This is not a stereotypical barbershop that makes people feel uncomfortable if you don't fit a certain description. All people are welcomed and they're very welcoming. Also, the prices are very affordable. I got a regular cut, design, and just cleaned up very well and it was very affordable. The cheapest I've ever seen. Moral is, All of the workers are friendly, professional, and just genuinely seemed to love their job.

Where I typically feel nervous about new-to-me barbers, Drew and his colleague made me feel right at home. I described what I wanted, and 20 minutes later I was done! $17 is a couple bucks more expensive than my normal cut, but for the convenience of avoiding traffic, it was worth it. I especially want to note that they know how to effectively cut a taper here. It's the true test of a good barber for me, and this place passes with flying colors.

The teachers at the school try to do their very best to give the students what they need for state…read moreboard and then some. My only issue is not having the materials needed to "keep us busy". There are parts in the book we should do practically to help prepare us for this growing beauty industry but the school doesn't provide us with enough materials so the whole class can participate. With that being stated our teachers are constantly being removed from class to talk to administrators about "why the class isn't working". Most of the time we are either watching others cut, read our books, or do nothing at all and talk about things not relevant to school. As a Barber student, it's difficult to practice your blade theory without enough clients walking into the school. One thing we learn about is going outside to look (fish) for clients around the school, which helps us down the road when we start working in a booth renting shop. The schools famous quote is "the school isn't to teach you how to cut, they just need you to pass state board exams". Which in reality isn't enough when you're paying this high tuition, and you want to take this career seriously. Due to the fact that the school is so lenient that when they try to put rules the rules are forever changing daily causing chaos for administrators, teachers, and students.

So I'd probably come back, but I wouldn't wait if there was a long line.
