This was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've had. The restaurant was practically empty for hours, which should have been a warning sign. The food was not good at all. The fish was burnt, the chicken was also overcooked and burnt, and the cheese dip was thick and chunky instead of smooth. The shredded cheese on the tacos wasn't even melted--it was cold, making it seem like the food had been thrown together at the last minute. The rice had almost no flavor and was incredibly bland. To make matters worse, our margaritas were served in broken glasses, which is both unsafe and unacceptable. The service wasn't great either. There were only a couple of waiters working, and despite the restaurant being nearly empty, the overall experience still felt slow and unorganized. Huge, let's start their the Nachos were so big. I finished it though. Not a fan of the cheese sauce but I wasn't mad at it. Plenty of meat and great service from the friendly bartender 7/10. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The restaurant was completely empty for the entire time we were there, which should have meant fast service and fresh food. Instead, it was the exact opposite. The cheese on several dishes was chunky instead of smooth and melted. My enchilada was served cold, the rice was bland and cold, and the cheese in the taco wasn't even melted. The chicken and fish were both burnt, dry, and overcooked. Even the salsa was overwhelmingly hot, making it impossible to enjoy with the meal. To make matters worse, they tried to serve my margarita in a broken glass. That's a serious safety issue that never should have happened. The service was just as disappointing. We only saw two waiters the entire time, and despite the restaurant being completely empty for hours, some of the staff were outside in the front smoking cigarettes instead of attending to customers or ensuring the food being served was up to standard. Overall, the food was cold, poorly prepared, and lacked flavor, and the service was careless. There is no excuse for serving food and drinks like this in an empty restaurant. I've lived in Macon for 3 months and have frequented this restaurant more than any other. I've been here 4-5 times and the word I'll use is consistent. Whether it's lunch time or dinner time - packed or less busy - this place delivers. The service is always top notch. You don't see any of them sitting around or on their phones. They're very attentive and timely. The food? Phenomenal. The chipotle plate is a MUST. So much flavor and a great portion size. The guac is some of the freshest you will ever have. Another must. What I really liked about this food is they have a extra spicy salsa that comes in a squeeze bottle Yum do you like spicy? Please add that to your salsa that they serve with the chips. This place is a must stop restaurant. It's locally owned and has delicious food. This time I got the combo with the chicken soup and a burrito. Both were excellent! My dad is a big fan of chile rellenos. He's picky though and hates when restaurants use green peppers. This place uses poblano peppers. My mom got the burrito Morelos since she really likes their green salsa. Their chunky guacamole is also super good. Very fresh, and the serving was large. Service was quick. Though it was also a week night. We've been before in years past when once we placed a carry out order and it took a very long time. The food was good though. But the service was slow that day. Granted the restaurant was slammed. In house service has always been good whenever I've gone though. There is a large outside patio for nicer days. Inside is a bit small, but it's always been busy when I've gone. To me this restaurant is a bit of a local gem. It's not too far off the interstate off Tom Hill. I'm never disappointed here. I like to order the stuffed jalapenos appetizer. I think it's cheese, chorizo and chicken stuffed into jalapeno halves. You get six halves and some tortillas. Ask for the squeeze bottle salsas. They have red and green and I dig them both. The green was much spicier this time and makes me wonder if there might be two types of green as the consistency might have even been different this time. This time I had the Chipotle Poblano Chicken Fajitas. A little pricy but good. I'd definitely get it again. Service a bit slow but not uncommon these days. Lots of people checked on me which was nice and they gave me a water to go which was a bonus for my night at the hotel. read more

The food was excellent but the waiter that we had was not attentive. He bought out our food that we ordered but he did not refill our drinks. He did bring out the ticket so that we can checkout that's why he did not get a tip. The tip of the day is treat your customers with more attention and you will get a decent tip. Ignoring us will get you nothing and that's what you got. I probably won't be going back any time soon. What a gem this place is. I can't imagine enjoying a meal more than this. I stopped in around 4pm for an early dinner. I was visiting the area on business and was staying at a hotel a couple of exits up I-75. The great reviews by other Yelpers prompted me to try it. I had the Burrito Tapatio with chicken. It was absolutely delicious. The chicken was tender and moist and the flavor was outstanding. The beans and rice accompaniments were excellent, also. Most folks tend to judge a Mexican restaurant by their chips and salsa. I'm no different. Their salsa may be the best that I've ever had. It's got a nice zing to it. It's not blazing hot, but it's certainly not wimpy. The chips were light and crispy. I had a Patrón margarita with my meal. The medium size was very healthy. It wasn't cheap, but it sure was delicious. The service was just as good as the food. My server told me that most of the employees are family members. They, obviously, take great pride in what they do. This is a top-notch restaurant. The next time that I drive to Atlanta, I might detour into Macon on I-75 just to eat here again. Went for lunch today. I ordered the chicken taco salad. There was literally 2 inches of refried beans in the bottom of the bowl, burned pieces of chicken with the burnt grease and the toppings. It was horrible. My coke was flat. I used to go to the one on Toms Hill and thought to give the one on Thomaston road a try. I went for Menudo. But they only serve it on some weekends. So I opted for three tamales and a taco salad bowl. Both were extremely good although the taco salad bowl should have been called a lettuce bowl. I had about three tablespoons of meat and beans all the way at the bottom and had to take off some of the lettuce, which made up the bulk of the bowl, to find it. It was a thin layer of meat underneath it all. The lettuce was so much I at the meat off the bottom of the bowl and threw the majority of the lettuce away. The food was seasoned well and the tamales were absolutely delicious. I will be back for seconds. The inside of the restaurant was dark. The walls are a dark colored wood. So are the floors. They were only using natural light from the windows. The restaurant was small. The door was closed. There was no ventilation. There were only three workers and two were not wearing a mask. There was a large family in the restaurant. Two were coughing their lungs out. I have no clue why the owners wouldnt open the door to allow fresh air to circulate. This was during covid so why not try to protect staff? There were no health measures undertaken at all by the restaurant. The customers were coughing so bad, with their tongues hanging out their mouths and all, I quicky ordered and walked back outside. There was a bench by the door.
