Awful attitude! awful customer service. Money hungry with no compassion. I bought a top and specifically asked what b the return policy was knowing that I may have to return it. I was told 30 days. when I tried to return it in 12 days, they told me I could only get store credit because their policy is 10 days for money refunded and would not give me my money back, and only wanted to give me a store credit. I spoke to the manager. I informed her that I was not informed about the 10 days, it is only two days past that return policy, and the top was clearly still wrapped in the tissue paper in the bag never worn. I asked the manager if she could please make an exception to refund my money and she said she would just love to give me a store credit. I did not want to store credit I want a refund. She would not do it. I work full-time. I also work in retail and manage a large territory , and that I was traveling and when I explained that to her she did not take any of that into consideration I will never shop there again and I'll be sure to tell all my Boca customers about this terrible experience read more

I was looking for a dress for a special occasion and was interested in a couple of designers which said Barbara Katz stocked their clothing. On arrival at 5 pm, the door was locked and several assistants were visible inside but I had to wait until someone finally let me in. She was pleasant but the look on her face clearly told me there was nothing in the store suitable for me. She just kept repeating there was nothing that would suit me. They may not have had a sample in my size but she could have made an effort to show me something and offer to order it. What an unpleasant experience! read more

I took my girlfriend shopping the other day because she loves this store! Her sales woman knows her size and what she likes so she never leaves empty handed. This particular visit, a collection from her favorite designer had just come in, so her shopper put aside outfits and called her to come in and see them. I waited as she tried everything on, and they knocked it out of the park! My girlfriend looked phenomenal when I took her out to dinner that night, and the jewelry she got with her clothes made her eyes dazzle. Not only was she happy with everything she tried on and bought, I was extremely happy at how well they took care of her. read more

Terrible store. Worked there three days and was not paid. I quit at the end of the third day due to the pettiness and cattiness of staff and manager. Staff weren't interested in helping clients, they were just there to talk about each other behind everyone's back. I told management I would report Barbara Katz Clothing to the FL Department of Business Regulation and the Internal Revenue Service and was nice enough to give them 10 days to mail my check. In stead, they ignored me and refused to answer, so I have gone ahead and notifed DPR and IRS with a certified copy to Barbara Katz for their records. I fully intend to claim there three days of salary of $10. an hour on my 2016 income tax return. They can explain why there is no W-2 to accompany my 1040. I am a single mother with a child and need every dollar I earn to pay my rent, electric and cable. What don't they understand about this? This is one shitty place to work. If this is their ethics and morals, I can't say much for the shop either. read more

I had the opportunity to accompany my wife to Barbara Katz as she had to pick up some previously-ordered clothing. This was my first time going to the store. The store is absolutely beautiful -- the interior colors are very attractive, the design of the store is well-laid out, and it is brightly lit. Even more important -- the employees are all professional and personable. My wife has been working with a sales associate named Lee. My wife brought home several outfits a few months ago that perfectly complemented my wife's coloring and figure. She told me that Lee had made most of the recommendations. When we entered the store nearly all of the sales associates said hello to my wife and how nice it was to see her again. As my wife was picking up her previous order, I took a walk around the store to see if there were any other outfits my wife might like. I immediately found several, and went to show them to my wife. Lee was with my wife, and told her that she had several potential outfits my wife might like to try on in addition to the two I had found. Several of the outfits fit perfectly, but a couple did not. What I found impressive is that Lee told my wife when the outfits were flattering -- and when they were not. Too often I have been clothes shopping with my wife where the sales person said every outfit was a "10" -- whereas I found them to be a "3." As we were paying for the outfits the owner of the store came by and introduced herself (Lori). She thanked my wife for her business -- and asked if there was anything special in the way of designs/looks that my wife was interested in -- that Lori would make a special effort to find these. In light of my experience, I have to say that it was completely the opposite of what other reviewers had experienced when they talked about poor customer service, poor selection, and a nasty owner. I found the selection to be very broad -- both in terms od style, and pricing. And as I noted, the sales associates -- and the owner-- were professional, courteous, and friendly. It so happened that after having shopped at Barbara Katz, that evening the movie Pretty Woman was on. We watched the scene where Julia Roberts attempts to go clothes shopping at a store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills -- and how the sales ladies totally ignored her for "not being wealthy." There are a number of clothing stores in Boca like the store in Pretty Woman -- but Barbara Katz is the exact opposite of that. read more

I was recently employed by the store Barbara Katz in Boca Raton, FL. After working their several days, I realized this was not a place I desired to work. The cattiness and talking behind your back by the store employees was something I do not do at a work place. It is now several months later and I still have not received my paycheck for my three days of work. Previous to being offered the position I had to work a day for free, which I agreed to, to see "if it was a right fit for me and the store." I agreed to this, I did NOT agree to working three days for free. I have sent several emails to Lesley the store manager and she replied to the first one saying I had agreed to work for free. What! I am 40 years old and a single mom of a 15 year old son and my paycheck is what pays for my apt and electric and car. I live on my paychecks and her three days is VERY important. I explained this to her and received no response twice. I also informed her by way of certified mail that if I did not receive my three days pay by 12/16/2016 I would be putting a review on YELP, but more important notifying the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) and DPR (Department of Professional Regulation) that she hires people and does not pay them. My grandmother and her friend went into purchase a gift for another friend and the process was disaster. The two of them needed to check with the other woman to make sure they could all split the necklace at 700 dollars. We told the owner we would let her know in two days. When we went to call her back they now told us the price was 1000. All the woman we were splitting the gift are very good customers and we upset by the way they were treated. The owner should learn customer service. I will make sure none of these woman return to her place. You must always treat your loyal customers with respect. read more

The ladies were very helpful and honest in letting me know what looked great on me, and what did not. This was my first time in the store, and I will definitely be coming back! I am very unhappy with this store. I was in the store February 17 for a trunk show and had to order the items I wanted. I'm not sure it was a trunk show because all the items were available at Bloomingdale's, Saks, and Neiman Marcus. There wasn't a representative from LaFayette 148 at Barbara Katz They told me I would have my items in 2-3 weeks in time for the event I needed them for. I have yet to receive them and every time I try and call and talk to someone I just get transferred to voicemails, no one will return the calls. My credit card has been charged and I have still not received the items. I have since purchased and received them directly from LaFayette 148. Even though I have gotten the items I wanted, elsewhere I still need my money back from Barbara Katz. Very poor way to do business, will not be back. Layfayette 148 was very accommodating, and seem to be very frustrated themselves over the customer service retailers provide. read more
