In all fairness my review is based on Valentine's Day...which fell on a Monday...and basically half…read morethe town is closed on Mondays and these poor people were NOT prepared for the on slot. Staff was polite and did their best, but the place was packed and there were two of them and one additional lady that didn't speak much English...everyone was in the weeds. A couple of additional employees did eventually show up, that were clearly not supposed to be there and were probably bribed in order to do so. We went long stretches without seeing our server and had to ask for most of what we wanted/needed twice. Salsa is blended super smooth and on the runny side. It has decent flavor and a slight kick to it...chips were standard but not stale-like some places close by. Margarita mix is standard and nothing to write home about, little on the flat side and light on the tequila...but far from the worst I've ever had...so I'll give it a fair rating. Our food was hot, but some parts were a little over cooked and some parts were a little under seasoned. The brown sauce on California burrito was the highlight of it all. I'm guessing it's a pre-made attempt at a mole ::shrugs:: but it was really tasty, whatever it was trying to be. Positives: They tried and we would give them another chance They are not stingy with the sour cream Every employee was nice

The mojarra (deep fried whole tilapia) was the best I have had anywhere. My husband had the burrito deluxe and was equally pleased. Service was prompt. Prices were very reasonable for a Sunday mid afternoon. The only complaint I have is that staff was very loud laughing in a back room when they weren't serving, therefore I give them a four star, not a five star.

Let's face it, it's pretty hard to mess up Americanized Mexican food. Some form of meat, cheese,…read moreonion, tomato, peppers, tortilla...maybe a mushroom..Mild salsa, lettuce, guacamole and sour cream...repeated 80 slightly different ways. Honestly, for like an entire year I drove passed the place thinking it was closed down and covid had gotten them...but I saw lights on and cars parked outside one weekend night...then realized it was in fact open and operating on a daily basis the whole d*mn time! Also, it's attached to a gas station..so there's that. Service was good. Our server was polite and attentive, even though we got there super early after work and were basically the only table there for a while. It did pick up and other servers came on shift around the time more people breezed in. Margaritas...don't...just save your blood sugar and get a beer. Their pre-mix is too sweet and zero hint of sour/tartness. If there is any tequila in it, there isn't much as well...I forced myself to finish it and moved to beer. Food...it was alright. Nothing great, but nothing bad. My husband got the 3 Taco plate. His picks were El Pastor, Lengua and Carne Asada....he said they were all a little dry and overcooked, but flavor wise, they were alright. Between you and me...he piled so much stuff on top of them: cheese dip/beans/rice/salsa/guac...I'm not even sure he could taste a flavor. I had the Pollo Bandido..not very exciting, but it was good. The chicken was a little overcooked and the mushrooms/onions were diced a little on the small side...but meh, I didn't have to cook it or clean up after it..so it was fine! Oh! I ordered what I thought was a side of sautéed poblanos'-which I was going to dump onto my chicken...BUT it turned out to be a stuffed poblano with shredded chicken/cheese and topped with salsa. Cleary not just poblanos'! Knowing the error of my ways NOW....I would have just ordered a couple of those little things, because they were WAY better...then got a side of rice and beans...and *bam* that would have been a perfect dinner! There are other Mexican options in the area, this one is just like the others...El Durango, El Toro Loco, Los Arcos...all the same and on any given night, each place will have an off night or be super slammed/slow...just pick whichever is least busy and open.

Don't let this stop you! It's a small venue, probably less than 8 tables, very clean. But, oh, the food! Chips and salsa were brought out first and then our orders. The combo plate for my husband and the chicken quesadilla combo for me. Both very good. Some of the best rice I've had in a Mexican restaurant. The lady who delivered our food ( one of the owners) told us that on Wednesdays they offer a buffet with both Mexican and American food. Sounded delicious and I hope the next time head to FL from SC, it will be on a Wednesday. If you haven't eaten here, you need to go!

My wife got the steak burrito bowl and I got the fried pork burrito. For drinks we tried the horchata and picked up a slice of their Tres Leche cake. We also tried all of their sauces, queso, and salsa. The sauces weren't that great in my opinion and the salsa didn't have good flavor and was a little watered down. The queso was pretty good though and i recommend that to go with their chips. The steak in the bowl tasted decent and the whole bowl together was really good. It was presented in the to go container really well. We recommend trying this. The fried pork tasted really good in the burrito. It was a little sweet but also a little crunchy and I was addicted to it. The whole burrito was delicious, only downside was it got really greasy by the time we got home to eat. I still highly recommend this but have plenty of napkins lol. The horchata was top tier. You could taste the rice a bit and it was a little sweet, really well balanced flavors. The tres leches cake tasted a little generic. The cake itself was a little moist but not fully like it should be. Overall, we definitely want to go back and try other things they had on their menu and other proteins. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in town.
