I had a very disappointing experience with Sunshine State Movers. I was given the option of an…read morehourly rate or a flat rate of $500, but I felt pressured to decide on the spot, which already felt uncomfortable. Once the move started, the mover's attitude became cocky, snarky, and condescending. During the move, my neighbor misplaced the keys to the truck, and while we were trying to locate them, he continued charging me hourly while standing around in the pouring rain and telling me to call a locksmith. When I asked him to pull some items out of the truck so we could check whether the keys had fallen near the boxes, he seemed irritated and unhelpful. At that point, I asked whether we were doing the agreed flat rate or hourly, and he told me it was hourly. I decided to end the move because I no longer felt comfortable continuing. I was alone, dealing with the situation as a single mom, and I genuinely felt taken advantage of. What upset me most was how the job ended. He did not properly put everything back into the truck before leaving, and my king mattress was left outside in the rain. I had to drag it back into the truck myself. He did not ask if I needed help or make any effort to leave things in a reasonable condition. The entire experience felt unprofessional, disrespectful, and unnecessarily stressful. I would not recommend this company based on how I was treated.
