This place tries to RIP YOU OFF. I previously worked IT before, and I went to go buy a computer and test my current computers display. The guy working there tried to get me to pay 60 dollars in "diagnostic" fees for ME to plug my pc into one of their monitors for ME to check it out. That should NEVER have a price attached to it, especially not at that scam of a price. Not to mention the computer I was trying to buy was twice as overpriced as it should have been. After refusing any further service he started being unreasonably rude to me and my dad. I then walked out of the store. Save yourself from these scammy people and go get your devices repaired or bought at a real tech store, not some guy trying to scam a customer with a 60 dollar Nothing fee. read more

I love having the support of the professionals in this store. I've gone three times, and they are helpful, friendly, and thorough. I've worked with the receptionist, the owner, and the technicians, and they all were great. I highly recommend visiting them if you have an issue with your computer. I noticed they also work with PC's. They also sell used chargers as well as refurbished and brand new computers along with external drives. Owner seems to have the typical "IT guy thinks he's god" complex. Another guy, probably his son, lurks around in a stupid goth outfit like he's a hacker. This place reeks of the kind of over confidence people hate about computer shops. Prices are nothing impressive. Labor fees are ridiculous. Wanted $60 just to plug a computer into a monitor- this after expressing my intent to buy two of his computers. Walked out with nothing, never turning back. Just fixed my old one instead. Also does not appear to be an authorized reseller or repair shop. Recommend you avoid this place. read more

went to this place the first time and waited the 2 1/2 weeks (which is normal) to pick up. went home and the same problem happened where my pc wouldn't start up. came back with the computer again and waiting another 3 weeks to pick up but once I got home and used it for a couple weeks the same problem happened. so once again I went back with no cost towards my card. let's just say I left the store with my parts being completely dissembled from my pc and they gave me a refund of what I have waited 2 1/2 months to find the simple conclusion. Would not recommend anyone going to this place let alone giving them your money expecting your simple problem to be fixed. read more

I REALLY didn't expect to be disappointed with my experience but, unfortunately, it was not good. I knew the owner years ago and was always impressed with his integrity but I didn't feel like integrity was present here, . I took it in because it was slow (I knew it had too much data on it). The representative who did the assessment on my computer followed up with an email outlining the issues he found. I like quirky people -- in fact, I truly like most people -- and seldom, if ever, don't get along well with others. And I had never spoken to this tech, don't know who they are; none of this is personal -- yet, it ended up feeling pretty personal, even still, after reading the assessment. The assessment was so...colorful and dramatic that I found myself unsure what to make of it. Circus bears? Sand dunes? fires? I'm not careless with my laptop, just use it regularly like most people. I'm not techo-savy but I'm not an idiot. I just felt like it was sarcastic? condescending? and I felt a bit "shamed" by it, actually. I didn't go in expecting that! I talked to the owner a week later and mentioned it to him but got no reply or response about it from him at all. I was a bit disappointed by that as it would have been nice for him to offer something at least; even if something like, "Oh, such a character! Sorry if it came across as off-color to you!" like that. Nothing at all. After I got my laptop back (only had them install an external hard drive and back it up), my niece's boyfriend who is a computer guy spent about 1/2 hour, in total, and got my laptop in great shape, cleaned it all up (no jackhammer necessary, just a q-tip). He was pretty upset with this assessment and how much money they were suggesting I spend. AND the screws on the back of my computer were stripped (no one else has ever opened it). I guess this is how people make money and how the world works but, I wasn't impressed with the integrity put forth, all around. I'll copy the tech's email here; judge for yourself: "Update Subject: Update During testing, we can confirm that the touchpad is in need of replacement. we expect replacement to run around $160 with parts and labor. To further inspect the unit, we removed the back case to find an amount of dust and debris inside consistent with what one might find if their laptop had spent the last several seasons buried in the sand dunes at Sand Beach in Bar Harbor. Even after a full tank of pressurized air to blow out the chaff, enough liquid residue exists to form a rigid crust of dust and debris that may need to be literally scrubbed off the inside of the case. This does not sit well with expectations of continued use. Our records show you do not have a backup of any of your data. Is the 105GB of data we find here important to you? If this laptop fails tomorrow from liquid damage, or if a circus bear came to your home and grabbed your laptop with its honey coated bear paws to go order tubes of toothpaste from Amazon, never to be seen again, would you miss any of this data? Having one hundred six items loose on the desktop, including entire folders of data, may be contributing to performance issues, and we only expect so much from a unit that is 9 years old running an operating system from 2019. Do you need help organizing your data? We can assist. Training is $100\hr and can be scheduled for you at your request. With a cycle count of over 2500 [!] The battery in this unit has been used over 250% of its intended life span, and should have been replaced over 1500 cycles ago, if we assume that the battery lasted its entire 1000 cycle life already before that. It is amazing and excellent that the battery did not swell and damage your laptop by now, or cause a fire. Replacement batteries for this unit are $150, and installation and testing adds one hour of labor at $100\hr. This unit is storing 105GB of data on a 128GB storage drive, and this is the maximum limit that this unit can store while still functioning properly. It may be time to upgrade this storage. Upgrades start at $200, and to migrate your data to the new drive would be around $100-$200 depending on how challenging it is to perform. The charge port is extremely dirty, and it looks like there may be char on one of the charge pins. Do you have a standard Apple charger we could test? The char may be from liquid and an electric short, but it also may be from a damaged, or non-Apple brand [but looks like Apple brand] charger. We would test a charger for you at no additional cost, covering this test in our half hour of free diagnostic testing. The other ports are dangerously dirty. we would clean them properly for 15 mins of labor @$100\hr. Problems with the Photos app may be related to hardware failure, the app itself, lack of free space on your storage drive, or maybe problems with the operating system. These issues are best resolved after we can rule out potential hardware failure\s. How would you like to proceed? read more

I brought in a laptop that had a library DVD jammed into it and explained that the mishap couldn't have happened at a worse time as I didn't have a lot of money to spend on the repair. Just had the best experience with this place. I am a HUGE fan of MacRevival. Justin took it upon himself to work with Apple and get my 5 year old laptop repaired for free. All I knew is that my laptop died and took with it most of my life. (Yes, I have backup after backup, but accessing that info presents its own problems.) Justin diagnosed the problem and told me there was a possibility Apple would do the work for free. Apple apparently acknowledged an inferior video card for the model/year I have and extended the warranty. Justin contacted Apple and negotiated the repair. He even had them replace the logic board with one matching my original specs---2 years ago a fiasco that lasted months ended up with Apple replacing my logic board with a slower, inferior version. I was out of fight at the time and didn't have the ammunition to battle them and make more trips to Portland so I just let it go. But Justin intervened and fought the fought! I am so impressed. I'd trust my computer with these guys any time. YELP needs a 10 star category for them. read more
