When I called to outreach for help on 2 chairlifts for use in my homeless nonprofit for persons with disabilities, Mike was not very helpful. We purchased the chairlifts for several thousand dollars from Mac's Lift Gate to make our second floor of our group home accessible. The stair lifts frequently break and when they do, and the group home manager has called for repair, it has taken up to 4 days for repair. When I shared this with Mike, he said Mac's Lift Gate was out of the chair lift business. I stated that it would have been courteous to advise clients like us who rely upon Mac's Lift, to communicate with us, a homeless nonprofit doing incredible work. Instead of owning the lack of communication or delay in service, he placed blame on one of the two chair lift manufacturers, Acorn. Businesses should be much more gracious and accommodating than this one is and own solutions instead of blaming others. I just find the response I received very disappointing and not community minded. In the midst of a homeless crisis with front line responders like our organization taking care of those in need, businesses should at least stop and think about situations and how they can really help when they sold an expensive product to us less than 5 years ago. read more
