I usually prefer Nordstroms or Dillards. I think they have nicer stuff and are more organized and have better service. However, I recently discovered that Macy's has a plus-sized juniors department. I have finally found someplace where I can get mainstream designer jeans (Tommy Hilfiger, Levis, even Seven) in a size large enough to fit my big ol' booty. Hooray! Like most Macy's with the exception of the one in nyc, Macy's is an upgraded J.C. Penney's with great sales, fashions, and friendly staff. I gotta admit most of my wardrobe has been bought at Macy's all due to great weekly sales and phenomenal holiday sales. It's my go to department store and a recommendation for many. =) read more

DON'T TRUST THE JEWELRY DEPARTMENT!!! I dropped my ring off at the end of December and they said it would be back at the beginning of January, they even gave me a specific date to pick it up. I came in a day early to see what the status was. They first off lost my ring, two told me they couldn't help me until three days later, and three said they'd call me back the next day after I got the manager involved and never did, and four when they did call me almost a month after I sent it out they didn't do any of the work I asked for! My ring was only cleaned even, though I didn't ask for it, not sized and the replacement stone was cheap not of the same quality as the rest!! The manager I worked with was nice but I will never trust the jewelry department with my fixes even after having the warranty!!! read more

I went to Macy's last Thursday night to pick up a dress I ordered online for my sons wedding. Duhaha Who is at your service department was very pleasant and made small talk with me as she was checking me out she even open the dress and put it on a hanger and into a dress bag and showed me where I can try it on. My mother and my sister were telling me to get a bigger size because I was very fitted around the stomach. I wanted a different opinion so I went to ask her when I walked over to the department before I could say anything she told me it looked amazing in the dress I asked her what she thinks about the fitting she told me was very nice and very well fitted I told her that maybe if I can get a bigger size she told me that it would be really baggy and she was right because I ordered a bigger one just to see how It would be. Today I return the big one and went with the original one I had bought, and when she saw me walking towards the counter she remembered me and waved at me. She's a very sweet girl! read more

Absolutely the worst customer service and I wasn't even in the store! Wife bought a Kuerig 30 days ago and it failed last week. I call the number on the receipt to ask about warranties but when you call you get a robot asking for prompts to wedding registry and other prompts to track packages but no store directory. Second attempt was to look up the store online and calling that number. I go thru all the hoops of trying to talk to a person and finally someone answers! Great right? She transfers my call to housewares and the phone picks up but there's no "hello may I help you?" Nope,nothing just background noise of the cashier helping other people. Idle chit chat while I'm saying HELLO! After the second customer served I'm as loud as I can be HELLO!!!!! I can hear myself on his phone!! This housewares dude for some reason absolutely ignored me, why answer the gd phone then??? To keep it from ringing?? Third and final attempt was to call again and find somebody that I can talk to about this loser in housewares. How did I do it? There was a prompt for employees to call in sick so I pressed 4 an lo and behold a real person! Never did catch her job title and hoped she was a supervisor but I told her the story of how all I want is an answer to the age old question of refunds and how to get one. She knew I was pissed and I reminded her that it's not her fault but Macy's pos phone system and a lazy housewares dude. So in conclusion Macy's will take it back only if it's in "saleable" condition, her words exactly. If you buy something at Macy's make sure you save all packaging and lie to them that the coffee maker works, you just don't like the color or save yourself the hassle and go shopping somewhere else and let Macy's go out of business. read more

They didn't have dishes in stock...so was thorough showing us everything online ! we want the next set to last longer than those box sets that we last bought! I purchased four Martha Stewart pillows that were onsale. The petite older woman with blonde hair who checked us out was not wearing a name tag, nor was her name on the receipt. She was rude and passive agressive from the get go. She was operating a register in the mens department. My fiance and I decided to find her register due to a few longer lines at the homegoods registers and we had other people waiting on us for lunch that finally arrived. Upon finding her at the registsr I asked out "Are you free?" To which she continued to finish her sip of water and did not acknowledge me. I walked aroynd to the front of her register and she dis not look me in they eye and about a beat later she asked "There was no one available in 'home'?" with a odd tone. I stated the long lines and she replied rather passive agressively "Well that is the same at any store. You just have to be patient." To which both my fiance and I exchange glances but didnt respond. I thought to myself "is it not okay to go to any open register? What if we found the pillows and browsed and ended up in the men's department by wandering?" She asked and I gave an honest answer but I was not complaining, the other patrons had larger purchases and I was only carrying 4 pillows. Later during the transaction she huffed and puffed and said "I don't have any large bags". My fiance said it was fine and it was no bother. All throughout the transaction she never looked us in the eye, she had a sour disposition, and the experience was unsavory to say the least. Walking out of the store and into the parking lot we could not stop talking about how that made us feel and how she was totally rude for no reason at all. read more

I was out looking for a dress coat to create an inexpensive suit. Stopped at Men's Wearhouse, Dillard's then finally Macy's. The first person to see if they could help me realized they were going to have to spend time with me and actually do something while at work. He has zero service skills. Then while I was looking at coats Sue came over and helped me, she was tremendously helpful spent about a half an hour from initial contact to checkout and I bought a coat, pants and shoes. She was fantastic and helped get a great match for my pieced together suit! Now, to go back to Steve he took my coat and pants while Sue was helping me with shoes and put them back on the rack! We found it all then while Sue was checking me out another shopper came over and said "do you know where the clothes are I put right here?" Steve! Did you put this guys stuff away too?! Apparently, Steve has his place! He's very efficient about restocking!! LOL! read more

I have gone to this Macy's since they opened. They always seem to have something on sale and they let you shop without pestering you. As to the unmanned registers...that's kinda what I love - a peaceful, quiet shopping experience with great bargains to be found everywhere. Those of us who know this store know where every register is. Nobody in the Juniors department, head next door to Women's dresses (they have swim wear here during the summer and coats during the winter). There is always someone in the back Plus Size Dept. The regular size side has about 4 registers ... just keep walking - there are always a couple of them manned, I love the casual, shop till you drop without bother vibe here. read more

I always receive great service in tbe women's shoe department. Yesterday Teddy assisted me, today Sean assited me. Both made sure I was totally satisfied with my boot selection, however I was not. So Teaddy told me NP return the pair of Michael Kor boots, to receive a full refund. Today Sean assisted me provided me options to several boots, I did select one. Store very dirty. Damaged merchandise put back on shelves. Not one person has offered to help me during my last three visits. Nobody can seem to find a manager. Exchanges take 15 minutes. Checking out is a process since all employees seem to have not been trained on software. NOTHING like other Macy's. This feels like an outlet, but with normal prices. Stop by Chandler Macy's today on Mother's Day to return a couple items that didn't work out for me. The first lady Judy Grothe was completely unhelpful and incompetent in helping me on with thr return. She called over the manager ((JAMES BODY)) and in all my thirty years of shopping retail I don't think I've met more of a rude, inconsiderate and mean store manager in all my life. He would not help me and actually walked away from me when I was explaining what was happening to take a call. Rude rude and horrible customer service. Awesome customer service! Specifically at women's finish line. A gentlemen named Avery helped us out with a return and helped us find the right shoes at a different store and order it from them. Avery was extremely polite (10 times more polite than the manager), extremely attentive, and helpful to MULTIPLE customers while assisting me with a pretty extensive issue. He was so awesome! Perfect example of how customer service should be done. It was a very refreshing experience. read more

Love the sales but there is never enough employees to help. Sometimes the store is open later then the mall which is the best time to shop because no one is on the store. Combine sale prices with coupons plus a liberal return policy and you can't go wrong. read more

12/3/16- we went to return sheets that had a tear in them and while we were very upset with the wait for Brandy (the only manager on duty in textiles it seemed) we are extremely pleased with how she handled our issue and our temper (it was a very long day). I live right behind the mall and often shop in-store and online. One time, after I finished shopping and about to leave the store the alarm went off. I stood around and no one came to check the security for me. The girls at the cosmetic department were just hanging around. I had my 2 year old sitting in a $20 stroller with Macys shopping bags on one handle, and the other handle has my open tote w/ no zipper. No one is approaching, so I had to do it myself, $260 worth of cheap clothes so there were 12-15 items, I forgot. After I checked and made sure no security tags I proceed to leave the store. As I was leaving an associate came and stopped me and wanted to check my bags. I told her I checked already and I'm ok. She insisted on going through my bags just to make sure. I told her I have to go pick up my daughter as it was approaching 2:30. She said that it's policy and insinuated that I have unpaid items. I got frustrated because I stood around and had to do the security work myself and no one helped for like 2-3 minutes and now this?? I was so mad I told her to take everything back bc I have to leave. This associate knew I was in a hurry and dragged the procedure. I used to work for department stores and I'm positively sure that when the alarm goes off, all associates are to be alerted and proceed to the help with shoppers' bags. After the incidence, I called the store and explained the whole situation. I'm pretty sure they reviewed the cameras and sent me two $25 gift certificate. I went to get shoes for my daughter. No one in the tennis shoe department. The two young men in the other department looked right at me and no response until I actually asked for help when the one I was talking to turned and asked another woman if she needed help. He then went to get my daughter her shoe and disappeared. Another guy reappeared and I flagged him down he had our shoes. He rang us up but when I got home I noticed the price on the box was $5 cheaper then what we were charged. I called and was given a song and dance about those were the old boxes and they have never charged that little for the shoes. Hmmm, I thought what the product was marked a store had to sell it for that price, I won't be back. All other employees were so rude or non existent, no wonder Fiesta Mall went out of business. read more

Macy's usually has a good selection of products. I would prefer they eliminate the membership gimmicks and coupons and buy so many dollars and get reward dollars back on a card. You have to return to spend it. It is quite an unconvince if you get behind someone dickering over his/her discounts. Just give a good, fair price and save us all a headache. read more

Why does Macy's advertising campaign "Code Red" (wear red), for an Extra 25% off, if they fail to notify all their cashiers??? During this promotion on Feb. 6/16, a female cashier on the 2nd floor of Macy's Chandler Mall confirmed that wearing red would get me an additional 25% off on the purchase of a frying pan. Since I was wearing red, she replied, "Yes, it will, you're a lucky lady." A few minutes later I returned with the item, but she had been replaced by a male cashier, who refused the discount. He said it only applied to the "home store." Since we are in Phoenix renting until March 5th, I was looking for a frying pan, coffee maker and a backpack but I left without making any purchases and will not be returning! read more

i would not shop at this place. on december 21, 2014, my family and i went to macy's at the chandler fashion square mall to christmas shop. and the whole shopping visit was a disaster!! first thr ladys at the cash register we rude and not help full. bad customer service period. so we proceed to the customer service for help which the lady was very help full and patient, i asked her how to check my available credit limit on my credit card and she called customer service to check and the response was macy's took away my credit limit of 700. because there was no payment history. and they decreased my credit limit to 100. cause i haven't used my credit card with in 1 year from the time i open up an account. this whole call to customer service took about 1 hour. so there for i couldn't shop for christmas. at macy's. then, we decided to leave as we were leaving macys , i slipped on water that was on the floor , i let the same rude lady's know because we were close to thier register, they just look at us and didn't ask if i was ok they didnt even come to us to clean up the mess. i called macy's and reported it. my right knee started hurting from a pulled muscle, they offer to give me up to 250.00 to cover medical expenses wow, now anyone that goes to a doctor knows very well it cost more than that just for xrays then the accident agent offered either 100. gift card to macy's or 250.00 toward doctor and if it cost more than 250.00 i would have to pay for it. now why would i go back to macy's to spent a gift card after my experience. they could've took care of all my medical cost and lost of time from work to see the doctor. at the end i fell that macys is a well established business so they didnt want to pit forth no efforts toward me as a customer. read more
