Great service and nice selection for breakfast. I ordered the two eggs with hash browns, grilled biscuit and a pancake. The large oj is served in a beer mug, so be prepared for a lot of juice if you order a large. The juice is not fresh squeezed but it is tolerable. My eggs were cooked just as I ordered and the pancake was perfect. The grilled biscuit and gravy were tasty. The place was full of locals old and young. With only a few choices in Thomaston for breakfast this place stands out. We were here for breakfast but they have daily lunch specials that sounds good. We will come back to try lunch. They do not accept credit or debit cards but there is an ATM at the gas station next door. read more

Stopped in to grab lunch after an appt. The signage out front isn't the best and you'd drive right by it if you weren't paying attention. It's a Country cooking kinda spot, nothing crazy in terms of flavors or offerings. Place is clean and tidy, servers were both very nice and each of the ladies that were in the back cooking, that came out were nice as well. Hamburger is an unseasoned little less than 1/4 pound patty that is flat top cooked. Bun was standard and they ask what toppings you want and add them for you. Onion rings are a commercial frozen food service product and are standard in flavor and unseasoned as well. Veggies were fresh and they didn't cheap her on the mayo. Country Fried steak as fried and crispy and commercial food service product as well. The brown gravy was nice and peppery which I enjoyed and seasoned properly. The fries were crispy but unseasoned, and since I don't like ketchup I was out of luck and ended up dipping them in my gravy. Texas toast was toasted nicely but the butter they used is unsalted so it was bland. The Cole slaw......was brought to the table at room temp and the room was like 74 degrees...that was a first for me. Most people want their Cole slaw chilled, even at picnics outside in the South in the dead of summer, I've eaten colder slaw. It's heavy on the Mayo which is the saving grace! I added pepper and salt and a splash of bottled lemon juice they brought with the iced tea and jazzed it up. Yeah...I said jazzed like some middle aged mom! Price point was completely reasonable and their bathroom was tidy. They did a steady walk-up and order at the window service while we were there. More people came and went from the window than the dining room. I'd probably come back and try their other items just to see, if I'm in the area and was out of new options to try. Nothing was a deal breaker in terms of repeating the experience...but nothing was all that great either. read more

Have family visiting and I had heard this place was super good, so we went there to try it out, place had a down-home feel, we sat down and I am looking around as we sat with coffees and water for close to 30 minutes, newer people had come in after us and served within 15 minutes, a dad and child came in and then another guy sat with them, the child and newer guy got there food and the child also, I could see a burger and fries sitting on counter ready to serve, and other food going out, the other guy did not get his order and it was ordered again. At our table the order finally came and the sitting burger and fries were for our table - cold, the order with a pancake and bacon, only thing warm was the very center of the pancake, club sandwich and fries - all cold, BLT and onion rings - cold, philly cheesesteak and fries - fries were cold. A coke was ordered in middle of eating and it never came. We were never asked if everything was alright, only time waitress was at our table she was adding coffee to cups. Went here for breakfast and it didn't disappoint! There are no reservations nor is there a hostess stand, so you just show up and wait for an open table. They do get very crowded on Saturdays, so be ready to wait a bit during breakfast rush hour. There is a covered front porch area with some rocking chairs to enjoy while you wait. I tried the country fried steak - two egg breakfast (comes with hash browns or grits & toast or biscuit). I also ordered a side of sausage (MY FAVORITE PART). The food was delicious. Hash browns weren't my favorite, but still good. Will definitely be coming back & trying everything on the menu!! They also have a walk-up window where you can order to go. read more

I did like the food here until they started putting their political views on their to go order window. They blamed their recent price increases on the current administration. I call it greed myself. There are other restaurants locally that have not had the same increases. A business should keep their political opinions private,not public. read more

I stopped into Mac's today for lunch and really enjoyed it. It's was reasonably crowded but there was ample seating space. I ordered the club sandwich with a scoop of the chicken salad. The club came with toasted bread and was stacked. It was really good. The chicken salad has more of a sweetness to it that some may like and others may not. I enjoyed it. It's similar to English Cafe in town in terms of how they make their Chicken Salad. The waitress was attentive and provide excellent service. I do hope to return one more to have breakfast their. I love this little restaurant. Every time I come to visit my friends in this part of Georgia we come here for breakfast, and it's always delicious and fresh. The menu is simple, which makes choosing what you want to eat, easy and fast. Terrible food! Cold austere atmosphere! This place has never been good! Judging from the pictures it's the same unappetizing plating! It's pretty gross! The times on Yelp are wrong obviously! Dumb! If you don't tell Yelp am pm they assume pm! Yelp thinks they close at midnight tonight! Lol Stay home and cook fir yourself!
