This macys is absolutely horrendous. I was in the Coach section, looking at this cheetah print scarf. I wanted to try it on and I hear a voice from behind me saying "you can't do that". The employee's reasoning was that "because it's designer". Why the fuck are the scarfs there then? I am so tired of having to go to the mall every time I need to smell a fragrance on a stupid piece of paper. This is my fourth trip to the mall leaving with a headache and no new perfume-- that is until Nordstrom. I kept making the mistake of going to sephora and spritzing smelling spritzing smelling until they all started to blend together or a really nasty smelling one takes over. I finally thought since I know sephora is insanely stingy with their samples a department store would definitely help me out and give me two samples of perfume i've been between but really could not choose between because I was in smell overload, boy was I WRONG. Asked if they had Born in Roma and J'adore Dior because I want to switch up from Chance, Daisy, and Tory Burch...they both smiled and said no. one walked away and the other said "you want a sample that's close? and spritzed the most awful smelling perfume that was probably cheaper. I guess they're more than happy to give out those than ones that will get them a sale. Took my unfortunate headache over to Nordstrom and explained what I've been through with Sephora and Macys and they happily gave me the two samples I was looking for plus two that they thought would also compliment what I wear under. Going into the ladies room there is no toilet tissue and one of the toilets in the bathroom just kept running and running and the sink water won't shut off. Under no circumstances will I ever get a Macy's credit card again. My credit score is fantastic, it still is but I had to pay for something I didn't buy. They offered me a card to get discounts that day, I used the card and when the bill came I paid in full and cancelled card. Well, someone got my information and used my card number to buy kids clothes over $500. I get harassed saying I need to pay it and I reported it as stolen. They investigated and informed me I had to pay. I called my lawyer because I felt I shouldn't pay what I didn't use, my lawyer informed me that paying the bill is easier than going through the hassle of lawyers and court. STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!! You cannot call and speak to a person, you go to the store to speak to someone and they tell you to go pick up the phone and speak to someone from another country that doesn't speak or understand English. You cannot speak to anyone face to face. They made a decision without even checking it out I had never shopped at the store I was charged from and I never bought kids clothing. I was being harassed every other day to pay, even during investigation to pay the bill I didn't spend. Macy's is broke and going to go out of business. No customer service. Average time for call is two hours for customer service. This isn't our parents Macy's. This is a classic tale of an end of an era. Don't go near this place as they have no morals and are bankrupt. Its really hard to navigate when there are random shoes, plastic wrap, and boxes everywhere. Since its so busy, the service is hardly any good. In the past two weeks I have been shopping for prom dresses in three different Macy's: Galleria Mall, Coral Springs Mall, and here in Boca Mall and this store was the one where we finally said yes to the dress. I first saw what was to become the dress in Coral Springs but they were sold out every size except 2. From there we spent hours going through Galleria mall without finding anything. Finally the prom is tonight so last night was do or die time. We headed up to Boca Mall and started with Macy's. Since prom season is almost over they were having a nice sale on the dresses. Most were at least 20% off and some were even 40%. They still had a nice selection of dresses in various sizes unlike Coral Springs which only had very small or very large sizes left. They even had a full rack of the white dress that first drew my eye at Coral springs. It's price was a little higher than what I wanted to spend but the discount brought the price right in line with my budget. The only problem left was to convince my Hot Topic, black, Dr. Marten's, punk loving daughter to ditch the darkness and find her inner Disney princess for a night. I let her try out all of the black dresses she wanted and then she tried on the white dress I first spotted weeks ago. It was so beautiful and perfect on her. It is unlike anything she would have picked out and she looks like a princess in it. It even went perfectly with the shoes I found at Payless the other day. She fell in love with it despite her inclination not to, score one for mom. Best of all I opened a Macy's charge account when checking out and go another 20% off resulting in a $65 total savings on the dress making the perfect dress that much more perfect. I asked about the return policy when checking out in case we found something else in the mall and the sales person told me it was a very generous full year as long as the tags were still attached. I didn't even need the paper receipt, they could just scan he tags for the return. The Boca Mall is very upscale and this store reflects that. Even though they charge the same price as other Macy's this store just seems more high end like the mall it is in. I also appreciate that unlike some stores Macy's just let's you try on as much as you want with out being limited to how much you can take in a dressing room at a time. Being told I can only take in so many items at a time is a real turn off for me. If I needed a special event dress in the future this would be the first store I would go to. read more

Most horrific experience today. There was barely anyone working. Had to wait in a long line to check out and if that wasn't bad enough the staff had the worst attitude! I wanted to buy a white jacket on last act that was priced 70% off at 23.78. Cashier looks at it and tells me she can't honor that price. After stating my case she finally agreed to look for another, they had 3 more. She made me walk around the entire store to find another one. Finally agreed to honor the price and then "couldn't take the sensor off" any of the items and couldn't sell me the item. She was spiteful and didn't want to sell me the item. Never have I been disrespected so bad in my life. I use to love Macy's. But now I see they only hire cheap labor and charge high end prices. read more

Got excellent service that I haven't seen for a long time, from associate, Karen, in bath and bedding department. I had to replace towels and a bath rug, due to storm damage, and Karen was so knowledgeable, efficient, and went above and beyond what most employees in general would do. For example, I had grabbed a bath mat instead of a hand towel (they were similar in appearance). Karen asked if that's what I wanted, and when I said no, she went to grab me the correct towel. When I couldn't find the color I wanted outside, she went to the back and grabbed a bunch of possible outcomes. Macy's also had some great deals for their one-day sale. This Macy's is absolutely disgusting. If you're a lady, and need to use the bathroom, go find somewhere else to do your business. After a long day of shopping, I had to use the bathroom. First of all, as soon as you walk into the restroom on the first floor, it smells like the New York City Subway station; a mix of garbage and pee. I walked into the only empty stall only to find no toilet paper, and used pads and tampons and diapers on the floor, and in the stall cavity where a garbage can should be. I immediately walked out and waited for a new stall. This one too was disgusting, there was pee all over the seats and on the floor. So I waited for yet another stall. Finally I got a semi-clean stall with toilet paper and as I'm finishing up my business, someone pushed in the door, which goes to show you how flimsy the stall locks are. Macy's... if you really value your customers, you should keep a bathroom attendant on, or you should get with the rest of the mall department stores, and get rid of the stalls and make small rooms instead. read more

Good place to shop but very hit or miss. I like Macy's in general but I find that the prices are sometimes just too high. I know that they have excellent quality in their products and many of their things are just stunning but I still think the price can be brought down a bit. Highlight: this is probs one of the nicest Macy's that I've gone to. A lot of Macys found in suburbia are going downhill land tend to carry more mid tier clothing like Style and Co and clothes that are more frumpy and not as fashionable. This Macy's feels like a higher end Macys and carries lines like Rachel Roy, Free People, Bar III that other Macy's usually does not. Prices are a little higher here, but if you come to the Last Act section, you'll find a lot of hidden gems. Fun fact, if you have a phone number or email, your receipt goes there so that if you come back to return items, don't fret if you don't find a paper receipt b/c they will just scan the receipt on your phone and it goes back to your card. I've gotten a lot of compliments for my clothing, and to be honest, my tip is to come at 10:00 a.m. on the weekends when the store just opens so that eveyrthing is still organized and before the crazy crowds come at noon and mess everything up and then you can't get a dressing room and can't find specific clothing. I'm petite and size 0, so I already have a difficult time finding clothing. I'm really meant for Nordstrom clothing, but Maison Jules, Rachel Roy, Bar III are made for smaller people like me, but I have to go super early. Anything past noon, I don't even attempt to go shopping here b/c messy, clothes strew all over, and selection is worse. Tip, so, these clothing attendants actually make a commission. They will be pretty territorial with customers they are already assisting and it's nice that each attendant is respectful of this rule so they don't snatch customers from each other. But keep that in mind, and you'll have pleasant treatment by your same attendant if you keep going back to them. Make up: To be honest, I 've always thought the makeup attendants and make up at Macy's is too crude. Everyone has overly done lips, heavy eyes, and too much contour. I am not sure if it's b/c the brands here are cheaper or if the people are less skilled, but if you're going for a professional, natural, higher end look, then I don't recommend Macy's. Just looking at everyone's make up behind the counters makes me feel like I'm in a cheap place b/c of how gaudy it looks- kind of like Ulta or Sephora where people look like they are going on stage to perform. They carry Lancome and Clinique, but honestly these are very harsh brands on the skin. I recommend more natural items if you have the money at Nordstrom. read more

I have been shopping at Macy's forever. Some stores I don't like because of the location, inventory, salespeople etc. I have always had good luck in the Boca store. Since this Macy's is in the mall and this mall is always busy, I find it easiest to valet park. Parking is a pain, so I happily pay the valet to make my day easier. Less stress... I love the shoe department! I never have problems finding my size or what I am looking for. They also get new inventory all the time. The makeup and perfume counters are my favorite. Not crazy about all the "perfume ladies " who can't wait to spray you because most of the perfumes give me a migraine. But these ladies are in most department stores and I have learned to say no and quickly walk away. This store is clean and organized. The sales associates tend to be around when I need them but otherwise they don't bother me. I really appreciate that. Nothing worse than pushy associates. In this store I can walk around and take my time without feeling like I am being watched. I am not a mall person by any means. In fact I stay away from most malls if I can. I usually valet my car and walk over to the Macy's entrance which is conveniently very close to the main entrance. My one complaint is that they tend to open a few minutes late on Sunday. On two separate occasions they opened five minutes late while we waited for them to open the door. Not the end of the world but definitely annoying. Don't forget to check out the clearance racks. It is very high quality shaving creams, lotions, shavers, brushes, shaving soap, pre-shaving oil--- everything you need for a beautiful shave at a reasonable price. You can find designer suits and clothes of all types at fantastic deals. They also have men's aftershave lotion, women's purses, wallets,and make-up and cosmetics. I love going to Macy's no matter what time of year. You never know when you may run into Santa Claus, my favorite person who will give you tips on where to get the best deals in or out of Town Center Boca! read more

Just your average department store. I placed some online orders recently and stopped in during my lunch hour to pick them up. I followed the instructions on my email to the appropriate counter and waited, as the lady behind the counter was on the phone. Soon, someone else came and stood behind me, holding a package that had been mailed to her. We stood there waiting, and a second employee walked over to the second register a few minutes later. He offered the person behind me assistance in returning her item. The first employee was still on the phone taking care of something, which I totally understand. However, I was annoyed that someone came over to take over the line and completely skipped me. Sure, the person behind me had a kid with her, but it was still rude to not at least ask if I minded her being assisted first. I went over to another counter, where there was a customer having her stuff rung up. However, the customer's friend was looking at a nearby rack, talking about whether or not they liked some of those items. It seems like it would have been more efficient if they decided what they wanted before going to the register, instead of holding it up in this manner...but it didn't seem to bother them. While I waited, I just called the customer service number of my email receipt to ask if there's a specific counter dedicated to online orders. The person on the phone didn't know the specific layout of the store in Boca, but told me I was in the right section. So, I thanked her and went back to the first counter where the employee that was on the phone now had a spare moment. She subsequently helped me grab my items from their storage area and I was out the door. What I had planned to be a 15 min pickup ended up taking nearly an hour. I guess the take-home message would be that there's not much time saved in purchasing things online and having them shipped to the store, as the pickup process will likely be much longer than anticipated. And if you still do choose to buy online and pick up in store, go after work instead of during your lunch hour. read more

I understand not being allowed to go in but not even stand outside the stall? Come on how are they supposed to know of something looks good or not? This location is older and it's hit and miss with the different departments. The mattress selection was smaller than other Macy stores, and only one salesman on a Saturday afternoon. But, the Coach bag selection was huge. We bought a Coach bag and it actually qualified for a 30% off for Friends and Family. The prices are completely out of whack considering the deals you can get online and in other shops. They charge a premium for everything (even unheralded brands) and their sales are often not a great deal. If you're browsing here, do a quick price cross reference with Amazon or Jet and you'll see, time and time again, that you're just pissing money away when you shop here. Still, I can't tell you how many times Macy's has saved me when I've needed a suit and dress shoes in a pinch. I routinely wait for the last minute when I have an event to attend, then I have to scramble to find fancy gentleman's clothing. Macy's always has what I'm looking for; I can easily find a suit within minutes and they even have a nice selection of wide width shoes for my horrendous feet. Can't beat that. read more

Chapter six in my search for a new mattress. Since I've been writing about my search for a new mattress several friends have asked me if I've checked Macy's. I shop at Macy's all the time. I've been in their mattress department several times. The last time I went was after seeing a big pull out add in the newspaper. I went to the third floor, newspaper in hand, and asked to see the mattresses that were on sale. It's always the same story. I'm taken over to a little, sad looking, single mattress stuck behind all the big glitzy mattresses. Then the salesman asks me if it's for me. When I say yes he tells me that the mattress would be good for a guest room, but it wouldn't be any good for daily use. Then I'm lead over to the, "good", mattresses which are attractive, comfortable, expensive. I've been told that Macy's stands behind their mattresses and that's probably worth paying extra, but not that much extra. It's hard to compare mattress prices because the same mattress will have a different name in different stores. With some research on the internet you should be able to figure it out. read more

I am horrified at the total lack of service and shocking customer support which I have received since arriving in the USA 5 months ago. I have purchased a lot of my furniture for our new home which turned out to be a complete nightmare. We had no beds for over two months due to the complications with the stock - once the beds for my sons eventually arrived they had the completely wrong slats resulting in a further three week delay. No apologies, no explanation .. we just had to accept the fact that they had delivered the incorrect parts and we had to wait. Eventually they arrived. Next horror was with the online shopping - we had ordered a Christmas gift which was supposed to be collected in store. On arriving they could not find the stock item. I was told to order it online while in store - due tot the fact that I really wanted the item I agreed to wait til the next week (which is when it was supposed to arrive) and I ordered it. To my horror it was delivered to the incorrect address and returned to sender. I have had multiple deliveries made to my new address to I have no idea how they got to mixed up and sent to a precious address??? After many attempts I eventually managed to redirect the item to the correct address. Sigh - I hope it arrives .. fingers crossed. I have recently received a message with regards to me being charged storage costs for furniture which I have already received. Turns out the sales consultant never closed off the previous order of the incorrect slats for our beds... the nightmare continues. Quite alarming and shocking down such a massive organization. Macy's is one of my favorite department stores and the one at the Town Center Mall in Boca happens to be one of my favorite locations! I went in today with Mom, as we wanted to take advantage of their Friends and Family Sale, which yielded 30% off or more on many goods throughout the store. This Macy's is one of my favorite store thanks to its wide selection of goods, pleasant atmosphere, decent and sometimes much better than average pricing, and excellent service, exceeding other Macy's I have shopped in like ones in New York (other than the flagship store in Herald Square, which is amazing!) and a few others in Florida. Entering this Macy's, one will find that it is brightly lit, cheerful, slightly upscale in an old school way with palm-styled columns evoking the Burdine's that preceded Macy's, and a dizzying array of counters and racks highlighting the various departments. This Macy's is a large store and has three floors, with the first floor encompassing all of the Men's Departments, Cosmetics, and Women's Shoes, the second floor houses Women's Clothing (save for shoes), and the third floor has their Home Departments, Luggage, Children's Department, and of course, Macy's Backstage, Macy's version of an off-price department store within a store! Today, me and Mom got many great goods at fantastic prices. Some items we found included three pairs of Fit Flops for Mom that with a 30% discount, yielded a $114 total savings, a Ralph Lauren long-sleeve shirt in Men's Last Act at $34.93 (the same as the full priced ones and on price-wise, on par with a discount department store like TJ Maxx), a discounted Nike bathing suit in the Men's Department , an American flag styled bathing suit, a couple of pairs of Ralph Lauren Pajamas from Women's Intimates, and some Charter Club 100% Cotton Sheets from the Home Department on a Last Act discount for about $47 (on par with pricing at say Home Goods). While Macy's is not always the cheapest price-wise, if you know how to shop, you can get some wonderful finds here! Another great aspect of this store would have to be the service, which is fantastic as the many of the employees I have dealt with here are kind, do their best to learn my preferences and needs as a regular guest, and are efficient! I would go ahead and list all of the employees I have dealt with here, but there are too many to list but Management at this store should definitely be proud! I will definitely be shopping at Macy's many more times and I always look forward to shopping there! read more

Went to Macy's Boca Raton on Monday with my girlfriend to pick out a diamond engagement ring. Kind of a big deal right? We'll obviously not to Macy's because we had to deal with this total idiot of a Salesperson named CAROLINA. Her English was totally unintelligible. Her understanding of English was worse. I had to repeat myself over and over again because CAROLINA didn't listen, didn't comprehend, and also didn't know her inventory at all. We came in with photos of diamond rings from their add and all CAROLINA could do was mumble "maybe in their" and point to the display case! Can you imagine a salesperson at Zales or any other jewelry store not knowing where there advertised items were? At one point I went up to a woman with bright red hair and asked her if she can relieve CAROLINA because this was a very important day for my girlfriend and I, she just looked at me and said NO. Nice huh? If any manager from Macy's is reading this I would tell you my family grew up shopping at Macy's. Have some common sense, don't have imbeciles like CAROLINA in a position where their selling $8,000 diamond engagement rings! CAROLINA should be in costume jewelry or working in the back.
