They came out within a few hours of calling for a quote. Once the guys arrived they were professional and fast! They took great lengths to not destroy my lawn with equipment by placing down boards to cover grass that the loader would ride on. Once the job was done they cleaned up everything and I never would have known they were here! We had two large trees removed and two trees pruned. I noticed you changed your original response. Go ahead and mail me what you have as far as an invoice, I would appreciate that. I saved a copy of your original response, so others can see the tactics and lengths that you and Mac are willing to go to, out of anger, for getting a bad/negative review. This just makes you all look worse than before. You are trying to cover up the horrendous job, rip-off, con BS that Mac did. You honestly have no idea what transpired between Mac and me. You are being vindictive...especially by publishing my name, as you wanted to know my name and address, in your original reply. And, yes, 'Pearson' - John Pearson McMahan, Jr./II, absolutely is affiliated with Mac's Trees. Anyone can look such up on sunbiz.org, and pull up each document and see the same address(es), officers, etc.. IGrow up, and take your lumps, and this bad review. I have everything documented from when Mac was here...it is posted on my property that such would be documented. The problem is, con artists will say and do anything to sound believable, and try to cover their dirty tracks. And, my invoice says, Macs Tree Service, Inc, which dissolved in 2010...technically that is also an illegal business practice - in violation of FLDUTPA. I don't know what invoice you created, nor do I care, but the one Mac gave me has his handwriting, and his fingerprints on it. Take your negative review, and go about your business, and leave me alone. Other businesses deal with such in a more professional manner. If I need to respond again, I will show the mess that was originally left. Yes, I was foolish enough to trust Mac, because a 'friend' referred him...and, I do know what transpired, and I documented such very well. I do not have to make things up like you have done here. If you all just do your job, and do it well, without trying to pull a fast one on anyone, you just might do OK. And, sad to say, I know other employees of Mac's who are paid under the table, and therefore not covered by worker's compensation should they get injured on the job. It is obvious Macs Tree Service of Jacksonville does not care about people - customers, nor workers - he cares only about money. Mac had complete and utter disregard for me, and my property. He also did not come here with the equipment he said he would bring, to get the trees in my back yard. Mac did not do what he said he would do. Stay off my property, stay away from me, and I can only encourage you to stop provoking me. I had already reported to Clay County Sheriff's Office about my concerns pertaining to Mac. I hope there is no need for me to report you all again. I do not tolerate being bullied, nor harassed. So, if you respond negatively, with false information again, I will bring up the copy of your original post that you removed from this review, and, post that along with the series of photos of all the tree mess Macs Tree Service, Inc. left at my property, September 8, 2017, which had nothing to do with the payment arrangements that Mac made with me, and agreed to, as I documented, as already mentioned. As I stated, I did call Mac, and I took screenshots of the call logs, as further evidence to prove what transpired. There are far too many witnesses, and evidence as to what happened here. If you want to keep lying, and making things up, you will succeed in putting yourselves out of business, all on your own. Is that your goal? Or are you just simply trying to use further intimidation tactics - aka - bullying, to try to get me to change my post, or to try to lessen the impact of what Macs Tree Service really did at my property?? And, as I learned, after the fact, the State of Florida, surpisingly, does not license, nor regulate tree companies, and, Clay County does not require tree companies to have an occupational license - so, you all commit false advertising by making such claims thst you are licensed. I question whether you are even insured. Now, please heed my advice, and leave well enough be. Don't do anything else foolish that can land you all in jail, and/or ruin your business completely, by your own actions. Leave me be. I will continue to follow any further responses you may post, and reply appropriately. Hopefully, you will have learned from this experience. And, again, I can only suggest you quit while you are ahead, so to speak, because everything is well documented by me, and had already been reported to the sheriff's office a long time ago. I had these guys out to take down a good sized live oak. They showed up when they were supposed to for my estimate, and were the lowest of 5 different companies. More importantly, they were the only ones that sounded like they knew what they were doing! Having a written copy of insurance was a nice touch at the estimate also. They had a crew of 4 out to take down the tree (again on time), and they did a fantastic job. It was overhanging a neighbor's lemon tree, and they made sure there was zero damage to that. They cleaned everything up perfectly, ground the stump well below ground level, made sure they cleaned up my neighbor's yard, and put the fence post and panels back up. They even had plywood down on my lawn to minimize damage from the skid steer. Very satisfied, and I will definitely call them for all my tree service needs in the future. read more

We had called Mac's tree service for a quote to take down 4 pine trees in our backyard. While the guy was out he and my husband discussed removing all the pine trees in our yard. He gave us a signed written quote and we decided to have them do the work. They pushed us back a week on the original date for them to do the service. On that date the Owner came here knocking on my door and another person was in my backyard unannounced. So in speaking with the owner he told me the person who gave us the quote (his son) way under bid the job and it would be probably at least double to do the work. My husband ended up calling him and tried to work with him to get a lower price since we had a signed quote for a lower price but he wouldn't work with us at all. Don't send incompetent people out to do a job and then double your price. We were willing to pay more but not double. Will not be using their services!! read more

This company provided an estimate which stated they would clear a piece of land for me and remove all the stumps. (A before and after picture of my property is actually on their website) After they completed the job, I had to call them back out because they had missed numerous stumps. I now have a company out that is actually getting rid of roots in that same area and he has found numerous stumps which were missed. He has dug them up for me, which he of course is charging me for, when this should have been taken care of by Mac's. There remains 3 stumps which are too large for him to dig up. I have called 3 times and left messages to Mac's Trees Service and even texted the owner directly and NO ONE has responded to me. It would probably take them less that half and hour to grind the stumps. I'm so disappointed in this company for not even returning a phone call to let me know they had received my messages. I paid a large sum of money and expect for work to be completed as promised. I work in a service industry and if someone calls with an issue where we provided the work we get out there that day. I don't recommend them and I will not be calling them again. read more

Failed to come back and remove the couple dozen trees he felled. I hired J&J Tree Service to clean up their mess.

We have been in Middleburg since 1986. Not sure how long they have been in business but it's the only tree service we have ever used. We have used them many times over the years. They are always quick to call us back and usually have the tree down the next week. They do a great job. They are the only company we will use. read more

Never showed up to remove the tree, made multiple calls, eventually had to find another service

We called this company back in January and asked them to do a quote. They came and offered us an amount too great to believe. Shortly after we scheduled an appointment for them to come and take care of the tree, they ended up leaving for whatever reason and since then my dad has called multiple times to get the tree removed and we get an excuse every time. Today i called and they tell me they took a contract elsewhere and are unable to take any local work. I am very disappointed in this because my dad has called numerous times trying to get them to come over. Make sure you get a contract or they might screw You over. I called this company 4 days into my cat being into a tree. They said give it one more day to see if he would come down. I did. Called a few other company's and got the same response. Said she would call me back and never did. I called again and she said she would call the crew and see if they could come over and she would call me again. Again she never did. I finally got my cat down 2 days later through Black Creek Tree Co. I highly recommend them! read more
