I ordered the half slab of ribs to try with the different BBQ sauces but I only tried the mild and the JByrds juice because I don't really care for sweet bbq sauce. The ribs come without sauce and they were cooked tender with just enough hold onto the bone for chewing. I'm a TEXAS girl with a strange taste for Sonny's bbq but it's nice to know there is a BBQ restaurant right near me in the small town of Roberta Ga. that I can get good ribs and I liked my chili cheese dog with onion as well. The chili seemed to have a sweet taste to it but I liked it. They have Coke products which is a plus if I choose to drink a soda and they also have sweet tea to represent the southern taste. I will definitely be back to check out the BBQ chicken and Brisket sometime soon. Nice to have a restaurant where I can watch carb intake by eating meat which I can make my own veggies to go with it at home. I wish it had a warmer atmosphere inside and a bit friendlier or should I say more outgoing when ordering. The prices are a bit high but they are everywhere so I will support this business and I'm glad they are here in our small town of Roberta.

I ordered two racks of ribs a full chicken a pint of Cole slaw, baked Beans and Mac and cheese. The sides were horrible. The Cole slaw was put in a food processor and chopped so it was like a sauce and overly sweet. The baked beens were mah and the Mac and cheese was over cooked and inedible! After waiting 45 min for my food I asked how much longer. I was told that they were out of chicken and they had to make more. I asked how much longer would it take and the woman responds with I don't know with a blank stare. I asked if she could find out. She came back with they are in the oven and there was no way to know. I sat down for another 20 min and finally was given my order. I went home opened the boxes and to my surprise the chicken was old! Not fresh and recently cooked. What they did was when I complained the cook gave me old chicken that was so dry and overcooked that I could not eat it. The ribs had to be also day old as they were dry and just bad. Short version $80 dollars worth of BBQ that went in the trash. I suspect that this at one time was great BBQ when the father ran it. Now it is run by the son and they don't care about quality food!

The brisket was tender and delicious, especially with their sauce. The peach beans were an unexpected highlight - full of flavor and definitely worth ordering. It actually becomes more like an accidental deconstructed hamburger than a real burger. The French Fries! They were awful: Burnt and the stale tasting (the oil was so old tasting - I almost threw up.) The fries also were hard as a rock! I have no idea what has caused the decline in portion size, flavors and overall cooking at this restaurant - but it is heartbreaking in a small town who seemed to spend time and money at this place.
