ordered an iPad Air and was asked to prepay, was well over one thousand dollars for one with 1TB and cellular option. over one month later, called after 2 weeks, then called again after 4 weeks. Told there "is an issue in the warehouse". Was also told Mac Man would call me back with an update. Now 5 weeks later, I am frustrated and no iPad. No return calls to me. Bought a new iPad and external key pad less than 24 hours ago. Couldn't get the keypad to work after charging it for approximately four hours. Took it in this morning and told them I couldn't get it to work. They said they'd look at it for a charge. What???? I was very disappointed in their response. Was given the info for these guys by Apple support after they determined I needed an install disk made. Literally spent an hour with online chat support. Was told disk would be free. Called before driving there and was told I would have to pay $68 for them to evaluate before they could do that. 5 mins time and a $0.25 disk could have gotten them a customer. read more

My wife went into this store to have her screen replaced. She was met at the front desk by an employee telling her "I won't mind snooping through your pictures and seeing your nudes". She was about to leave when the manager stopped her and offered her a 20% discount. I ended up calling the store to confront them about this and the manager claims "I heard the entire conversation and this did not happen." Then the owner of the company butted his head in and also told me that this did not happen. When my wife went in to pick up her phone the owner, manager, and the employee who sexually harassed her brought her into a back room to tell her that it did not happen. They also did not give her a discount on the screen replacement as the manager said they would. This experience made my wife extremely uncomfortable to the point of her exclaiming she never wanted to come back to this store. For a family run business this is not one I would recommend anyone go to for receiving services on their phones. The owner of this store has gone through great lengths to try and make a fool of me. This is more proof of the lack of morality that this business has. When something like this happens I just believe something should be done from it. I am just here to tell other people thinking about going to this store to reconsider following the actions of the owner and his employees. Thank you for reading this if you have gotten this far and I hope you can see the toxicity of the owner simply from the way he is responding to this review. He keeps asking what my motive is. I believe it is pretty straight forward, my wife was sexually harassed upon entering his store and when I called to have something happen because of it he covers it up. Not only have they never been able to fix a computer that I've brought in, they've also repeatedly made fun of old parts or said that a (working) computer is, "barely good enough to get on the internet." I brought my MacBook Pro in for the sticky key warranty repair on June 28 and I got it back today on July 20. Although it took some time I am very happy because of the extent of the repair and the quality of work MacMan did. They replaced the top case of the laptop, and noticed logic board and fan problems along the way. They then replaced the logic board and fan, essentially repairing the internals of the fan to mint condition. I am extremely grateful for the work MacMan did on my laptop and would come here again! read more

mid-2012 MBP suffered from the dreaded HDD cable failure. Contacted MacMan and said they could order the new/improved Apple cable and have it in a couple of days. I was contacted and setup a time to have it fixed. OUTSTANDING customer service and staff. I didnt rate higher since they charged me quite a bit to replace a cable that took literally took 3mins to fix. Funny that the owner was walking out and stated that they offered military discounts yet charged me full rate to fix and offered no discount. read more

This place is despicable. I had my new MacBook Air for not even 3 weeks and it stopped holding a charge. Unfortunately, I was hours away from an Apple Store so I went here. They had to send it out to get fixed. It came back with a replaced battery. I picked it up and they didn't have the charger that I left with them (they told me to leave all of it). The manager kept asking me if I was sure I didn't have it because they don't keep chargers when something gets sent out, as if I'm trying to not have a charger! It's all brand new, of course I know that I don't have it! So they tell me they have to check the cameras before they can do anything. I left, probably shouldn't have, but I couldn't listen to them talk down to me more than I already had without completely losing it. So, I call them later that day and I get another manager, maybe the owner, and he said he checked the cameras and I did leave it behind. NO KIDDING! Then he said he needed to watch the hours of tape to follow the employee to see where he put it and he'd call me back. I told him just to replace it and he said there weren't any in stock and that I'll get "my" charger back. He never called me back and still hasn't to this day. The worst customer service I've ever encountered and they could not care less. I contacted Apple via phone directly that day and filed a complaint. They overnighted me a new charger then followed up to assure it was working plus sent me a pair of Beats by Dre to attempt to make up for the experience. I understand policy and I was trying to be cooperative, but the second it was confirmed via cameras that I left it and an employee TOOK IT, I should've been reimbursed. Obviously. Not obvious enough for MacMan, I guess. Don't go here. Drive two hours to a real Apple store instead. read more

I was late for my scheduled appointment for a same-day repair and they still made time to get my phone fixed and back to brand new so that I could have it for work the next morning. The customer service was outstanding even with the new hire behind the counter. The owner, who family owns this establishment, is extremely nice and kind. The pricing is higher in comparison to some local businesses, However the quality of service and trustworthiness in the Apple products is definitely here. I will be back for more service. read more

First, I have been a loyal customer of Mac Man for over 25 years and have always been treated like a valued customer, until today. As of now, I will not step foot in that store again because of the air of disdain and the superiority complex of their representative! My wife and I stopped at Eau Claire MacMan with problem we are having with Outlook. I had screen shots of the the information that came up on our computer. The representative which I politely asked if he might know what is causing the issue. Without provocation, on my part, he instantly became an arrogant individual with superiority attitude. Telling me he needed our computer before my questions could be addressed. I asked him to look at the screen shots, which he refused, and he told me that's like going to a auto garage with a problem without the car and they would not be able to help either. My Mac was noticeably slow, so I brought it here for a check up. They got back to me at a reasonable time telling me what was wrong and what needed to happen. I brought it in a few weeks later when I had enough money. They fixed and cleaned my Mac in about two days. Very helpful and polite service through the whole process. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because I had a friend who brought her mac in to get checked and didn't get it back for a few weeks because they just forgot about it. Skeptical after hearing that story but after my personal experience I would definitely recommend here if your Mac needs to get fixed. read more

I would just like to say I have never reviewed a business online before, but the service I had at this store was so poor that I just had to yelp about it. I went in there looking for a charger for my MacBook Pro. It was about 2:00 pm on 4/24. The first question the lady asks me was about mags, what mag is it? Mag 1 or Mag 2 or something.... These are terms that I was not familiar with... But I knew there were only two types of chargers, a wide one and a long narrow one. So I replied with "It's the long skinny one, not the wide one" & made the shapes with my fingers. The woman tipped her head down and then asked me what generation my computer was..... I have no idea... I replied by saying I bought it in 2013.... She gave me a totally blank look. I then told her that it was a 13" MacBook Pro again trying to explain that it was long and skinny. She scoffed at me and was 'forced' out of her chair to walk two feet to the chargers that were behind her. I then pointed to the one I needed and told her I would look else where. I drove over to Best Buy, found a man working by the Mac computers and simply told him "I need a charger for my MacBook Pro... it's the long skinny one, not the wide one" and he walked right over to the product and handed me exactly what I needed without further questions. This woman was not very accommodating or welcoming at all... She used jargon and asked ridiculous questions when there was a very simple solution. I have never had a retail worker act so condescending, so snooty towards me. I couldn't believe how off-putting she was for an $80 sale... she even went as far as to tell me the exact cost after tax and made that little nervous face as if to indicate that she wasn't sure if I could afford it or not... This was my second strike with this store, the first of which they earned when they lost my computer case during shipping it out to get fixed. I walked up to the door at 7:45 pm; the store officially closed at 7. The staff came to the door and ushered me in to assist me! I had a iPhone4S asking for a SIM card it never used to need to work. They attempted several fixes; spent 25+ minutes assisting me; when they didn't have the solution I was not charged a thing. I was pointed in another direction to find the help i needed. Outstanding customer service. My laptop was acting funny, and after a misdiagnosis and costly repair didn't work, I assumed I was going to get fleeced. Instead, MacMan figured out what was actually wrong, fixed it, and only charged me for the original repair. I was floored by that level of customer commitment. The customer service rep was polite and tried to be helpful, but after picking out a new, but open box, mac laptop that fit my needs, along with the accessories for it, and reaching an agreed upon price, the owner went and changed the price to a higher price and basically told me it was his store, his decision. I've been to this location twice and would recommend it. I first purchased a leather case for my iPad 2 as well as a Zagg screen protector. They were very friendly and helped me find what I needed. A friend recently set out to buy an Ipad from a large corporate store but they were out of stock. He called me to ask where I thought might have one. Of course, I told him to try MacMan. He went and they had it in stock. He was blown away with the customer service he received and said he couldn't wait to go back. Great store and environment for a mac lover! However I was a bit upset last year to find out that they don't actually upgrade imac's there past what apple offers, even if the drives do exist. They offered to order a imac for me, but thats not really a service these days considering everyone has a credit or debt card and can do this themselves, I took two stars away due to this fact, however it's a great store if your looking for an ipad or ipad related item. However don't bye an imac or laptop here because you can usually find a better deal on apples own site either with a school discount or apple's refurbished store on their site. I visited the MacMan store on a Saturday and the women who came to help me was completely unsatisfactory. I asked her a question and all she could say is no with no interest whatsoever in telling me my further options. As a small business owner myself it was completely unacceptable, her lack of trying to please the customer is inexcusable. My 1st Gen Apple Watch screen popped off, no physical damage was done. After some research online, there was a lot of discussion about this being an issue due to swollen battery and Apple had issued a extended 3 year warranty to resolve this issue at no cost. After speaking to Apple Support, they suggested I drop my watch off to MacMan to be sent in for review and check if it would fall under the warranty. At the store, first male employee was pleasant and took my information. Informed me he was unaware of warranty but would look into it. I received a voicemail about a week later to call in regards to my watch. Second male employee verified over the phone, they still had not confirmed extended warranty but would contact me when they found more information (which I found strange, because I was returning their call). About a month went by and I hadn't heard any new news, I decided to give them a phone call, third male employee, after placing me on hold to review notes on this matter, snickered as he informed me they were never able to verify this warranty existed and would cost me just under $300( can't remember the exact quote) to repair the damage. I found this unsettling, knowing what Apple Support had suggested I do and reading multiple ways to resolve this issue at no cost. I declined repair service and informed him I would pick up the watch at a later date. My husband picked up my watch and he was a little disturbed(to say the least) by the interaction he had with the female employee when picking up the watch. Through small talk, he mentioned the extended warranty and mentioned we were sending the watch to Apple for review. She basically said(not exact words), if the warranty existed they would know about it. He found her unpleasant, rude and annoyed we would bring this issue to their attention. We were charged $15 for no actual service provided but it's a small fee and I was not going to make a stink out of it. I spoke to Apple Support, both female representative and supervisor were able to verified 2 different scenarios in which my watch could fall into. I received a shipping label from Apple on a Tuesday and I received a NEW watch on Friday. 4 days!!!! Now that is what I call Quality Service!!!!! The last two employees at MacMan were not knowledgeable, courteous, lacked interest and communication. They probably didn't even bother to verify the warranty because it took me only a few words to verify swollen battery in Apple watches were causing the face to pop off when speaking to Apple. Don't make the same mistake I did, get a shipping label straight from Apple Support and mail it in. It will save you time and frustration. read more

I went into the Mac Man on a Friday and was just planning on having them fix / send out my broken ipod. The Man who helped me was extremely friendly and had mentioned the price of getting my old ipod fixed would be the same price as a mildly used/ returned 4th generation ipod and recommended that over sending it in. So I figured sure why not a newer version around the same price. I then checked out paying in CASH. Get home and play around on it and decide to rent a movie on it to check it out movie takes about 3 hours to download for some reason and then BAM! not enough storage space, right there I decided No Ill just take it back and get my old one fixed more storage space. So I take it back and the Fellow who took care of me was not very polite at all! Well you paid cash for this and seen as you paid cash we will have to issue you a refund CHECK I was slightly annoyed and appauled by this. Because seriously I come in with cash and your gonna tell me its policy if you pay with cash we have to issue you a check for a refund. I said okay whatever wasnt going to argue with him and then out of curiousity I finally ask him why? and he sighs and was like it says right here in print and points the bottom of the receipt with font thats barely readable of course that this is our policy. I said ok very annoyed at this point not just by the outcome but by his tone and demeanor. He informs me a check will be written and issued to me by Monday and someone would call me . Extra annoyed by this I just say ok and leave. Monday rolls around , around 330 p.m. still no call so I go down there. I get a younger girl this time who was pleasant but very confused as to what was going on she had to go in back and ask others if there was a check and what she was supposed to tell me. Finally coming back The answer I get was " Well the person the writes out the checks was gone all weekend and he got back today but went straight into an employee meeting, someone was gonna call you when it was ready. So when hes out of his meeting we will call you" So I leave so pissed off to the point of tears this was totally ridiculous to me that they recieved there product back on Saturday and heres late monday afternoon and I still had no refund money to top it off! So I wait 530 p.m. rolls around still nothing so I call ... Same lady " You wont believe this but he is still in his meeting as soon as he is done we will call you" Well to make an even longer story shorter. I finally did recieve a telephone call around 7:45 p.m. Monday night saying Oh I have a check here for you do you want to come and get it. Mind you they closed at 8:00 p.m. and He stated someone would wait a little while til we got their but by then the banks are closed its late at night and we are on the opposite end of the town so I said No Ill come get it tomorrow. I then called Tuesday and informed them that my boyfriend would be coming to get it and told them his name. He went and got it and when he came home starts telling me about how the lady was hesitant on even giving him the check and kinda blew him off when he first came in the finish doing what she was doing on the computer. NEVER AGAIN will We step foot in the Mac Man store and will be telling all of friends and family about this experience and warning people to not go there for their apple product needs! read more

my wife bought an apple macbook floor model from this business. within 5 weeks it locked up. we brought it in and they said the logic board malfunctioned. My wife asked if that was something they would service since she had only recently bought it. The owner, O, scoffed and said, "what do you expect? It is a floor model." Well, it is a floor model and his behavior is typical of what I have heard about him as a business owner. We will never use his store and will always dissuade anyone who is looking for an Apple store from using his services. There are plenty of quality Apple stores in the Twin Cities and they actually treat us with respect. If i could have given 0 stars i would have. The man did not tell us to expect a breakdown when he took his hundreds of dollars from us and he sure as heck did not act as if he needed us as his customers.
