the time we left, we were carrying 3-4 bags from this store. I will definitely be back to load up on the great savings at this location. They have way better pricing than some of the other stores in the area. read more
