Always friendly and helpful service, always delicious and large portions, wallet-friendly pricing, and they're always quick, too. Definitely try the Big Mule - you can customize it! We highly recommend Guitarras for lunch or dinner! read more

Disappointed with my visit to the Tom Hill location today. I frequently order the fajitas (both here and in Thomaston), but 3 tortillas simply isn't enough for the dish. When I asked for additional tortillas, the server brought them out without mentioning any added cost, only for a $2.50 charge to show up on the final bill. Having eaten here many times without being charged or having been warned, the surprise fee felt off-putting. The food is decent, but transparency in pricing and better server communication are definitely needed. read more

Guitarras Mexican Grill - Chicken Soup - Mexican Near Me - Macon, Georgia

This was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've had. The restaurant was practically empty for hours, which should have been a warning sign. The food was not good at all. The fish was burnt, the chicken was also overcooked and burnt, and the cheese dip was thick and chunky instead of smooth. The shredded cheese on the tacos wasn't even melted--it was cold, making it seem like the food had been thrown together at the last minute. The rice had almost no flavor and was incredibly bland. To make matters worse, our margaritas were served in broken glasses, which is both unsafe and unacceptable. The service wasn't great either. There were only a couple of waiters working, and despite the restaurant being nearly empty, the overall experience still felt slow and unorganized. Unfortunately, I won't be returning and can't recommend this restaurant based on my experience. read more

Ordered the birria quesadilla, made of corn tortillas. The birria is pretty big and can split into two servings. Great ambiance and service from staff! Guacamole is also good and great starter. read more

Guitarras Mexican Grill - Birria quesadilla - Mexican Near Me - Macon, Georgia

I visited here tonight & I have a new go to for birria tacos. Our server was a very nice guy; hate I don't remember his name. The manager, Tasha, was nice as well. Drinks were flat, opted for water. Prices and portions are GREAT. Went on a rainy night so it wasn't packed, but they did have sports on and a low volume of tunes. -birria quesadilla $14 | 9/10 HUGE corn tortillas, full of meat & cheese -birria tacos 3 for $13 | 12/10 flour tortillas (corn option available); comes with lettuce & shredded cheese; -birria consommé (included with food) | 12/10 delicious A*; seasoned very well -guitarra bowl $13 | 4/10 replaced the black beans with refried & HORRIBLE mistake; the refried beans just weren't good to me & threw off the whole meal - table salsa & chips | 8/10 HOT, but a good taste & the chips are thin, but not too thin & were fresh every time read more

This place is outstanding! very very tasty food! Again the food is outstanding! as we were eating the owner or manager was walking around cleaning and wiping surfaces! very clean ! I would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for some amazing Mexican food! read more

Guitarras Mexican Grill has its strengths, but it's a mixed experience overall. The staff truly shines--they are incredibly friendly and seem to know many of their guests by name, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. However, the food itself is average Tex-Mex. It is good, and filling. But it's not blowing my socks off. If you're looking for a quick bite with great service, Guitarras fits the bill. read more

This was, without a doubt, one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The restaurant was completely empty for the entire time we were there, which should have meant fast service and fresh food. Instead, it was the exact opposite. The cheese on several dishes was chunky instead of smooth and melted. My enchilada was served cold, the rice was bland and cold, and the cheese in the taco wasn't even melted. The chicken and fish were both burnt, dry, and overcooked. Even the salsa was overwhelmingly hot, making it impossible to enjoy with the meal. To make matters worse, they tried to serve my margarita in a broken glass. That's a serious safety issue that never should have happened. The service was just as disappointing. We only saw two waiters the entire time, and despite the restaurant being completely empty for hours, some of the staff were outside in the front smoking cigarettes instead of attending to customers or ensuring the food being served was up to standard. Overall, the food was cold, poorly prepared, and lacked flavor, and the service was careless. There is no excuse for serving food and drinks like this in an empty restaurant. I definitely won't be returning and cannot recommend this place. read more

I've lived in Macon for 3 months and have frequented this restaurant more than any other. I've been here 4-5 times and the word I'll use is consistent. Whether it's lunch time or dinner time - packed or less busy - this place delivers. The service is always top notch. You don't see any of them sitting around or on their phones. They're very attentive and timely. The food? Phenomenal. The chipotle plate is a MUST. So much flavor and a great portion size. The guac is some of the freshest you will ever have. Another must. I will say, skip the margaritas UNLESS you like sour mix. If you don't mind that then have at it! The beers are good. If you want Mexican in Macon - this is the place to come. read more

We are from out of town and we loved this Mexican restaurant. Food was good and the outside seating was perfect for our family of 5 ( three young boys) and I can't forget about the margaritas! They were huge. Great prices !!! And the service was great. She was super sweet. read more

Food and service was great! Salsa had a little kick to it that I liked. Chips were good too! The night we went, the restaurant was celebrating their 10th anniversary! That's amazing! Restaurant is clean and seating was comfortable. Great ambiance. read more

The cheese enchiladas were a delight. Not your typical fake cheese enchiladas that you find in Florida. What I really liked about this food is they have a extra spicy salsa that comes in a squeeze bottle Yum do you like spicy? Please add that to your salsa that they serve with the chips. The refried beans were plentiful and they're actually vegetarian no pork no lard so that was good for me because I'm actually allergic to meat. Service was just OK. Wine pours were big. read more

This place is a must stop restaurant. It's locally owned and has delicious food. This time I got the combo with the chicken soup and a burrito. Both were excellent! My dad is a big fan of chile rellenos. He's picky though and hates when restaurants use green peppers. This place uses poblano peppers. My mom got the burrito Morelos since she really likes their green salsa. Their chunky guacamole is also super good. Very fresh, and the serving was large. Service was quick. Though it was also a week night. We've been before in years past when once we placed a carry out order and it took a very long time. The food was good though. But the service was slow that day. Granted the restaurant was slammed. In house service has always been good whenever I've gone though. There is a large outside patio for nicer days. Inside is a bit small, but it's always been busy when I've gone. To me this restaurant is a bit of a local gem. It's not too far off the interstate off Tom Hill. If you're looking for a good Mexican restaurant while stopping through I definitely recommend here! read more

Very cool place in Macon. Great food and service. My daughter had the camarones a la Diablo were excellent with a sweet smoking taste. My had a large coctel de camarón and I had the usual tres tacos de carne asada which were tremendous. Always supporting my paisas! read more

Food is good, just prepare to wait forever. They need more servers. Third time I've been there and waited way too long.

I'm never disappointed here. I like to order the stuffed jalapenos appetizer. I think it's cheese, chorizo and chicken stuffed into jalapeno halves. You get six halves and some tortillas. Ask for the squeeze bottle salsas. They have red and green and I dig them both. The green was much spicier this time and makes me wonder if there might be two types of green as the consistency might have even been different this time. This time I had the Chipotle Poblano Chicken Fajitas. A little pricy but good. I'd definitely get it again. Service a bit slow but not uncommon these days. Lots of people checked on me which was nice and they gave me a water to go which was a bonus for my night at the hotel. read more

The food was excellent but the waiter that we had was not attentive. He bought out our food that we ordered but he did not refill our drinks. He did bring out the ticket so that we can checkout that's why he did not get a tip. The tip of the day is treat your customers with more attention and you will get a decent tip. Ignoring us will get you nothing and that's what you got. I probably won't be going back any time soon. Lately a lot of restaurants including this one is a great disappointment when it comes to great customer service. read more

What a gem this place is. I can't imagine enjoying a meal more than this. I stopped in around 4pm for an early dinner. I was visiting the area on business and was staying at a hotel a couple of exits up I-75. The great reviews by other Yelpers prompted me to try it. I had the Burrito Tapatio with chicken. It was absolutely delicious. The chicken was tender and moist and the flavor was outstanding. The beans and rice accompaniments were excellent, also. Most folks tend to judge a Mexican restaurant by their chips and salsa. I'm no different. Their salsa may be the best that I've ever had. It's got a nice zing to it. It's not blazing hot, but it's certainly not wimpy. The chips were light and crispy. I had a Patrón margarita with my meal. The medium size was very healthy. It wasn't cheap, but it sure was delicious. The service was just as good as the food. My server told me that most of the employees are family members. They, obviously, take great pride in what they do. This is a top-notch restaurant. The next time that I drive to Atlanta, I might detour into Macon on I-75 just to eat here again. Yes - it's THAT good! read more

The chicken soup is delicious.! Good proportions. No hard seltzers available. Nice atmosphere and staff

Just OK. Don't get the enchiladas with pork on top. The drinks were not good. Besides the qqueso and salsa everything else lacked flavor

We did a to go order and it was awful. Kid's meals were a waste of money and almost unedible . Kid's cheese quesadilla- the cheese was so thick it wasn't even melted. My daughters 'chicken tenders' were very thin chicken strips that had NO breading on them. The crinkle cut fries were barely even cooked. The refried beans tasted old. The only semi okay thing that we ordered was the chips, salsa and queso. read more

Went for lunch today. I ordered the chicken taco salad. There was literally 2 inches of refried beans in the bottom of the bowl, burned pieces of chicken with the burnt grease and the toppings. It was horrible. My coke was flat. I used to go to the one on Toms Hill and thought to give the one on Thomaston road a try. I wont go back. the only thing I can say positive was the waitress we had was very attentive and polite. read more

I went for Menudo. But they only serve it on some weekends. So I opted for three tamales and a taco salad bowl. Both were extremely good although the taco salad bowl should have been called a lettuce bowl. I had about three tablespoons of meat and beans all the way at the bottom and had to take off some of the lettuce, which made up the bulk of the bowl, to find it. It was a thin layer of meat underneath it all. The lettuce was so much I at the meat off the bottom of the bowl and threw the majority of the lettuce away. The food was seasoned well and the tamales were absolutely delicious. I will be back for seconds. The inside of the restaurant was dark. The walls are a dark colored wood. So are the floors. They were only using natural light from the windows. The restaurant was small. The door was closed. There was no ventilation. There were only three workers and two were not wearing a mask. There was a large family in the restaurant. Two were coughing their lungs out. I have no clue why the owners wouldnt open the door to allow fresh air to circulate. This was during covid so why not try to protect staff? There were no health measures undertaken at all by the restaurant. The customers were coughing so bad, with their tongues hanging out their mouths and all, I quicky ordered and walked back outside. There was a bench by the door. Overall I give the restaurant four stars for price and taste. read more

Great service. Food is decent but will not do the trick if you want authentic Mexican food. It's Americanized. Better than Taco Bell and more authentic than chipotle but not the most authentic if that's what you are looking for. read more

Food was ok nothing to brag about , they forgot my salsa . I work across the street my food was cold when got back and started eating lunch.

Awesome food, vibes and service. Everything we ordered was great and our server, who was also the bartender, was on top of things. Definitely not bland Tex-mex or run of the mill Mexican food. Drinks were also strong and tasty. read more

Every time i've gone here it's been wonderful. This is by far my favorite mexican food. The service is never lacking, the salsa & chips are just perfect, & the al pastor tacos never fail me. Overall, it was a pleasant enough experience. Burrito is a good choice to go with. Service was decent. I would definitely return here.

Seriously what in the actual F#&@. I almost never leave a bad review for any place, especially Mexican food cause it's on of my favorites. And while the food I did get on my carry out order was descent enough.... the attention to detail sucked shit. I don't really mind spending a little more than most on a good meal but when one pays that extra you would think the extra money is worth whatever your getting right??? So when I pay almost $18 for a burrito, enchilada and taco, as well as a small cheese dip all to go that even if it wasn't good it would all atleast be in the damn bag..... enchilada check... burrito same size as the enchilada somehow but also check.... taco.... taco... dammit they forgot my taco.... cheese dip.... where TF is my 4 dollar small cheese dip.... how do you forget half the Fucking order.... And it was only FOUR things.... may your tortilla chips be forever stale!!! read more
